It is virtually impossible to remake this movie as enjoyable as it is. Even the minor characters and small scenes are appreciated.
Welp they’re remaking it with Jake gyllenhaal and they’re filming it right now so I guess we’ll see how it goes . Just like with Top Gun there’s a lot of money to be made with nostalgia movies . They know they’ll at least make their money back, if not (and more likely ),make a killing with making movies like these
@@ktothec24 top gun was a sequel this a reboot. Sequels do way better then reboots that why top gun did good. They are basically remaking this story with new actors and probably won’t be as good as the original with Patrick swayze.

Patrick Swazye and Sam Elliot together makes for great viewing, but to see and hear the fabulous Jeff Healey again is absolute cream. A Canadian rock legend gone far too soon!
Great Movie... Everyone must of had a great time making this movie!
Glad to see the fan base is still here
I know Swayze said that this wasn't one of his proudest films, but I hope wherever he is he knows that this movie is great drive-in style entertainment. I give Benny Urquidez all the credit for his perfect choreographic moves to make this as realistic as ever. Patric loved working with Benny and that is what makes a good movie great. From a humble teacher with a big heart Kudo''s to Benny the jet.
When documentaries about stunt people are shown on TV, "Road House" got featured 8 times out of 10 and the late Patrick Swazye pays huge tribute to them, as for the action scenes, they are first-rate. Stunt Coordinator Charlie Picerni (Die Hard/2, Maximum Risk) speaks with reverence on how they're brought to life : this as good it gets.
Not to mention Benny "The Jet" Urquidez was doing all the fight choreography with Marshall R. Teague (multiple black belts) and Patrick Swayze (an accomplished martial artist who apparently could've been a great kickboxer too, according to Benny).
@@Vishonov : Teague was in the US Navy and is a trained kickboxer, as for "The Jet", his achievements in martial arts and movie industry speak for themselves.
@@anthonylewis2080 Patrick Swayze was a great dancer, that was his strong point. But he never had black belts, he never possessed them.Consequently, Swayze has never been a master, especially an experienced one, he has a rather clumsy technique in martial arts. I am 40 years old, I have been doing shotokan karate since I was 14. Now I'm training in kickboxing. Yes, I heard that Benny Urquides allegedly offered Swayze to become a kickboxer, but Swayze was 36-37 years old. If at this age you can become one, although it can be assumed that Swayze could perform in an amateur ring in an open ring. Although Swayze is my favorite actor, he has good acting skills, he is plastic, he owns his body well, ballet school, he is a dancer. But waving his legs is not his forte.
Good movie facts to know ..hopefully everything works out right with strike...😬

Great movie rip Patrick Swayze you are missed deeply
an absolutely brilliant movie !!! the fight scenes were fantastic
RIP Jeff Healey 🙏
The fight scenes in this movie, where choreographed by no other than Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. He´s the guy who fights Jackie Chan in "Wheels on Meals" & "Dragons Forever". Before he got into movies, he also had a career as world champion in full-contact kickboxing, he later trained lots of Hollywood stars like John Cusack or Tobey Maguire in martial arts & worked as stunt coordinator in movies like Sam Raimi´s Spiderman. Patrick Swayze also continued training with Benny for many years after this movie was done and according to him, he had become quite skilled in karate & kickboxing. Also, the bandleader of the house band is played by no other than the legendary blues guitarist Jeff Healey, who was blind irl.
Nicolas Cage being one of them for 1997's "Con Air" and his kudos, skill and years of experience in martial arts has made him a sought after crew members within the movie industry today - long may it continue.
Thanks. Didn't know that about Benny the Jet.
Benny was/is a bad dude. Chan considers their "Wheels" fight to be his best ever because they hit each other so hard in real life.

The most talented person by far throughout the entire movie was the late, great Jeff Healey. One of the greatest guitarists we've ever seen in rock and roll.
I have to wonder what kind of conversations him and John Doe had.
One of my favourite scenes when Dalton said " You play pretty good for a blind white boy" Jeff retorts " Yeah and I thought you would be bigger". Great film Roadhouse.
Can't believe they're going to remake this classic too with Donnie Darko as Dalton, though who knows who else they'll try to cast for the rest as no one today is comparable.
I agree. Why bother. Like remaking Terminator without Arnold
It's a whole different story
I agree ,messing up one of my favorite movies
It's a hilarious joke to me because you can't replace Swayze & Elliott in this.
One thing this movie taught me (and life) ....no matter how big and tough you think you are...there is always someone bigger and tougher than you and it's only a matter of time before you find that out.
Swayze was good in this, hands down. But the star of this show was Sam Elliot. A class act with hands skill, wiseness, charisma, and charm. Everything a nightclub BOUNCER should have.
Anything Sam Elliott.
Marshall Teague was a tour de force in this too.
One of the best Movies of the 1980s.
One of the best movies ever
I just cannot for the life of me figure out why it's only 37% on rotten tomatoes. Sure it's cheesey. But it also has charm.
Love This Movie.
Marshall Teague ( AKA Jimmy ) is ex US Navy and a sheriff in Tennessee. His fighting skills look good because he could actually fight.
Man, the fight scenes got sooo much better since then. Ha! Still, a lot of fun watching.

I can't believe this movie is that old. Wow, where does time go?
Ahhh, the 80's...this was what it was all about. Hunky little heartthrobs filling big shoes, throwing punches, drinkin' coffee, killing the baddies & winning the girl. It was an instant cult classic,
RIP PATRICK
Way better than the newer one. It’s just a classic that should not have been touched.
Great raw 80s action scenes, love it
One of my all time favs!!!
This movie is always shown on AMC, it just grows on you like many others! 😆🍺👍
Love that the late Terry Funk is in this movie and I used his line that he said to Sam Elliott, one day when we were both filling up our vehicles between Canyon and Amarillo. He just started talking about how a good softball commissioner would be burning off the infield to dry it out, so Larry (son-in-law) could play ball tonight. I just grinned and told him "Just mind your own business, Dad!" Terry just laughed and he let me live another day..
Jimmy is just like my boy Garrett, how he was anyway. Full of anger and loved to fight. That's who I see when I watch Jimmy fight. 💯
Einer wenn nicht sogar der beste Tür Steher Filme den es gibt gab und geben wird. Danke Patrick
This old roadhouse movie was the best movie of it's kind ever made and everyone in it was excellent in the movie !!! It's obviously not for everyone or not the greatest movie of all time ever made but for it's storyline and type of movie it is is without a doubt one of the best of all time and Patrick swayze and Wesley's best fighter played by (Marshall Teague , another great actor) main fight showdown !!! Plus there are a ton of famous actors in this movie and of course the late great awesome Jeff Healy band !!! Sam Elliott , Ben Gazara , and everyone else !!! Too many to list great actors !!! Also I'm sorry but nobody will ever surpass or top this movie better than this one !!! It's really that perfect and good !!!
word of advice..dont call Sam Elliot a dad as in grandad 🤣 loved this film watched it countless times..a classic like this never grows old, Patrick Swayze was brill 😍

@@aoibheannnibhroin9951 that may be the case but the film still remains a masterpiece 👍
@@mitchellfagan7701 This film ruined the career of Swayze. He never received main roles again. Also, the fighting moments are weak in this film. No one of actors were fighters in this film. This film reminds me Charles Bronson in 70's. The only I love in this film is the white actors.
@@aoibheannnibhroin9951 compared to the fight scenes in films today, these weren't bad at all 👍 plus whenever people think of swayze dirty dancing or this are the first films that come to mind, so I don't think it fared too well in the long run 👍
@@mitchellfagan7701 You are selfish who takes things just by your comfort. Also, I was a fan of fighting films. This is why I was practising Shotokan, Goju Ryu, Kiokushinkai, Kudo, Judo, Boxing and now MMA many years. These kicks of Swayze are awful. They may seem real and working only for those who never were learning some fighting system. And the story is some nonsence. They took some mass fighting like in comedies of the wilde Western at saloons. This film could be still good in 60's and 70's. The year 1989 is the era of Van Damme, a real fighter. Swayze should not take a part in this film. But! That's my point, like you have yours. Any point has rights to exist.

When men settled fought using hands mostly and not guns
the best part of fights is the honor system. there is a winner and a loser, and sometimes a tie, or a group brawl filled with random chaos, but for the most part everyone lives to make it home. the 21st century has much less compassion and a human life isn't valued as much as it was. these days everyone has guns and is willing to shoot over hostile dialogue, or for even worse reasons that aren't worth it.
