Had an M-Sport 335d. Jr 2.8. The torque was wonderful.
Can I ask what made you get rid of it? Im thinking of buying the same car and getting the same tune
Triggerbot im going yo be honest with you. It was a heat score at night especially with my heavy foot. The police liked to stop it even if im barely over the limit. Too many speeding tickets. Lol.
@@BIGDINKMAN my friend has the same thing JR2.8 and also suffers from being pulled over too much. Bmw problems haha
@@sesh3508 i made a change and got an E-70 with a brr tune. Knock on wood as ive not been bothered for two years now. Its not as fast but at least im no longer a target. Btw…. Brr is the best all around tune an m57 can handle without tuning for the qr mile.
I got a 2010 335d sport with 94000 mi on it from my stepdad and I only paid $7,000. I'm scheduled for a delete and tune in 11 days. I'm pretty excited about it! I'll be in it for under 10k. I plan on driving this thing until the wheels fall off
Got a 535d E61 as a daily drive thats slightly modded. Can't get a better fun family car. Lots of torque and power but still have a great fuel efficiency. And a engine that seems to hold forever if you treat it good.
good podcast, came here for the m57 content. i have two questions that matt touched on: 1. what is different on ecu of the 2013 x5 that makes it not a good choice? 2. why is meth not recommended for more power?

Just bought a 2010 Base 335D couldn't find an msport after searching for months looking forward to learning a bit more about diesel

We did do an episode a few years back with DieselpumpUK on the om606. It was really cool to learn about its potential.
Had a couple that broke timing chains. Hopefully the chain doesn't fail and ultimately ruin the engine.
On the 3L engine? Have never heard of anyone that managed to do that. On the 2L however it's a known problem on some years.
Robert Sydbrink I am a tech at a dealer. yes I have seen high mileage m57y with broken timing chains. The link literally breaks in half causing complete failure.
That’s strange.. M57 engines are not known for failing timing chain ever.

Mine is a 2011 M sport, Lemans Blue, 48.5k km....happy with stock power for now but maybe upgrade power in the future
Not Bi Turbo , these M57 engines cars have twin turbos or compound turbos , a smaller turbo feeding a larger one , these 3.0 M57 ‘s have a closed deck design just like the gas 3 liter bmw engines , a Toyota 2JZ is a closed deck design that is why they can handle the power Bi turbo is same size turbos with each turbo usually feeding each bank of an engine
