Ok, hot takes for each redesign. Let's go. Sonic.exe, Too Slow: Perfectly fine redesign. Still relatively goofy, in keeping with the spirit of the original animation. Where it really shone was in the "I'm gonna get ya" transformation sequence, with the variety of eyes and teeth and arms. Great stuff. Sonic.exe, You Can't Run: Idle animation looks a bit more reserved, which doesn't fit a 2nd stage evil boss that well. By this point, we should see Sonic going for the jugular, you know what I mean? Leaning animations less extreme and sharp, which isn't good for intimidation, but facial expressions and menace much improved, high quality stuff. Laugh with extra arms is a nice touch, just need a bit of blending, and maybe a bit more of a "dark void" effect on the mouth and it'll be perfect. Tails, Triple Trouble: Excellent. You really played up the tortured aspect of the character with that Up animation, and the fact that the Up and Left animations both have a slashed neck on full display. Apart from that their animations were mostly identical, with a bit more polish to them, so I overall think this is just an upgrade over the original and I don't say that lightly. Beast Sonic.exe, Triple Trouble: I like how their claws are sharpened, how their eyes brighten a bit when they move, and that their movements seem less sudden and jerky in comparison to their original. However, I think the overall draw/lighting quality on the original is better (so far), the original's smile is much more menacing and rictus-grin-like, and the original seems taller and more imposing while the redesign seems hunched. It's a good redesign but it needs more polish to be an excellent one. Beast Sonic is probably the wierdest proportioned of them all so it's gonna be really hard to get it spot-on, but so far it's got several points I really like. Knuckles, Triple Trouble: Their ripped, gory smile is so much better in this redesign that I again am tempted to call this a straight upgrade. Their leaning animations are still fluid, but are a bit more distinct from each other so it's easier to tell which move Knuckles is actually doing. Also his Down animation looks genuinely painful and horrific, they way their smile and brow kinda drops and they just look sad, deflated and hopeless for a moment. Excellently done. Eggman, Triple Trouble: Eggman's rotten brain and teeth were so detailed in the redesign that it was actually distracting throughout their whole section. It's kinda impossible to stop looking at. Apart from the adjusted attention to detail, as well as some proportion and angle adjustments to the Down animation, Eggman doesn't look like he's changed much. So, again, better model details, same great movements. No complaints from me. Lord X, Cycles: The new animations for Lord X are Xcellent. Puns aside, you kept faithful to Lord X's model quality, proportions, animation style, colour and vibe pretty much flawlessly. I particularly like his new Right animation, the challenge and showmanship mixed with menace; he's threatening you, but he's clearly having fun doing it. His new Down also keeps one eye open a tad and you can still see the red glow in his eye, which is great. His new idle fits the new animation set excellently and imo removes a bit of the goofy wide stance the original had. His Left still has the "get a load of this guy" point, but it does have the one downside that Lord X is no longer looking directly at the player while doing it, breaking the 4th wall. Apart from that one comment (which is a matter of personal preference), I think this is easily your best redesign of them all, because it adds new animations that are of excellent quality, match the artstyle, and are in-sync with the spirit of the character. Lord X's redesign is my favourite. Sonic(?), Faker: Faker Sonic has a very different vibe than the original. Wheras the original Faker Sonic was uncanny, vaguely threatening in all their expressions, the redesign appears nervous, uncertain and awkward in every animation but their Up, which most strongly resembles the original, but even then it has one uncertain eyebrow twitch. The OG wasn't trying too hard to hide that something was wrong because they looked hostile right from the start, while the redesign appears desperate to conceal the fact that they aren't the real Sonic. Very much gives me a "hey kids, I'm totally a licensed mascot for this theme park, come with me around this corner for a bit, away from your parents" kinda vibe. Very creepy and unnerving. I like that you went with a different approach to Faker Sonic on this one, this feels very much like a re-interpretation rather than a straight adaptation. I like it a LOT. Not Sonic, Transformation Sequence: Ok I needed to give this one a seperate category because there's so much to talk about in only a few seconds. Seeing them go from dissapointed, to stretching out, to genuinely emaciated was shocking. You can see their bones poking out from their body, their ribcage. Their face still has that uncomfortable nervous disposition even as the transformation is starting. And the rips in their skin that reveal bone beneath as they grow too large for their skin to contain them was a ghastly detail. What really did it for me was their nose peeling off. That was just disgusting. Love it. So much work for only about 10 seconds of animation, but you clearly put effort into every moment. Black Sun Sonic.exe, Black Sun: I didn't think it was possible to make their Right animation's mouth wider, but you sure did it. As I've said, the rips and exposed bones are highlighted excellently, and their protruding ribcage is altogether unsettling. Their claws are more hooked and prominent in this version, which adds to their bony, tallman, emaciated redesign look. Their smile is a little more curved overall, again like their skin doesn't quite fit right over the creature beneath. However, the shading detail on the original is a bit better. That's pretty much the only thing I could point to and say needs improving, because apart from that, this is an excellent redesign from Stage 1 to 2, with a great degree of originality and subtle character added on to the original. Majin Sonic, Endless: He has a moustache. Ok, but seriosuly, I think this Majin Sonic bridges the gap perfectly between the Sonic.exe 1.0 version, and the 2.0 variant. It hits that middleground between the whimsy and fun of 1.0 and the menace and shadowed face of 2.0. An excellent redesign that incorporates some of the best features from both of their previous appearances, and also a moustache. Excellent mod. 8.5/10. One of the rare "HD" mods that I think really deserves the title, where the redesigns are worthy alts of the classics.

I just realized Tails "neck" is bleeding, shows that his body and head split up(since in "Too slow" his head is in a ¿wood?). They did a good job there! Sonic.exe's "You can't run" form is also really good. Especially his laugh sprite. The hands from his mouth make it more horrifying.

Majin actually kinda looks a bit like a fusion of his old sprite and new one. It's clear he's more fun and bouncy, whilst also still being a little creepy and shady looking.

While it looks a hell of a lot cleaner, I prefer the original .exe idle pose in You Can't Run, with it being a reference to the classic sonic pose. While this one does come across as more arrogant, it's a tad more generic as well. Too Slow is just a straight upgrade, especially that animation, a nice touch. Upping the creep factor of Lord X's sprites are pulled off well and look really clean, although the goofy expressions of the OG mod feel are more iconic, and gives him a tinge of insanity, and the vibe of toying with his opponent, as he does apparently limit his power for fun. Xenophane and Faker, however, looks decidedly worse IMO, not much more HD than the OG. Less actually, in stage 1 Faker's case.

This is really good, no cap. I just think that the designs are a little rough around the edges for most of them. Some small cleanup, smoothing of certain lines, and even movement of where body parts are can make this perfect

I don’t see this as much of a “HD remake” of the mod, but more of a really well made redesign. There’s so much that was changed in this mod that it seems more of a personal interpretation.
I really like this and I don't normally think highly of reanimated things but this takes the mod a step further. The new animations for Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik really make it seem like they're actually suffering, the new look for EXE is more grotesque and scary, more blood and gore, it's just all so good and well done

Thanks for showcasing my mod Ryzzon, I didn't think this mod was going to be shown to the public when I saw this when I was traveling I was surprised and excited. Well I also came to comment for things about the mod: What is the mod? : The mod is like a kind of amalgamation of HD, reanimated, remastered and but bad, that's why there are quite a few types of designs. The EXE faker sonic case: Well with this one, I know, it's bad, it seems traced but on my vacations and when I saw your comments it gave me the idea to change it, the new design will have references to other sonic skins or mods that are for FnF, making as if the He will try to prove that he is the real sonic but you already know how it all ends. Fleetway super sonic: I was on vacation, so I could not do it and I still do not start with him because I just returned today, and later I will see if I will start with him, I just promise that I will give my best to finish it and if I fail, well, at least I will try but you don't have to give up :) Majin sonic with mustache: what do i say? I keep it, it is a combination of the new majin design with my old design of my mod that you can still see if you download the first version of the mod in the same link of the description of the video. Well, this is all I have to say and the things I have to clarify, see you next time :) (sorry if my english is bad ; v ; )
oh and i forgot something, in the bg of endless i put the message "fun is infinite" but in the game only shows the words "fun is", if you go on the assets of the level, You can see that I did put the message only that the third pillar does not appear

A little nitpick here but, Making Faker Sonic's eyes connected might've been a mistake. Since the real Sonic's eyes are connected, Faker Sonic's eyes being separated is dead give away that he was an impostor, Yet nuanced enough for people to miss. It's what made him unique.

Personally, one of my favourite songs is You Can't Run, but the thing the HD mod seems to forget is the shake that was included on each move, showing the sheer power Sonic.EXE is exerting. That's really all I noticed, besides the HD sprites being a little rough.
Finally a good HD mod with good design and not just entirely flat colors that have barely any shading

you did a really good job of detailing the character's features I can tell every single emotion that characters are feeling at the moment. Faker sonic is sweating either cuz he's nervous or just tired too him transforming into Black Sun Faker Sonic which is a very painful transformation which you can tell he's in a lot of pain is really good! In Triple Trouble, you can see that every time Tail's mouth opens like he's in pain cuz he's forcing himself to open it. Sonic.exe is much more threatening this time so you can tell that bf is in danger or would be if his girlfriend wasn't there. Even Lord X looks like he can do some damage even though he would like to 'play' with bf (whatever the heck that means). Majin Sonic is Perfection still wondering if he has a mustache or not Idk why people argue about it all the time he still looks cool with or without a mustache. I love your art! I'm subbing! I'd love to see more work from you!

I think this actually looks decently solid. I personally don’t care too much for the main Sonic.EXE’s sprite changes but they looked more consistent with each other, which was nice. For Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman I can’t say I noticed too much differences. They look fine enough I suppose. I really love Lord X’s new sprites. They look pretty wildly different compared to the original, even though they still keep the same energy that make him unique. I didn’t notice anything with Majin, though. I think EXE (or I guess Faker) look pretty unique too. His first form has some expressions, which I think dial down the creepy a bit, but one thing I noticed is the sprites seem a little inconsistent with each other for his base form. I don’t know if that was intentional or if I’m crazy, but I think that adds a bit to the “this thing is trying to be Sonic but it fucked up its form” vibe it has. I didn’t really notice anything about EXE’s second form either though. Overall, solid mod and there are still improvements that could be made. I hope it’s still in development because I’d like to see what Fleetway Super Sonic or Sunky would be changed.

So, yeah. I learned from watching the V1 minus video that the cutscenes aren’t editable, and it turns out that the second song’s pixel section also can’t be edited, but when EXE transforms can apparently be edited.

A lot of sprites look like they would fit with the HD look, mostly the triple trouble ones, too slow's cutscene and lord X. Though some sprites look like they would fit more in a reanimated or remaster mod. Also i dont like when a mod gives majin a mustache since its been confirmed that he doesnt have a mustache and thats just the shadow of his cheek bones

Okay. Now this i like. I love the change of the "can't run" animation. This looks way more unnerving than the original.
I would argue that sonic.exe doing the iconic pose but more unnerving. Just knowing that this is an impersonator condescendingly mocking sonic makes him feel more powerful.
I like one of the little clues you put at Tails.EXE’s part in Triple Trouble, because as you can probably tell, the sprite sheet for Tails.EXE is a little bit faster then the original sprite sheet for the playable mod, I think it’s about 30 fps, while this one sits at about a good 45 fps (by the way, this is just what I think, it’s ok if it’s not theoretically correct)
When Sonic turns his head to the side in the cutscene, I just start thinking of Ultra Instinct Goku. I can never get enough of this mod!

Robotnik's already been creepier from the start. This mod just gives him more nightmarish theme with those detailed brain of his. The rest of the mod, they were pretty good, to be honest.
Eggman became nightmare fuel, Xenophane looks like a graphical step up, Tails and Knuckles.exe are more expressive... But most importantly Lord X is even more of a sir. I dunno why but I like that people keep interpreting him as the most gentlemanly of the .exes but at the same time also a troll.

EXE lost it's aesthetic to be honest. Details which it had have been not mistakes, but this artist have "corrected" them. But don't take me wrong, for an HD mod it's awesome work. I especially love Lord X here

I mostly prefer the previous look for most of the sprites tbh but this whole update is a piece of work. 1) The Sonic sprites for "Too Slow" and "You Can't Run" are vast improvements. Tails looks great, I like that you can see through Knuckles' mouth in the UP Sprite but I don't like the extra blood simply because, with Knuckles already being red, it's to much red. The detail on Eggman's brain is nice but he seems mostly unchanged. I feel like Xenophane's new sprites are a downgrade. I feel he was much more imposing before. Not only was he bigger and wider, him looking a little more cartoony felt like it added to the creepyness. They are still awesome sprites, just no longer "A+" material, just a solid "A". 2) I was introduced to Lord X through this Mod so I'm not familiar with his lore or personality (which is actually the case with Xenophane). Due to this, I'm biased in favor of the more cartoony sprites of the previous version, but still great sprites nonetheless. 3) I'm mixed on Faker. I like that he's more expressive. Especially since most of his sprites look like he was questioned if he was actually Sonic and he's like "What? Of course I'm me. Why would you think that? Pfft. Come on, it's your old pal Sonic. Why wouldn't I be me?" Though, I do like the semi-playful, semi-angry look from the previous. I like the more cartoony look of Black Sun but it's good nonetheless. 4) Visually I like this one. It has pretty much been confirmed by the guy who came up with the Majin Sonic sprite, over Twitter, that Majin Sonic doesn't have a mustache. The darkness under his eyes are shadows. However, I don't dislike the mustache interpretation. I think it would better if Majin had both 'stached and non-'stached sprites that and he switches randomly between the two.
all of these are just trying too hard, the originals were more subtle with the creepy factor, while this one pushes it to an extreme that i can only compare it to the average ''photo-realistic blood eyes'' trope that i just can't take seriously.
OMG, You Can’t Run was amazingly done, Sonic.Exe seemed so confident i loved it.
Most of these are REALLY good. The Sonic.EXE "I am god" scene midway in Too Slow. Everything in, You Can't Run I personally love how it changed the up pose, because I see the original up pose to be silly looking with his 👌. Triple Trouble is steller with the HD sprites, I love how Tails looks sad or in pain and Eggman is more clear on his design, especially the brain being exposed, the original shows it but I thought it looked like a ball of wood inside his head more than a brain. Lord X is phenomenal with his sprites. Majin looks more threatening. And lastly, EXE looks scarier as a whole with the transformation and song. Although there are some downsides to some of these sprites, to me at least. Sonic.EXE in Too Slow feels... Awkward, his legs and height feel like they have no impact to his desired poses. Knuckles in Triple Trouble looks too dark compared to how he originally is. Lord X's right pose feels less "playful" than the original. Majin Sonic doesn't have a mustache, (as he doesn't.) Lastly, Faker EXE having connected eyes is very awkward and doesn't set the emersion as well when some of EXE's poses go to the original poses but higher quality, additional to that, EXE's poses in Black Sun feels off with some of the scaling of his head and quills. Don't get me wrong, this is VERY amazing, but it does have some flaws accounted for.

I was about to make a comment about how tails design has some subtle details like that but you made it more clearer and stuff.
In my opinion, "You Can't Run" is one of the Best OST's from the Story Mod, in second place, "Triple Trouble". =)
I love how Faker actually looks like he is tryin not to lose it and actually be nice to them. But than he gets set off by losin and we get to see his transformation. Props on that also btw since it looks like he is fightin his .exe half for control.
I'm so damn happy that Robotnik actually has the look he was intended to have: his rotten brain swelling out, instead of your average fuckin' smooth tater The fact that it's actually as big as the top of his head and that it's wrinkled makes it better, considering Robotnik is a literal genius.
I love Tail's new look. His idle and movements show more of his pain than the original version. Not saying the original is less good, but there's something about this Tails.EXE that makes him seem more in pain and that you understand his suffering more. Amazing indeed ❤️💯
I love EXE (Faker)'s animations and expressions! His facial expressions really show that he's scared of BF finding out who he is too soon, and wants to keep this little 'game' going for longer, as also shown by his losing/danger icon, which is him smiling, but when he's winning or just in the middle, his icon is serious, as he thinks their little game will end too soon, which shows that EXE is having fun rapping against BF. Overall I love EXE, HD or not. When in HD, it really shows EXE a lot better, appearance-wise, and his expressions, and when in the actual mod (before it was removed), he seemed so happy and joyful, of course until Black Sun, where he just seems to want to kill BF. This was very well-made and I have high hopes for the VS. Sonic.EXE mod, HD and regular.

The one thing i would really love getting added would be the jumpscare. Most remastered ones just keep the good ol' jumpscare and i want a change in it, But overall its epic
I actually really enjoy the sprite updates! Mostly because it caused a few tweaks to be made to a few things which made it better such as I love the improved things to the "I'm gonna getcha! I am god." like the extra rows of teeth and many eyes in the sockets as well as the singular eye which ties back to tails. Speaking of tails I like how in the new version he actually shows the wounds made from when his head was detached in the first act! Fake sonic looks so good in this one!! Looks way more convincing than the last one as in the last one it wore a scary look but in this one he seems more friendly if not nervous, the idle pose even looks very off and disturbing in a slight way (the first form gives the fear through subtle hints..kind of "He looks normal but something is off/wrong"), and the transformation is so much scarier 10/10.

All the designs are amazing! Except EXE looks a bit weird with connected eyes, also Masato Nishimura (creater of Majin Sonic) confirmed that Majin Sonic didn't have a moustache and that it was just a shadow

Faker/EXE’s poses looking more nervous and awkward instead of sinister and creepy actually gives a pretty dope and new vibe on the song, as if he’s desperately trying to imitate Sonic instead of being a unsettling copy of him. And then once he sees that this fails is when he feels the need to resort to his transformation.
I gotta give respect to the guy for making sonic.exe more evil kinda like those nostalgic vibes if you ask me.

Yep, but everything other than the I am god part is fine The original with everything else is better But in my opinion they did triple trouble well

I do find this case of "let's just mod this and see what happens" to be one of the best versions. A bit janky but easily the better version of this type of mod

EXE’s transformation actually looks really good in this. (I mean you can even see his nose falling off too)
His eyes also look like they're actually melting inwards unlike the og mod in which his eyes stay the same during his transformation

My favourite part of this is the fact that Lord X acts like a gentleman in his idle pose, which I find to be a hilarious contrast to Xenophanes' YCR idle which has him looking cocky as hell

I like how in Triple Trouble, the creator actually paid attention to the fact that Tails' head had to be put back up there because Sonic.exe literally impaled his head and detached it from his body
That's why one of tails' sprites shows him having one eye because his head was tilted backwards a bit meaning the spike made a tunnel between his eye sockets

This is pretty well done! The triple trouble gang all look more expressive and more disfigured, phase 2 Sonic looks a lot more cocky, Lord X looks a lot more suspicious and feral, and i like that Phase 2 EXE has more detail with the ribs showing and sharper teeth. My only complaints are that Phase 1 EXE/Faker’s eyes are connected which is a design error, and Majin Sonic having a mustache, which while it doesn’t look bad it doesn’t stay true to the original design just like with Faker. Other than that, solid!
Faker sonic looks strange. Oh yeah good job on the mod by the way! The idle animations need a bit more work but rest good!

Fleetway sonic is too cartoony so I'm not sure if a redesign is really needed since fleetway came from sonic comics
