I'll give you some tips. 1- Best relief is keeping ice cold water in your mouth specificaly wherever is most itchy. Huge relief!!! 2- Pick a side and pull them out from the inner-side of your mouth on your wisdom teeth, and it easily peels off of your teeth. 3- Try to keep ur upper and lower jaw seperated, the less ur trays touch each other, the less u feel ur teeth. I know it is kind of tough but by biting ur trays u make ur teeth and gum more alert and sensitive against pain. Not letting ur trays touch each other helps pretending that they r not there. 4- In my case, on the 4th day (after the 3rd day of teeth, jaw and head aches) I realized it started to cause more pain to not to have them on. So try to keep them on as long as u can. 5- Don't try to give your teeth a moment of relief by taking your trays out even for one second because your teeth lean more on going to where they were rather than stay where they r. So you would cause urself longer periods of pain in return of a second of relief. Peace ✌️ I hope ur experience is less painful and annoying than mine.
Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tips
Excellent tips. Im DEEP into my aligners journey and all these are true.
But we have to take the trays out to eat and everytime I take them out even for 15 minutes they start hurting specially the one next to my top wisdom tooth
Why do people think Invisalign will be less painful? Because Invisalign themselves actually claim this in their advertising. It's really disingenuous. I would still have done Invisalign anyway had I been properly informed, but I don't think it's fair to mislead customers only to have them be so unprepared for first week of pain that they question of they've made a terrible mistake. Thank you to Tray Minder for being so open and informative about all things Invisalign. It's very reassuring to know my experience was normal and not something to worry about.
For anyone who has invisilign you may be in pain wearing them but IT HURTS MORE IF U TAKE THEM OFF. give it a few day and drink so cold water take a pain killer it’ll pass and it will be worth it
This is great advice. Thanks for sharing.
How long the pain last ? Like the entire treatment ??
Or just the first week
Really its soo painful
@@FatimaSaqib-zq6dbentire , first week of changed trays are hardest , and god forgive if they give u attachments RIP
Nobody told me this part 😢
Glad for this community. Thank God I'm not going mad 😅. On day 3. Front teeth extremely sore! Using my molars to eat. a) Is this normal b) How do I know I'm not damaging my teeth c) Will the sensitivity in my front teeth go away??
I am on tray 2, weekly changes. The first week was horrible. Probably by day 6 it was getting better. I heard that the longer you keep the aligners in, the quicker the pain passes, so I got minimum 22 hours a day. Changing into my second tray I was petrified that I would experience the same pain, but it was just slight soreness. Hopefully it continues in the same way.
I put week 7 in last night and omg… worst pain I’ve felt thus far
I just put today it too hurt When I take off to eat meal Then put back Omg
My dentist put in my first set yesterday, and I am definitely feeling feeling discomfort, it is food to know it will get better soon.
This is good to know. Im on day 3 and I was ready to give up. Pain is significant.
@KarlaDNunez It gets much better with your second tray. I am on my fourth tray, and I sometimes forget I have them on.
I’m on month 4 and it’s still very very painful. But I do see results. Can’t wait for this torture to be over 😢
Just started tray 7 of 24. And as usual for the first couple of days, Im in excruciating pain. So so so painful 😭😭, and the painkillers are not working 😭. My mouth has been dry and irritated from the start. Lips are always chapped. I've just had the worse experience so far. The only reason Im pulling through is cause I paid so much for this agony. My doc is really pleased with my progress though😁. Thanks dr Bailey for the informative videos💖
Sorry to hear you’re having such an awful time. Things usually get better with time - hang in there. I’m glad you’ve found the videos to be helpful.
I use a night lip mask. It seem to stay on a lot longer and I haven’t had issues will dry lips after using it. Doesn’t hurt to give it a shot. I am still new in my treatment, the first week was agony, but it seems to have calmed down for now. Just a dull ache sometimes. Hopefully it continues getting better. I am like you, i paid too much to give up. 😂
Yes, the same! What's up with the dry lip thing?
I am 59 and just got Invisalign. I am on day 5 and the pain is not joke. Dentist said to take Tylenol instead of Advil because Ibuprofen can impede the movement of the teeth. Tylenol is not even touching the pain. So I take the Tylenol, then about an hour later I just take 1 Advil and I have been using warm compresses on my face. Supplementing with the Advil is the only way I can stand it and the only way I can sleep. Good news is - if it's hurts it must be working, that's what I tell myself lol
You have the right attitude. The first week is the hardest. It will get easier.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I realized my teeth reverted due to me not wearing my retainer so years later they shifted back. Well i put my trays back in thankfully i only have to do 7 top and 11 bottom. One thing i remembered the dentist telling me to do was keep my trays thank goodness i did.. Once i finish this time I'm wearing my retainer the full year no joke. Plus as you mentioned every few days. I had no idea how important this step was as i only had very little shifting of my teeth and thought they wouldn't revert. Well, I'm no longer in pain thank goodness I'm on day 4 tray 1. I'll keep them in 14 days and switch to the next trays. Your videos have been very very informative.. thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting. It helps others to discover this channel. That’s great luck that you were able to find your old aligners and able to wear them. I always tell patients that orthodontics is a treatment, not a cure. Our bodies are always changing.
@@TrayMinder that is so true...
I will be starting tray 3 tomorrow but I have had no pain from the trays themselves. My only discomfort has been from canker sores where the attachments rub against the inside of my cheek.
Salt water rinse is helpful to soothe the canker sores. Hopefully the attachments will become smoother with time. If they don’t, let your orthodontist know and they may be able to smooth them down slightly for you.
Pain, soreness, and general discomfort are all normal symptoms. I would recommend Tchakowski Balm. It is oily and contains vitamin E and propolis, which helps in healing those nasty canker sores. I am wearing my fourth tray, and I have never felt more teeth discomfort in my entire life. Just keep wearing the aligners. It will get better. 😀
Thanks for sharing your experience. Good luck with your treatment.
They didn’t tell me about the painful part
My first tray was fine, no pain. But boy, do I have pain on my second tray. I just ordered some balm for canker sores. I can feel pressure on a few teeth from the aligners and it's been a rough few days.
@@ES-qu1jd Yeah man , the first week was painful for me I’m on my second Tray , I’m suppose to get my third Wednesday but it doesn’t hurt as much as the firsts tray did ; Now everytime I replace trays it just feels tighter I still see no results .
@@Roger-ob2ft I'm on my third tray and it didn't hurt as much as the second one. I'm due to change to the fourth tray this weekend. I'll see if it's painful or not. Glad you're not feeling much pain. I don't think we'll see results until a few months into the process. How many trays do you have? I've got 34 total.
Jus got mind 2 days ago and it hurts so bad I can’t even eat all I’m doing is drink water😩
Sorry to hear that. It gets better usually after 3-4 days. The first week is the hardest.
No pain no gain
I feel you😐 just got mines today. I'm so annoyed 😫😫😫 but it'll all be worth it in the end I'm sure.
@@babyrheas I got mine yesterday, I feel your pain, you’re not alone 😭
Same
I have Invisalign on the top and braces on bottom, I will say The first week of braces hurt, but the second week didn’t at all, the first week of Invisalign hurt more than my braces, and it hurt for a second week after I changed it because my teeth weren’t used to a new pressure every week yet
Thanks for sharing your experience with others.
Can you please explain what helped you with the pain and how you were able to eat? I just got Invisalign on top and braces on the bottom, not too much information for my scenario on the internet
I just started my first tray yesterday, I really only have pain when I take them out to eat and my teeth hurt during eating and when I put them back on for just a bit. With my Invisalign trays my dentist has to do an IRP every time I go in to get the next 4, which I didn't have to have numbing of any kind for the first one.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Good luck with your treatment.
Thank you
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
I m now at Day 3 of wearing Clear Aligner. It hurts taking them off and put it back on. I m scared to eat anything now because I don't want to remove it. It's uncomfortable to talk.
Hope you feel better soon. It does get easier.
i just started with my 1st tray but it doesn't hurt at all. I think it's because my orthodontist insisted that i start with zero alligners. when i first started wearing zero alligners, it hurt a lot. i wore it on and off (because zero alligners does not move your teeth) but i got used to it after a week. Only then my orthodontist got my attachments in and started my first tray. My teeth are sore but not painful. still have 15 trays to go
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have clear correct aligners, and I have noticed an ulcer/canker sore developing on my bottom jaw between the inside of my bottom lip and my gum on that little piece of skin. It is very painful and I think it is caused by my tray digging in slightly. What would you recommend doing? I have tried to file/trim the tray but I am scared of going to far and affecting the trays ability to move my teeth!
Generally speaking, trimming the aligner with scissors is helpful to make the area more comfortable for you. Be sure to contact your orthodontic office and ask what they recommend. Hope you feel better soon.
@@TrayMinder I don't know about that. My orthodontist said don't file them yourself because it can cause them to not fit properly if you file too much.
Thank you for your wonderful advices. Also I had a question is it normal to have little headaches when you start wearing aligners?
I’m glad to hear that the video have been helpful. Some patients do report headaches, but usual only at the beginning for a few days.
I am on tray 3 and i can say i definitely did/do experience a few headaches around the beginning.
I'm on the tray 16 of 25 trays. the discomfort is crazy, each invisalign makes pain in different teeth around you mouth any time you change the plastic, I can't speak, sometime i dont eat right is painful remove the plastics worse is put on again, the worse at night I can sleep.
@@neishmatorres6268 same, started wearing new set of trays. Facing same set of issues .
I’ve been wearing my Invisalign for almost a year I had the best experience my treatment is going so smoothly.. but Friday I switch too tray 47 and I notice my front tooth the one on the right is so sensitive to cold water anything cold I’ve never had sensitivity before.. but it’s only one tooth(front tooth) is so sensitive to cold stuff why is that happening?? I ordered Sensodyne toothpaste to see if it will help.
Hope you’re feeling better. It could be that the particular tray is putting a bit more pressure on that tooth. If it doesn’t get better in a few days, contact your dental provider.
Same exact experience here. Ive been wearing Invisalign for 6 months now and all of a sudden my bottom front left tooth is super sensitive to cold/warm and is very very sore. It even feels a bit loose. Its painful so Ive been taking Tylenol. Im glad Im not the only one experiencing this. Thanks for sharing
My teeth are hurting when I take them out and especially when I put them back in. Omg theeee pain!!! I just started tray 2 of 14. Lord help me. Lol
Hope you feel better soon. It’s definitely hard at the beginning. Contact your provider if the pain persists.
oh no :/ how you feelin now?
@@deannmx I'm actually pretty fine now. It going to be uncomfortable for the first couple days of any tray till you get use to them. Feeling hopeful this will come out the way I want. I will post update on my page.

Is it normal if your eeking like heart beats in your gums like
I am not sure if this is going to get an answer but I started my aligner 3 days ago, still haven't felt any pain other than some sensation that is similar to growth sensation in my youth time. Hope it doesn't mean it 's not working.
Orthodontic treatment can cause varying degrees of discomfort among different individuals.
Ugh it’s painful afff 😢 I’m trying to keep it on long hours so this passes quickly but honestly it’s the worst ☠️
I'm an Indian. It's my day 2. And it is hurting. I'm getting headaches.
I’m on day two and this is prolly the worst pain I’ve felt since getting it pls tell me it gets better
It does get better so hang in there. By day 3-4, you should start to feel better.
Just started mine it feels like a little discomfort but after day 2 I felt nothing anymore
Thanks for sharing your experience. Everyone has different treatment and pain tolerance. Consider yourself very lucky :)
@@TrayMinder that’s because I have a really high pain tolerance I don’t feel the shots at the dentist so this is nothing
i cancelled my apt.. not going to do it.. way to expensive, time consuming and the pain... no way.. my teeth arent in that bad of shape... and the price is way to much for me.. my ins. doesnt cover it... tooth pain for me isnt worth it..
No one asked nor cares what you decide to do for yourself, but go you king 👑
Is it normal to have pain on the gum line? I just changed to my 2nd of 16 aligners today and my inner lower gum line is hurting!
The edges of trays may irritate the gum line. Check in with your treating provider to check.
Day 1 and an attachment already fell off, my ibuprofen wore off at about 3am and now I can't sleep I'm in so much pain 😕
Hope you feel better soon!
@@TrayMinder Thanks! I'm now on day 2 and I got a 6 hour nap and felt great :)
Lmao
I'm on day 3 of my 1st tray and since starting the headaches are so bad.
I was waiting for this horrible pain when I started with my Spark aligners, but I only had soreness. Nothing untolerable. I am wondering if my aligners are doing their job. It has only been a month.
Great question. Consider yourself lucky if you’re not having too much soreness. Everyone’s treatment and pain tolerance is different.
Very true
I have had invisalign for a while now and one of my permanent teeth hurt, it's sensitive to hot and cold and the pain is very sharp. It lingers for a few minutes, should get it checked out?
Yes, consistent sensitivity to temperature and sharp pain should be checked out, especially if it’s at least 2-3 days after starting a new tray.
This made me appreciate my teeth gaps ngl
I'm in Agony !! Do what u got to do🤯
Hope you feel better soon.
I’m on tray 5, and my teeth don’t hurt. I had braces in the past, and those were painful. I know my teeth are moving because my trays fit really well. Is it unusual that I don’t experience much pain?
Yes, you’re lucky! Some people experience more pain than others. As long as your teeth are moving along, you’re fine.
@@TrayMinder good to know, thank you! :)
@@TrayMinder I had the same question.....even tho I just started Wednesday, I have no discomfort at all 🤔
Is it normal to have cold sensitivity in a few teeth after starting Invisalign? It's like a shock of pain to drink anything slightly cool.
Great question. Some patients do experience cold sensitivity. It usually subsides after a few weeks. *Reminder: this is for general information and educational purposes only and not meant to replace the advice or care of your treating provider. +100.. its my first day and damnn it hurts..
I am on my 1st tray today, today is my first day of my treatment. It hurts quite bad and i am not sure if it is okay to take pain killers like Arcoxia? Also, i realized that i can't close my mouth fully after wearing the aligners, is that normal?
Some adjustment period is normal and most people begin to feel better after 1-2 weeks. Good luck with your treatment.
Is it normal to have swollen gums during invisalign?i am on my tray no.9 day 3 but wasn't able to sleep because my gum is swollen.
That doesn’t sound right. Be sure to contact your dental provider right away. In the mean time, be sure to floss daily and brush 2-3 times a day.
Just started yesterday and the soreness hurts.
Hope you feel better soon. The first week is the worst.
@@TrayMinder They told me it would take 2 years.
I’ve had mine for almost a week. My two front teeth hurt a little. One on top and one on bottom. Is that normal?

That sounds quite normal.
I have the same. It’s normal 😊
She put all that HuRT with a wide smile on da face 😂😂😂. I just started invis and man does it hurt , first 2 days were killer
Still on my first trays and the pain is just crazy. gotta take them out an hour before I eat so I’m able to eat without feeling that my tooth is gonna fall off
i wouldn’t take them out extra early, just eat softer foods, this is because the more frequently and the longer time you take them out the longer it will take because the progress your teeth have made will reset.

I don't generally recommend that my patients eat with their aligners on, but follow the advice of your treatment provider.
I had braces before but the after care wasn't for me but it's about the same pain tolerance and I feel like I'm in high school again 😂
Hope you feel better soon!
I have Invisalign and I fell off really bad because executive dysfunction (autism+adhd). Now I’m being forced to do them again by my mom and I’m trying to find a way to eat without being in pain. The pain never goes away for me mainly because it’s the feeling it leaves after being taken off that irritates me and becomes painful to my brain. Might not ever eat properly with them which sucks but I have no choice in doing them or not because garbage parents Any advice from anyone for this? (I know this vidoe old)
I didn't wear mine for a month and then went back to mr 20 and now I'm in a world of Pain. Don't take any gaps. Never lose or throw away used aligners or you will be as foolish as I am.
