  • I am 99% sure this is my old RS. I owned it in Colorado and put the coilovers, exhaust, wheels, and a few other pieces that I see. Unbelievable to see it make an appearance on such a big channel. I hope you enjoy the car!

    • I sold it about two years ago and it got a few more mods since then. I used it for track days and autocross, hence the Ground Control Coilovers. The Fifteen52 wheels were my daily wheels and I had a set of Enkei ENT03 for track duty. I am excited to see the adventures of my old RS continue.

    • So it's you who bastardised it;). If it was in the UK all of those changes would just ruin the car? Do you think it actually made it better? My mate did a few of the same things and he absolutely ruined the car and he spent a fortune on suspension but it changed the dynamics and took all of the fun away from it... it didn't corner as well and was upset by undulating surfaces and bumps and just couldn't be driven as fast unless it was a perfectly smooth flat road. Other than going in a straight line it was ruined. Will be interesting to know what your feelings on it where? Obviously US roads are different...

  • as a prior Focus RS owner, that oil leak likely is not the banjo fitting for the turbo. the real issue is probably a front cover leak from an improper headgasket replacement job done by the dealer. definitely try the crush washers first but if it leaks again its a front cover leak.

  • Hey Fred 8:48 the oil leak shown there is 90% likely to be the Axle seal in the PTU (known issue from factory). When I rebuilt my block I replaced the seals with the updated version and I've been leak free for 15.000 miles already. The one you need for the PTU is CN1Z-7H424-B

I dont like the Blue really either which makes it even harder. I love the New Toyota GR Corolla AWD 6MT that came out in 2023 and then updated again for 2024. The only thing is that its working with 310hp, but its a 1.5L Turbo 3-Cylinder motor. So proably harder to mod then like a New Civic Type R or something...

    • This is bad/misleading information. The weak point of these engines is NOT the head gasket. You will throw a rod much sooner than hurt a head gasket. Do NOT assume you'll simply encounter head gasket failure prior to seeing catastrophic engine failure.

      @fj06carnone@fj06carnone6 ай бұрын
    • I mean I was in the meetings where we discussed the head gasket failures during testing when they turned up the boost but sure if your head gasket held maybe the next weak point could be rods

      @michaelhannah6949@michaelhannah69496 ай бұрын
    • A lot of the failures with this engine seem to stem from LSPi (low speed pre ignition) people going wide open throttle from low rpm in high gears. The exhaust manifold design and small turbo also contribute to the already high pressure in the combustion chamber becoming even higher. The head gasket is defo a weak spot, being open deck also doesn't help.

  • Great vid as always Tavarish. I love that Focus in that exact colour. The rally-style treatment is perfect and those Lancia Delta Integrale-style wheels are spot on. A colleague of mine has been trying to sell me the same car in the same colour for the last 12 months. It's a bog stock unmodified car that's been absolutely babied so it would probably be a good investment. Downside is that I'd have to sell a turbo barra-powered Falcon F6.🤔😭

  • I'd swap on an aftermarket exhaust that retains the factory valve. Friend of mine had one. I installed the most expensive Mountune kit on it (I think it was called a Stage 4? Maybe?). I think he was right around 400 whp. BTW, according to Mountune, the factory catted downpipe doesn't need to be replaced until you're over 500 whp. I wanted to buy their DP, but they told me not to bother until we were ready to do the shortblock and a bigger turbo.

  • As a current RS owner I would agree the stock suspension is very bumpy and I get a lot of bump steer on mine. Call me crazy but I’m dying to build a custom lower and upper control arm set up for front and rear. I want to build a rally style setup using king coil overs with the right spring rate obviously so its not too soft, and with a adjustable reservoir I think it could be dialed in perfectly. Of course a lot of fab would be needed but once I took it in the dirt I could just imagine how sick a full rally suspension setup would be. Quafe transmission also just recently came out with QBE46Z sequential 5 speed 😏 I’m highly considering it
