  • I know this woman's feeling. My Uncle had an incredibly spicy cat who didn't like anybody named Bramble. I would come across her in her cat bed, and talk to her, and hold my finger out to her. She would sniff it, then hiss, and I would just say, "Okay, see you later", and walk away. Each time I saw her, she would let me get closer to her, and eventually let me touch her. I'd start scratching her ear, and eventually she would hiss when she wanted me to stop, and again, I'd say "Okay, see you later", and leave her alone. But each visit, she let me scratch her longer, and eventually, she would stop hissing, and just move her head away when she wanted me to stop. It all built to one day I was sitting on my Uncle's couch, and Bramble walked up to me. I smiled, and said "Hello", and she jumped up on the couch, and walked right onto my lap, and sat down. She was even purring. It felt like such a victory after about two years of our little visits. I even called my Aunt and Uncle in to see it, and they were amazed to see her sitting on my lap and letting me pet her. Proud moment of my youth, and miss that girl.

  • It is tough to gain the trust of a cat who has like no human social skills, but when you finally do get that confirmation, whether it's a lick, meow, or purr, it is the sweetest most wonderful thing in the world.

    • So my family adopted cats 4 years ago and they were both found in a truck stop. We had them for about a week at this point and Hercules would only come out at night. Well he was playing with a toy and I went into the living room and laid down right in the middle just watching him and no subtle movements. He walked up booped my nose with his, stood on top of my head and then fell asleep on my back. I was the first to have any form of interaction like that with him. It was amazing.

Especially if they were born outside, but the best thing is that he was young enough to be socialized more easily. So glad he found a forever home.......He's gonna bring so much happiness to his now pawrents.

  • I just rescued 3 cats from a motel garage in North Wisconsin. A mama orange tabby, and her 2 kittens, a black tabby and an identical twin to mama. They are still together and living inside being warm and protected. I semi adopted them myself for the first 2 months of the kitties lives so I got them very used to humans and they are all very loving. It was the greatest thing I've ever done besides rescuing my dog.

  • This video shows, this is how you break down the walls of fear and anger, AND not just with cats! the world would be a better place if we have this much love in our hearts for everyone on this planet! Believe it or not, this is a very profound video, because we could do this with people too, and people are a lot harder species to try and be kind to....And if everyone made a huge effort, like this young woman, when they saw a homeless cat or dog, the world would be on it's way to a much more enlightened place....thank you for having such a beautiful heart 💟

  • This lovely story truly made my day! The tenacity of this woman to help a petrified little kitty is beyond amazing. My 14 year old kitty Bubsey girl found me when she was 2 years old living on the street. I believe she belonged to a man who abused her and didn't want her anymore and threw her out on the street. She got in with a ferrel community the day I moved into my new place she found me and ran over to me and plopped down on her back and showed me her belly. It took me approximately 9 months to make my kitty a full in door house cat. I couldn't imagine my life without her. Bubsey girl will be 15 years old in June 23. 💓

  • I took on a kitten like this, probably worse! It took so long to tame him. He bit me and his tooth went through my finger nail when I first got him home. I made lots of mistakes, it probably took much longer, but he eventually came to trust me. It was last Christmas day that he jumped on my lap when I was watching TV. I felt so privileged, he finally accepted me. Now we're best buddies.
