How Oxygen Tanks Are Made? (Mega Factories Video)

An oxygen tank is a pressure vessel for storage and containment of oxygen at above atmospheric pressure. High-pressure gas tanks are also called bottles. Inside the cylinder the stored contents may be in a state of compressed gas, vapor over liquid, supercritical fluid, or dissolved in a substrate material, depending on the physical characteristics of the contents. A typical gas cylinder design is elongated, standing upright on a flattened bottom end, with the valve and fitting at the top for connecting to the receiving apparatus.
The term cylinder in this context is not to be confused with tank, the latter being an open-top or vented container that stores liquids under gravity, though the term scuba tank is commonly used to refer to a cylinder used for breathing gas supply to an underwater breathing apparatus.

  • That reverse extrusion must use enormous pressure. Also the tool must need to be replaced often if they do it cold.

    • Good observation! Extrusion Speed, the speed at which the extrudate exits from the container, is not critical but is typically in the range 50-500 cm/min. Lubrication can substantially reduce the extrusion pressure required.

  • Just wondering if it's possible to be made from a lighter material (like graphene) it would mean a lot

    @teodorpetrushevski3214@teodorpetrushevski32142 жыл бұрын
    • No. Graphene is just one-atom-thick graphite. Graphite itself is extremely brittle in three dimensions (think pencil lead), and would crumble under even a little pressure. The whole buzz around graphene being a miracle material falls away once you take it out of the nano-scale.

    • Not from graphen but aluminum/composite bottles are there and light a/f. But they cost big dollar.

    • Exterior bottom is flat, interior bottom is convex domed as you would expect for strength.
