Well, we do it all in this one. Try to live forever. Learn some LA history. See my drunken college photos. Metal work. Robots. Building-sized 3D printers. And the most insane sugar high of all time. Like really high. Hope you enjoy!
Absolutely love all your stuff. Thank you!
I swear if I see Bryan Johnson again, can we stop giving him attention??? What he is doing is not scientific, its a vanity project - he's taking fistfuls of pills (literally anything and everything that is trendy) and exercising and acting like he's doing methodical research. His supposed reversal of his epigenetic age only comes after fixing his sleep, diet, and exercise so there's no way to know if his mountain of pills is doing anything or if its all just basic 'being healthy', for all we know his pills and therapies are a detriment. If he magically wakes up tomorrow 18 years old we won't be any closer to developing a therapeutic since there are millions of possible interactions going on between everything he is taking, so it's not altruistic like he claims. He's not even keeping up to date on research, he still takes metaformin even though recent studies have shown NO BENIFITS to non-diabetics and it decreases the effects of exercise. He's basically just slamming pills and working out and he gets loads of media coverage because he's rich... stick to science
Thank you for watching!
@AshleeVanceHelloWorld These are interesting innovative techniques but I want to see you talk to companies that are already using these techniques in their manufacturing process to create consumer level products.
I enjoyed it! Thanks 🙌
Literally any problem Start ups: *3D PRINTER*
he is 46, looks like a well maintained 65 year old.
Watching Brian Johnson's rejuvenation routine reminded me that I had a beer in the fridge.
🤣🤣🤣
Great to see American ingenuity and manufacturing again.
again ? it s has never left I mean the american decline talking point has been in the air for the last 40 years REMEMBER Japan was about to overtake the us at the beginning of the 90 S but America is still there at the top not so dominant as it used to be but still in the top two at least in the world and it s really incredible considering that the american hegemony has been a reality for at least a century now
It never left.
China is far ahead😏
@@joseph3036 China is behind in high tech manufacturing and even more in high tech designs.
@@ThePowerLover For now, until they copy and do it cheap.
Man this video was amazing. And you’ve got great self-irony. Truly showing “people that can do” in an entertaining way is itself doing something that just few can do. Keep up the great work, cheers from Italy
Trying to keep the Liberals convinced that their priorities aren't the road to destruction. I wonder where those robots were made? How many Californians moved to red states in the time it took for this video to play? We wouldn't want to talk about the competency crisis.
only thing he doesn't look any younger ! healthy and fit - 100% , but not younger ... hes delusional
Ashlee, as a bloke swiping through KZhead your videos here are hands down some of the best to get people interested in technology (technology isn't just software, it's hardware too). As an engineer, Destin from SmarterEveryDay puts out some of the best manufacturing related videos recently, and had a detailed dive into that robot colony of end tips using to make parts.
As a TV host, I appreciate the kind words!
I love Ashlee Vance documentaries! They're not just very informative but entertaining too, I never get board watching them.
getting high on sugar made me laugh out loud
This isn't necessarily entirely new tech. It's essentially a CMM scanning process in reverse in a way. The robots are using a mathematical model invented by a renault engineer most likely, called Bezier Curves. Probably alot of FFT in there too
This is such a fantastic series.
thx!!!!
facts
thank you!@@AshleeVanceHelloWorld
That guy doesn't look very young. He looks like a guy much older than he actually is trying to look young 🤭
We used to have a lot of manufacturing back in the day, and companies decided to outsource it overseas for cheap labor. It's nice to see this coming back, because this impacts businesses at every level with supply chains, as many learned the hard way with lockdowns.
it was forced out by traitor henry Kissinger and banks in order to Destroy the United States and build up china.
Appeasing the 0.1 percent will not provide many jobs.
it's not "coming back" it's going to be done by the machines and without human intervention or necessity.
@@RubenGonzalez-zk1sk It will require humans to run the machines.
This reminds me of the 90s shows like beyond 2000. Love it!
Got lots more coming
There is a problem with 3D printing outside of Earth though: you need raw materials, so you need mining and smelting, and a boatload of energy. And without a protective atmosphere, a lot of high tech equipment will receive a constant battering of radiation. But I can see a future where repairs and replacements can be made in situ.
The M-type asteroid psyche supposedly has enough gold to make everybody a billionaire. NASA has recently sent a probe that will give us more information in 2029. And it is primarily made of iron and nickel. As for energy, a solar furnace might be the easiest solution.
That venmo guy is crazy
This dude is always putting out some decent stuff
i try!!
Personally, I believe that even if the major motivation is "anti-China" this will still be a good thing for both the US and allies. A newfound focus on education, training, skills, and experience will bring very strong benefits to many communities. I think the last 30 years of development in India is proof of this type of foundational, from the 'ground up' investment can provide immediate and long term benefits.
This is so cool to see future of manufacturing shaped by robots. I would love to see companies that build these robots that shape the future.
They are ''ordinary'' robots, made for all sorts of tasks, like, welding, assembling cars etc.. A few of the big manufacturers are; Mitsubishi Electric, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Epson, Omron, Denso, Kuka, Hitachi, Fanuc. They all make super cool stuff!
He looks scary if you ask me!
As a kid growing up in the UK during the 70's, I was intrigued by the show, Tomorrow's World. This series gives me a similar bump in optimism.
2:52 yeah...everything is possible in LA, even riding a broken backside of car!!! btw, these series is really great. I watched Hello World series before pandemic but it was lost in few years..Thanks again for coming back...
merci!!
Ashlee is such a great host. Glad to see manufacturing coming back to North America.
Cheers, man. Appreciate it
Amazing and truly refreshing to be talking about manufacturing and not mentioning mass prod and China. Go L.A.!
I feel like the US has entered a new Gilded Age. Despite all the problems and inequality of that period, it was also a period of heady innovation and rapid change. For all our problems now this is an exciting time to be alive.
A very refreshing style of making a documentary. Both informative and entertaining. Looking forward to more.
This is awesome. Love seeing the creatives build the future here in my hometown.
They didn't even mention that he uses his son's blood for regular transfusions?
If I didn’t live there for years and seen the degeneracy first hand I would have fallen for the rosy picture of LA
Both simultaneously true.
Similar to SF/Silicon Valley, lot of dystopian things but also incredible innovation and ingenuity happening at the same time.
Another episode of Hello World? Looks very awesome 👏
new ones popping up here every week kzhead.info/channel/PLqq4LnWs3olU-bP2R9uD8YXbt02JjocOk.html
that freak looks like the android from alien.
Glad to see Hello World is back
I think it's really understated the significance that SpaceX and Tesla will make on our future through all the ambitious entrepreneurs that got a jumpstart working at those companies. I heard of a lot of stories where people that worked during the early years of those companies earned enough money to retire decades earlier than average. Of course with the work they put it at their level of expertise and especially under such rough working conditions (elon demands a lot) they earned it. I can't wait to see what they'll all manage to accomplish
Just gotta say, you make great docs! Very cool to see this side of LA.
Considering Air Quality is very Very Very important for aging and longer term health, Brian Johnson sure picked a CRAP city for a home base Haha Haha. That guys does 100 treatments a day but doesn't worry about the SMOG HE is breathing all day long haha
he looks like someone taken right out of the Foundation sci-fi adaptation
informative and with super fun editing, 10/10
Best Vance episode yet! You guys are on to something
I love how this feels so meandering, like you just were walking through town and stopped in to see what amazing thing some people are doing there, but the thesis of the video is super on point!
Amazing Informative and entertaining Video Ashlee!! Thanks!
The dude is aging faster than anyone. There is something called "wear and tear." Time and biological decay are unstoppable. Health, however, is a different matter.
Whoa 🎉 you are right - what is happening to him? I didn't think he was that young but this is horrible. My god. Oh my god.
Sounds like Donald Trump classic belief: the human body has a fixed amount of energy that exercise only depletes 😅
oh, so you already dissect his body and do a lot of research on him directly, so that you could proof it. or you're just pulling bullsh*t straight from your *ss, without any data to back it up
"Biological decay is unstoppable" immortal Jellyfish: "I don't care"
@@shazmosushi But he has a point, most of the "anti-aging" is about "living less", like consuming less energy, metabolizing less.
I seriously hope we don't go to Mars before we can figure out how to look after Earth first..
5 dollar says Ashlee Vance outlives the venmo zombie
Ashlee makes some of the best content, I've read his Elon Musk book which is also pretty good but the videos just really capture his attitude and new information really well.
loved this series but wished there was more convo around real life human manufacturing jobs, what the future could look like for the millions of ppl who don’t have cushy brainy jobs (esp those who don’t aspire to that)
Thank you Ashlee! Missed your stories
Great adventure Ashlee! Love your work.
thank you!!!
I love this channel. Here, we find how human creativity drive us to things we never though possible.
Thats a brilliant way to lower the bar of entry for common people to engineer sophistocated manufactured parts. Empowering the entreprenuers, inventors, creatives, makers and doers alike. That would be so cool if one day anyone could go pay to have something custom manufactured. As long as the paywall isnt too large, it could be a prototype revolution.
The guy at the beginning is the most frightening Human I've seen in months. Thank you Bloomberg.
It could be said in one word that they are 3D-PRINTING.
Its great that manufacturing is coming back to America. And not just low, mid level stuff, but high-end cutting edge stuff.
“They mostly relied on the talent of individuals.” LOLOL
I love this guy.. I've missed you dude. This my favourite seris on KZhead by far.
All the new ones coming will pop in here kzhead.info/channel/PLqq4LnWs3olU-bP2R9uD8YXbt02JjocOk.html&si=jTIJ7OlygCGzWhDd
I always look forward to these
Enjoyed the 3D printing lab tours. There is no doubt that this technology will be huge in the near future!
hello world award is fuc*ing awesome
Pomona '93 Media Studies here! Didn't do nothin' with that degree either! Great piece, Ashlee Vance.
I love how he exits the confectioner covered in powdered sugar.
Thank you for your excellent and unique reporting
Didn't know Bryan Johnson was in LA, pretty ironic considering the amount of smog there, that'll easily take 10 years off your life right there. Even in this video you could clearly see the smog.
Venmo Homie's super wierd and obsessed with anti aging. So eventually he'll break the mystery and hit his head on a rock. So all that shit's useless.
First time catching your content. Loved the L Aid back presentation. Thank you.
"What is it about LA that makes such innovations possible?" Money Ashlee... Money Most of the world is still trying to get clean running water, electricity and internet.
Not true
The editorializing takes away from the level of craftsmanship. This is amazing stuff.
Amazing video! Needs more views.
3D printing revolution will be the new steam engine revolution(in productivity terms) that we were waiting for. People have always overestimate computing revolution.
It's been a minute since I geeked at seeing some server racks, but seeing full racks of servers with water cooling rigs on it and I immediately was like "Oh what the heck are they processing that bad boy!"
Love to see more of this kind of material!
Amazing project.
That level of obsession with avoiding the aging process is in itself a symptom of anxiety, which can accelerate aging. Which ironically means that the more he wants it, the harder he has to work at it to get results.
To be honest he looks older than his age of 46. A typical 46 year old looks younger than him.
What is the point in adding years to your life if you spend all day just trying to add years to your life. Not exactly living is it?
21:53 - The editing and performances of this shot and the "Sugar Ashlee" rambling cokehead one right after it are very funny and take this series to the next level: not just fun and really well made, but its creators having fun while making it.
Drink drops, in Champagne !?! Savages!
I'm Asian, and this is what a envy about the US. So many ingenuity and teamwork.
That chain really cracked me up. But to be honest what an extraordinary item!
It's beloved
Love it! Great episode!
Wow it's a fascinating future for automatic manufacturing.
Glad Ashley is back!
2:32 😅😂😂 that’s strangely cathartic
11:50 at fast speed we could notice that sheet is deformed in the process - I think that might be main constraint that could decrease precision of vertical displacement for large sheets of material
So many amazing companies! A great source of inspiration!
Best content I’ve ever seen. Please keep it up
Very inspiring. Hello from Philippines
TV light therapy HAHAHA love it.
That live forever guy does not look young for his age. Why is there such a mass delusion around him?
Really digging this slower, quieter, more focused and personal format that YT presenters are finding.
epic, saw this on smarter everyday!
well done. make this a series!
it is a series! kzhead.info/channel/PLqq4LnWs3olU-bP2R9uD8YXbt02JjocOk.html
Anyone knows what's the song starting at 3:27 ?
"The speed at which i'm aging is less than a 10yo." A 10yo and an 80yo age at the same rate.
Its crazy how little people know about aerospace in SoCal.....
Wait until the next episode . . .
Because it’s overshadowed by Hollywood and celebrity culture
Getting high on all that sugar was a nice touch with the edit. Well done team. Very entertaining all the way through.
"We have more lasers than anyone in the world" "We move more data than netflix" Yep that guy is a startup CEO alright
This is so cool. Old-n-new craftsmanship. I have spent plenty of time in LA cty.
The video doesn't start talking about manufacturing till about 3:10
Sugar Lab's Exit is the Best. Great Coverage Mate
Once we see real changes in standard MASS manufacturing tech, that's when real change will happen. The metal forming robots help huge companies save money but that's kind of it for now.
Can you imagine the position of strength we would be in if we made our own stuff?
