You know how all these celebs are doing cameos? I messaged Goldberg back when the pandemic started asking him to wish my kid a happy 7th birthday... Just did it as a long shot. This guy emails me back with a video attached... Tells my son "happy birthday, you're next". Such an incredible guy. If I ever meet him I have to shake his hand and thank him in person.
I’ve met him in person and he’s such a nice dude. We speak on twitter through DMs from time to time and when I met him he called me by name. I was blown away.
@@lKevol i think you met the wrong goldberg
I'm 34 now. I met him in an Escondido grocery store in 1998 I think. My friend and I walked to the store and I saw Goldberg in an aisle. I ran and got friend and told him Goldberg was in the store. My friend was like old, "Not uh" then we walked around the aisle and ill never forget the look on my friends face. We were 10 and 11 years old. We walked up to him and he greeted us and then he went out to his car and gave us posters that he had.
@@iiTzLurks Nah, you wish 💋
@@christophercampbell2929 ah, 1998... I bet that was the highlight of your life at that point. I'm glad you have fond memories of him that lasted 20 plus years! Thank you for sharing!
It's amazing how good the wrestling interviews are. The guys are super interesting and multifaceted
When they are in a free world they can show their true self, in the WWE they're stuck to a script
@@shawnwhite08sw That's exactly what show business is.
Watching the Goldberg picking up the giant live was still the greatest thing I've ever seen. That was superhuman for me watching that at 6 years old
Same for me at age 10
Same!!
I'm old . I was 19 when that happened.
Most impressive wrestling move ever. Sheer strentgh.
I remember that like i remember watching hulk hogan slam Andre the giant.
Bill helped me push a man's motorcycle up in a trailer in Rapid City. Back in 99. Went back in the bar , bought each other couple rounds. Right personable man. Good interview.
Damn that’s a great story. He was a busy man in '99!
Nice!
I bet he was a good person to have helping on a job like that.
Yeah it's true, I was there. I was the bar.
Was it your brother Harley's bike?
Goldberg is one of the nicest celebrities out there. Stand up guy and very appreciative of his fans.
I legit stopped the podcast today when Goldberg was introduced to go watch a vid of the Goldberg chants. Nothing used to send chills down my spine as a child like his entrance
WCW was playing those chants over a speaker. It wasn't all fans.
Make Goldberg a regular on the show. He's got endless and lit stories to tell. I haven't watched pro wrestling since the early 2000's. But Goldberg was the one guy I thought who said, "to hell with the script, I'm squashing this guy in as little time as possible." I knew it was scripted but he sold it like no one else during his 173-0 run.
Every time there’s a new guest people comment “he needs to be a regular” 😂
“lit” oof lol
He really didn't "sell" anything. He never said to hell with the script, and wasn't even a good wrestler..... And Chris Jericho actually kicked his ass for real in the locker room. 😂😂😂
@@mattbarker1411 ......... was Hogan a great wrestler? When Austin became the GOAT was he a great wrestler? The Rock wasn't a great wrestler..... tell me who is one of the greatest that is considered the GOAT besides Ric Flair.
@@brentlyhowell9486 that dude Matt Barker definitely a Brett hart crybaby fan, everyone knows Goldberg is the goat😂😂😂
Goldberg is a natural. His entrance to the wrestling ring was and still is one of the best ever. I watched him in WCW during his winning streak (including him beating Hulk Hogan to become the World Heavyweight Champion). He is truly one of the best ever.
Goldberg would be a great football or mma commentator, he should do more sports based stuff after WWE.
He did MMA announcing.
Sideline interviewer
Pat Mcafee is one of the only people in WWE that feels like a real person. He is amazing at his job. AEW could really use him and he would fit great. He could be the Mean Gene or NEW Bobby the Brain.
AEW really needs to ditch Schiavone and Ross at the announce position. I loved the Monday Night Wars as much as anyone, but those two sound like they're really struggling to showcase what modern wrestling is. Schiavone would be a good backstage Mean Gene guy, but Ross should strictly be an off-air producer or something, IMO.
@@boots_33 Taz and Excalibur are a hilarious duo on Dark. They should have those 2 do Dynamite.
Where am I supposed to go and will I get hurt if I come over there paying bills unless you were just joking about it
Why would he leave WWE!??? 😂😂😂
Pats great but growing up in the 80's. With all due respect there will never be another mean gene or Bobby the brain. Life long mountaineer fan and pats up there with Daryl Talley and Amos zeroua. Or major Harris and Jeff hostetler.
21:25 elbow event
I'm 37 now, I was 12 in 97 and I was a WCW boy over WWF, that alone should tell you how much of a LEGEND I think this man was. When he lost the streak it felt like my dad got stabbed, sadly, I think he wasn't properly booked ever since.
I saw Goldberg playing blackjack at the golden gate hotel about 3 years ago or so. He got up to get some money at the atm. I said hey Goldberg he looked at me snarled and walked away quickly lol. It was great.
Yea I remember that day!!!! I was the snarl
I remember watching videos on YT in how Goldberg's streak ended. Scott Hall with the taser then Nash with I think the second jackknife of the match? Goldberg is a perfect guest for this show with his football experience and WCW/WWE experience. Thank God his arm wasn't amputated btw I didn't even know about that.
Cattle prod.
Kevin Nash and his ego!
@@billhogue9523 false. Nash didn't want to win that way. Look it up.
@@mattbarker1411 Yeah he did. Nash mistook New York chanting "Goldberg sucks" out of loyalty to Hall & Nash in WWF as "Goldberg is getting stale, time to take the belt off and give it back to Hogan"
Gotta love the Clique!
It would be awesome if y’all could get Vince on the show for an interview. 🔥💯
No Chance in Hell of that happening
Vince who?
Yes 🔥🔥🔥
@@Makai77 vince lombardi who else? (sarcasm)
Vince! Yes 👍
The one reason I love watching Goldberg because he came out nowhere. Walk into WCW as a nobody and became champion. He had the biggest streak ever. Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is one thing but Goldberg streak is hall of fame worthy. And being inducted into wrestling hall of fame in my hometown of New Orleans is pretty cool. Even though he was a Georgia bulldog and a Atlanta falcon.
Goldberg is in incredible shape for 55. Amazing.
No doubt. I'm two years older than him and in decent shape (surfing daily on Oahu's North Shore every winter) but there's no way I'd ever challenge him to anything.
Yep he puts the right thing in his body lets say 😉
I thought he was older.
He's in great shape for any age!
@@theglizz5797 Steriods?
I'm sorry but when Pat mentioned Georgia Bulldogs I couldn't help but think about Charles Barkley's Georgia Bulldogs mascot comment 😂
One of my favorite wrestlers. Saw him in Minneapolis a long time ago. Thanks for having this living legend on
This is the best sports show out there. I can’t watch the other shows! Awesome job Pat And the Gang!
Great interview Pat! You and the Boys really deserve your big payday!
Bret shouldn't have ran into the kick so fast.
Bill was my childhood idol, my favorite wrestler, I watched the longest yard million times as a kid, this guy is amazing, and now my favorite KZheadr/podcaster/seriousxmhost/wwe commentator/punterofthedecade/entrepreneur/generousdonator/most entertaining man on KZhead, pat mcafee met eachother is so amazing
So McAfee has Stone Cold on when it’s Stone Colds birthday and has Goldberg on when it’s Goldbergs birthday. Another strange coincidence between Stone Cold and Goldberg.
Triple h too
Met Goldberg in Fargo either in ‘98 or ‘99, after a WCW Nitro event at the Ramada Inn. 15 minutes before Bill walked in the lounge, ol Flexy Lexy Lugar threw a guy over a table because the guy patted him on his shoulder. Talked with Bill for about 15 minutes, what a tremendous, down to earth guy. Never brought up anything about wrestling, just talked about his football days and life in general. He was very appreciative of us because 99% of his interactions with fans is all about wrestling. Had 3 shots of either Jack Daniels or Jose Cuervo and a couple of Budweiser’s. Terrific Human Being.
Pat, please get Bron Breakker AKA Bronson Steiner on the show! Former Baltimore Raven who also happens to be the son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner.
The Mike Tyson angle was brilliant. Goldberg was to wrestling what Tyson was to boxing. Terrifying, and at his peak, no one else at their peak could beat him. Hope he comes back on, heck of a dudes dude 🤙
Lol
Only Bill wasn’t that much hated and criticized like Tyson was. But both here a bunch of juggernauts.
I haven't been a fan of wrestling in years but when I was, Goldbert was one of my favorites right up there with Rock, Stone Cold and HBK.
Please do more interviews with more of the attitude era wrestlers. You guys do a much better job than than any others I've seen.
Pats face when he realized goldberg said his dad wasnsome kind of gynecologist was priceless
I’m from the uk and have stumbled across Pats Channel. This is awesome.
That was awesome!!! Much love to this podcast for letting us live our dream through you! Bunch of good dudes talking to good people :)
One of the best guest interviews I've ever watched on the show.
As I ve already said on WWE for His birthday...I don't care what People say...Goldberg is a Freaking Legend!
He went to my highschool (Edison preparatory high Tulsa Oklahoma) and returned a few years back and it was cool as hell!
Can we get Gillberg and Goldberg on a call please?
I love Pat and how cool these wrestling guys are as themselves. There is good in this world 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Thunder in Salisbury, MD The great limousine incident, scary to see it live but man one of the most memorable moments to ever come out of Salisbury!
Jim Cornette liked McAfee's work on NXT. Ask him to come on.
technically he is persona non grata in WWE cause of all his comments, and working w him would put Pat in a bad position w WWEak
Great Interview
When both the interviewer and guest both do research about each other it makes the interview amazing. Shows respect as well. I’m fairly new to Pats shows but he’s cool, I like his questions and reactions. 👍🏻
The Man! I loved Bobby Heenan's takes on Goldberg...fun stuff...
As a kid my dad would give me the Jackhammer onto the bed while we watched Nitro - what a legend
Pat got Bisaccia on the show nice
Salute to Pat for doing this interview or getting him to come on his platform.. In the famous words of the late Bobby ‘The Brain’ Henan, “ *THAT’S THE MAN!!* “
You mean it's da man Goldberg
Woah, I didn’t know Goldberg was from Tulsa. I’ve lived here for about 15 out of 27 years of life. Wild I never heard that before, love him even more!
Goldberg: thank you man I appreciate it, I'm an old fucker 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂
Would love to see Goldberg become a regular 😎
I love Goldberg. Him and sting are the 2 best wrestlers ever
I remember casually watching WCW in the day, I was always watching WWF. I remember when I switched over I saw this jacked freak just totally clean house! I was amazed and hooked.
I've always been a huge fan of Bill Goldberg.
WCW represent. Golden age of wrestling
Can’t wait to see you in February at the giant center for Friday night Smackdown!
Wow wow wow...youre in the Mcafee comment section...you meant SmackDahnnnnnm
*woah woah woah Or whoa
Hype for that show
I’ll never forget that starcade 98 match with the “tazer” I remember that moment in the same way I remember 9/11. I was devastated
He's also made appearances on Demolition Ranch
I drove by there an hour ago. It's my hometown Salisbury md
You know it’s a patty mcafee video when the audio is 4 times louder than usual
I saw one of Goldberg’s first matches live, it wasn’t even on TV and he was a curtain jerker. Damn that was a long time ago!
Yup, true story!!!! I was the curtains
met goldberg at an airport when i was a little kid. Nicest guy ever.
Would have been absolutely fire if you played his theme walking through the studio 😂🔥
Simply awesome. I loved a couple car shows Goldberg did. Hes awesome. great interview shaht aht
Goldberg and Edge were my early teens, tuning in every week to watch their storylines were epic. Man I used to love watching and being enthralled. Those guys were my favourites but almost everyone on the roster were fun/entertaining to watch. The true golden age of wrestling. Wish it was still the same.
Great interview! Pat McAfee is the PEOPLE'S CHAMP!
I have been wondering why punters don't do coffin corner punt anymore. Mystery solved.
I like watching Pat McAfee show. Interviewing these wrestlers. Just finished watch Steve Austin. Now lm watching Bill Goldberg. 2/20/23.
Bill is a stand up guy and I would love a chance to get to met him.
I love the subtle tnt flex lol trynna son AEW
Pat try to get Vince on the show that’d be amazing
I hope Goldberg doesn’t put off his shoulder surgery. A family member did that and it caused serious neck issues, which required fusion. Huge lifestyle decline in just a few short years. Also, what an absolute legend. Watching his spear compilations raises my T to inhuman levels
Love goldberg especially during his speech when he mentioned watching the von erichs with his grandmother
The nostalgia is real
I’m glad they didn’t bring up Brett hart I’m sure Goldberg is tired of hearing that at this point nothing can be undone it’s sad and unfortunate but glad they didn’t beat the dead horse
What's funny is how everyone wants to put all the blame on Bill. Yes the kick was bad but the chair shot Bret took to the head the next night on nitro is what most likely ended brets career.
This Pat Mcafee guy is so good dude is killing it at WWE
I seriously thought you got a rich bissachia interview
I remember watching his first match ever, immediately knew he was going to be special. So many of my characters in the wrestling games were modeled after him haha
Bill Goldberg is an all around amazing human being
Pat is such a good interviewer.
i love Pat, hes my guy, but does he ask Bill about how he feels about Bret Harts comments about him being a 0
love the mad respect for Vinny Mac hes truly is amazing met and talked to him 2 times amazing
Great history lesson on punting from McAfee
How'd that defense do in their last game though....🐸☕👀😂...ROLL DAMN TIDE 🐘🐘🐘
When I was in kindergarten, I charged a 5th grader and he flipped me over his head because I tried to spear him like Goldberg for picking on my sister.
It's odd, at times those who are deemed arrogant, difficult to work with, and come across as the worst types in wrestling are actually the good guys, whereas those that are seen as heros in the business tend to be the ones that have had littered pasts with politicking and backstabbing
You should find and interview Gilbert…
Epic interview "WHO'S NEXT?"
THANK YEW GOLDBERG 🙏🏾
I just seen this interview and now I'm dying to see You and Goldberg as a tag team
Goldberg is a wrestling legend!!! Top 5 all-time behind The Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker and Masked Kane aka The big red machine.
Behind my ass,he was a better athlete than all of them
Thank you Pat, grew up watching these Wrestlers. Was cool over the last 2 years to see goldberg, Stone cold, Vince, Brock, Taker.... Etc.. Thanks
GOLLLLLDBERG GOLLLLLDBERG GOLLLLLDBERG
Goldberg is the man my second favorite wrestler behind Store Cold Steve Austin! 173-0! Goldberg! that was epic match a no holds barred match crown Jewel!
Favorite human alive. Finally give berg his credit due. The legend
The "westernization" of that part of the world. It reminds me of Rocky IV, at the end of the movie with the crowd that turns & pops for Rocky. Also where we all grow & learn from each other. I loved Goldberg, that time of wrestling had the greatest crowds. Hot crowds always increase any event or segment. Some pro sports, the Ram's dome, seemed to try to keep the crowds down. The Dome had bad lighting, kept it darker in the upper area like a stage play. That's why I'll always love open stadiums and college ball.
This comment would’ve been better without the reference to Western propagandized messaging from a Cold War era movie.
Rams Dome aka The Battle•Dome in St.Louis?
@@robertnewell4054 yes sir

Pat ,Enzo & Cass would be a dope stable
Pats the man
didn't Asuka surpass Goldberg's "Streak"?
Da Man!!! In my Bobby the Brain Heenan voice
Hell yeah!!
I had no idea Goldberg's brothers went the the university of Minnesota
You can see the almost laugh when talking about undefeated streak.
Yah cuz its meaningless for true sportsmanship records
True legend 55 still a beast an can lift anybody 💪🗣Goldberg Goldberg Goldberg Goldberg!!!!
