  • They're making Jeeps better than ever. When they dropped in the Pentastar Engine in 2012 and better interiors it was a huge improvement. 285 horsepower (Pentastar) VS 205 in older models. Wranglers are no longer sluggish. I dont hate 4 doors but I own and love 2 doors.

    • Joe Pinto Guess what the base engine is on a 2015 Dodge Challenger... Yep, same engine that Chrysler puts in the Jeep. I think it is a great engine for the jeep. Not so sure how it would work in a full bodied muscle car though.

  • Thank you for doing a review of the Jeep "IN MUD"!!! I hat reviews with jeeps on dry trails. Its the mud trails that really show what a short wheel base 4x4 can do. I remember doing circles around other vehicles with my old CJ7 on the north shore of Hawaii after a storm. (I won't say names to keep from getting flamed) The other vehicles got in and out but mine did it easier and faster.

  • question if there is a 20 inches water obstacle for the trail rated badge how did the anything with the 3.7l get the badge seeing how that jeep them selves said anything more than 6 inches of water could destroy the engine???

  • @BORN2LOSE13 I'd give the edge to the FJ...but only because the Wrangler has an ancient engine and 4-speed auto gearbox...other wise they are bit supremely off-road capable and fun.

  • I just put factory/dealer tow hooks on my just purchased 2005 GC (ie WK). They're massive, and mount much more solidly on the WK than the previous WJ, which were weak on side pulls. Also a 7000 lb dealer/factory hitch on the back for recovery. No skid plate upgrade yet. A Jeep friend likes BFG Long Trail tires due to the steel belts + thick tread, which we need over the sharp blasted rocks in strip mine country. I've seen mixed reviews.

  • @bcv001 The conditions in this video, both snow and mud, would be best suited to an AT tire. Snow tires have low tread block clearing capability for mud, and an AT tire has molded siping for snow traction with moderate tread block clearing. Given the environment in which this video was shot, the best option would be MTs that were siped by a third party tire dealer/installer, an aggressive AT tire, or a mild MT tire with molded sipes (Toyo Open Country MTs come to mind).

  • I agree that the newer Fiat owned Chrysler/Jeep stuff is inferior...sad to say because I have been a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Jeep enthusiast since I was a kid. But I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition. This was the absolute last year for solid cast iron blocks, solid cast iron heads and 4 solid axles with the Selec-Trac 4WD system. The Grand Cherokee now has 220K plus miles and runs like the day I drove it off the Jeep dealership lot. I build cell sites on top of mountains in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. This vehicle has climbed paths - no more than partially cleared cow paths - to mountaintop sites that I have watched Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Nissan an even Land Rovers not be able to negotiate. Sorry Mr. 2010V6RAV4...I wouldn't trade my JGC for four of anything that Toyota makes.

  • Hi Guys, here is my 50 cents. It all depends on what is your exspectation of the car. Some people just like to be driven from point A to point B and have reliable car. For me car that I drive should be intertaining. I've driven Toyota Kluger 2014 and Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo Diesel 2014 the same day I must say that Toyota ones again prooved to be the most boring car. The only 2 Toyotas I enjoyed driving was FJ and 86, the rest of them are very boring to drive. By the way I bought the Jeep GC 3 weeks ago and love it so far.

    @80zbaby53@80zbaby537 жыл бұрын
    • Thotbreak Kid depends what your going to be doing. Unless you are going to be off-road rock crawling 65% of the time or more. Your gonna want a rubicon. The others do just fine if your. It rock crawling or going off-road more than 2 times a week. The rubicon has a rear locking diff and a front locking diff. Which on the other jeeps if one tire had less traction all the power will be sent to it and it will just spin. A locking diff locks it so if there's a tire with less traction it can't slip because it's locked to the other side and the one with more traction will spin as well. Which is great on rocks and can help in snow and mud as well just not as much. The next thing is they have a front electronic sway bar disconnect. Which allows for more articulation of the front axle. Best for rock crawling again. They also have the option for a low 4:10 rear axle ratio. My opinion is get the Sahara. If you have any more questions ask away.

  • Considering the tires (other then the Rubicon), one needs to remember this while these rigs are making thier rounds on the test track. I like how it's mentioned that "tow hooks" are need but unless you "pay" for these items, there are NO snatch points on the Liberty. Not sure about the compass but most KJ's have them off the showroom floor. Un cool Chrysler. You don't put a "jeep" on the street without snatch points. No hooks, no stinking badge. Period.

    • Read the warranty. If it breaks because of something you did then it is your fault. Most people do more then they should when off roading.

  • pretty cool I didn't know the trail rated actually meant anything. Of course the trails shown could be done with my stock 1 ton ram with mud tires. Since, The chief engineer is out there I would assume these trails were actual trails they certify the jeeps on. If not they are just a bunch of kids screwing around in the snow. Nothing worthy of a video...

    • testing is done on the rubican trail. Pick up trucks would have a hard time due to brake over angle. Not saying its impossible but harder.

    • They should have. Some of you are riding around with no underbody protection or recovery hooks. That’s scary.
