Yeah F2L will be hard at first but the more you practice the times will come down... I went from solving F2L from 26 seconds to 4 seconds... practice lookahead it actually helps

Helpful tutorial. Thank you!👍👍 Do keep making videos. I like your videos and the way you explain.
This clears up so many things for me!! Thank you!
It's like you read my mind! Wanted to check it out after seeing that average.
I started learning some basic concepts of roux yesterday and am really happy to find this video today. It was understandable for me! Thanks for this video.
Most people would disagree with me with this.. But roux Is undoubtedly the best speedcubing method. I’ve been cubing for a year, and for 7 months I’ve been using beginners Method. Then I wanted to learn an advanced method for 3x3. To make a rough estimate, 4 out of 5 people first try Cfop. Also me, and I realized that it was really hard to understand. Intuitive F2L was hard to understand, then OLL had 10 algorithms (which seemed a lot at the time) and pll had 6 algorithms (which was fine) but the thing is, if I want to improve I could use algorithmic F2L and try it out. Then 57 OLL ALGORITHMS! that’s a pretty high number, it’s not hard to memorise all, but it’s the recognition that is really hard. And then there are 21 PLL algorithms, but 1/5 of them are Gperms, which are a nightmare to memorise, Let’s not even talk about V perms, N perms Are 20 moves, which kind of ruins the move count. F perms Aren’t short also. I think they are about 20. Moves too, meaning that moves for cfop can be 55-60 but maybe a bit more. There are 494 Zbll algorithms, that’s kinda ridiculous, but what about the 3915 1LLL algorithms. In roux, making the First and second block is very easy, then making all the corners oriented (CMLL) Can be done with just Cll, a method on 2x2, or Ortega (also a method on 2x2.) LSE is where people get stuck, but it isn’t hard. You need to get to a point where you have 3 bad edges at the top, and 1 at the bottom. Then Do 1 of 2 algorithms, which are both 3 moves long. Solving the L/R edges is easy. Get both of the edges on the bottom face, then intuitively solve them, which is very easy. It has less move count. Also, kian mansour got a OH WR average with roux, and Sean Villanueva got the 3rd sub 6 average. I want to try out roux. When I started CFop, I was getting 1 minute 50 second solves, to 2 minute and 20 second solves, but with roux, the slowest I got was 2 minutes, and fastest was 38 seconds. I only started roux yesterday. I average 34 seconds btw. With CFOP
J perm , will you make a more basic video on roux method from the beginning to the end including correct way to pair up edges and corner pieces for making blocks. (And how to insert them ). I want to learn. I’ve studied CFOP so much that learning roux seems difficult. Thanks for whatever you can do to help.
Dots is typically done with the E2 thing you explained, however there are ways to predict and skip it but they are kind of advanced (typically seen while doing the left and right edges)
I think on 8:03 (Double Swap) it's better to start with M2 (because you end with U2), otherwise you end with M2 and have a chance to get a DNF by skipping one M move accidentally or overshooting.
Good point!
Yeah
faxual man
how do you do edge orientation i don't understand what he is saying
@@JPerm is there a tip for learning algorithms faster
Love u jperm u really are the best cuber of all time u taught me everything zz(almost),cfop and roux!
re: what roux solvers do for dots for the case where you just have the centers, most people will try to skip it, but if you are left with it the E2 alg is better. for the one where you just have edges, people will just cancel the AUF into (U2) then the double vertical swap alg, so it'd be (U2) M' U2 M2 U2 M' (U2)
dude this is some fucken 2012 youtube shit
Good guide! I'm 2 days into Roux from beginners method. I am aweful at algorithms, but I picked up a better understanding of some of the LSE cases from this - 3 swap especially. My only struggle is permuations now, but I got tje J-perm down, so at least I'm able to solve it from memory.
Being a CFOP user, this thing is extremely intuitive and easy! I might even shift to Roux method. But, all credits to Dylan cause I tried learning from Kian Mansour, and I'm not saying his channel's bad, but I didn't understand the way Kian taught. Anyway, great video, and keep it up man. (p.s. Also, what happened to your Patreon thing: you stopped writing blogs last year)

If you know the Ortega method, just pair up the edges with random corners for the block, then have the corners of the first layer scrambled, but then just move put to the top layer, do 2x2 Oll and then pbl, and then you don’t need to find corner edge pairs, you can just pair up any corner with any edge, then do pbl. Instead of solving the L/R edges first, would it be less efficient to solve the bottom edges first, then use either H, Z or U perm for the top layer edges? That's intuiteively much easier for me, it seems like a pain to have to pair up the L/R edges.

@@theGreatCommenterofKZhead i got that you need also to look at side pieces, not only to ones. And it defies from which orientation you should start the algorithm
@@Megoover Yes i also figured it out! I even solved it!
If you have 2 edges: (1 on top, and 1 on bottom:) put the 2 edges in the same slice (both in M slice, ) but not right over eachother. (If bad edge on bottom is in front; bad edge on top should be on back, and vice versa) once here do M’ U/U’ M/M’. If the bad edge in the bottom is at the back though, start with an M followed by U/U’ M/M’ this will leave you with 3 bad on top, and 1 bad on the bottom, which is the “arrow”. From here refer to what the video shows.
I also faced that problem but some of the cases you'll have to refer to the algs J-perm gave and some you can use observation. For instance, M' U*(in any direction) M*(in any direction) always flips the UF,UR and UL(upper front, upper right and upper left edges) so with this knowledge you can easily solve all 2 bad edges cases on your own. As for the rest you can refer to the video.
This really helped me

in oh imo it's better to do SM dots unless you can eido all your U2s, in which case MU is better also E2 M E2 M' is the only dot case worth doing M2 for (cause when it's the E2 M E2 M case you can just do U2 M' U2 M2 U2 M' U2, preferably AUFing the correct way in 4b
