  • The desire of a son to make his dad proud is a powerful and beautiful thing.

  • Well, I want to appreciate the UFC for not forgetting their past champion. Even though he may not be in the spotlight currently, yet they are using his story to inspire others. I have been separated from my son, not of my own will, for several months now, I miss him terribly, sometimes my heart is sore missing him. But I just emailed this documentary to him so that he watches it. Kamaru Usman, what a son! What a champion! Even though his father was locked up for years, he never disregarded him in his decision making. Kamaru's mother, what a wife! Even though her husband was locked up for years, she never disregarded him or usurp his place as the head of their home. This family is a model family, their rooting in the African culture, good raising and upbringing, the discipline in the Nigerian family, all these things came through for them. I celebrate the Usmans abeg.

    • Not taking anything away from us man but a video like this about Demetrius Johnson would have been wonderful. The guy is a true warrior and been working hard in his early career to even be able to compete. But Dana is a petty man.

  • I'm no professional athlete, but I know that JOY he is speaking of! My father was there and filled with joy when I turned my life around, joined the US Army and rose through the ranks. He was also an Army veteran, a stoic man, but seeing me accomplish what I set out to do brought him joy! Travel well pop!

    • The competition he beat is much superior than GSP’s and he was very active and all his title fights were entertaining except Masvidal 1.

      @ripevanwinkle494@ripevanwinkle4943 ай бұрын
    • @@ripevanwinkle494 You're entitled to your opinion. Since that's what these GOAT debates ultimately boil down to. I love Usman. He's a legend in my mind and he always will be. He has one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring life stories. But, his case for welterweight GOAT is not all that convincing. 9 title fights, won 6, 5 consecutive title defenses. Two were against Jorge Masvidal, who was never a championship caliber fighter. His two against Covington (who also crushed Masvidal) for sure his most impressive defenses. Also one defense against Gilbert Burns ( who also smashed masvidal). Then back to back losses against Leon. GSP 14 title fights, 13 Title fights victories, 9 consecutive defenses, ended his career on a 13 fight win streak spanning 2007-2017 (despite going up and beating Bisping). He still holds many records in the welterweight division today, despite not fighting for the last 7 years. The entire premise behind "The competition is superior" holds no weight. You fight the competition you are presented with. New fighters benefit from their predecessors. Remember this In the years to come people will be saying the same thing, in and attempt to discredit Usmans career/all time status. I've seen it since the days Gracie/Shamrock, followed by Hughes and Penn, etc.. I'll be defending him then, as I defend GSP now. You rank based upon accomplishments and merits, not the time period in which they competed. Otherwise we might as well say Anderson Silva is a Bum, Liddell and Couture pure garbage, etc..

Usman is African like it or not Dricus...whether or not Dricus becomes champion he will never be the FIRST African champion, that road has already been paved by the 3 African kings.
