When you live in bear country, you find ways to cohabitate with nature, and she didn't seem to push herself on the bears. So, I think this is a little bit of an exception. Just my observation.

Of course when it happens it is very tragic but when you consider that they are around people all the time, it is remarkable that attacks more often. These tiger reserves do not have fences keeping the tigers in. The Indian Wildlife agency have put monitors on some of these wild tigers and they were shocked to see them roaming thru villages transversing hundreds of miles looking for a mate as they are so few of them, and with decreasing habitat. Yet people seldom see them. They had a documentary of one male, given the name Broken Tail, as his tail was slightly deformed. A few villagers remember seeing him from the time he was born. A couple of women collecting firewood in his habitat suddenly came upon him, he was quietly hiding trying to stay out of view. He snared at them and walked away. The villagers began to really like him because even though he was fully grown, he always walked away when they met up. They put a monitor on him, and found out he traveled through some of the most populated areas where people lived. The villagers were terribly sad one day when they found his carcass. He had been hit by a train and died near the tracts. It was surprisingly to see these villagers get so emotional about his death. He was 'their tiger'. Normally the Indian wildlife officers are supposed to always collect their remains but made an exception as the villagers wanted to give their tiger a proper burial with full honors.

What you see as cute, and she believes to be Ok puts her and other people in danger, and all but signs a death warrant for all these bears. They will at some point have to be destroyed because they lost that normal fear of people. Bears are very intelligent and opportunistic. Once they learn of a food source, they will continue until it is depleted. Once it is, meaning she leaves, or stops feeding them, they will become emboldened and push their way into her home, or a neighbor. You can allege Mark is being negative here, but in reality your lack of knowledge or education prevents you from understanding what she is doing is not cute or adorable, it is sealing their fate and they will pay the price for her irresponsible behavior. Bears are beautiful, and I see them often on my 80 acres in North Idaho as well, however i leave them alone and they remain wild which is safer for us and them. • This is not beautiful, amazing or a human to animal connection. It is irresponsible and with the intelligence and learned behavior of bears, will likely force them to be destroyed. They have just learned to associate humans with food and will exhibit this behavior for life, and in the case of sows, pass this behavior to future generations. NEVER feed bears. Susan Kehoe is the woman in the video. Through the years in multiple instances she has been arrested, charged multiple times for feeding bears, and prosecuted for these crimes. All the while like her "genuine honesty" in this video, claiming she did not feed them, though 3:32 and their very behavior proves otherwise. She feeds them sunflower seeds, to which she has in the past claimed they were for "squirrels and birds", yet there are no bird/squirrel houses, or squirrels activity noted. On one occurrence she actually called Wildlife Services because she thought someone was hunting on her land, and when they arrived, they found massive amounts of sunflower seeds, peanut butter and more all over the yard with immense amounts of bear scat indicating many bears not only were in the area, but unnaturally remained in close proximity to her home for extended periods of time. She was even sentenced to a year in jail in one of these instances where an officer was trying to tranquilize a bear so a tag could be affixed to the bear, and she physically interviend not allowing it. Keep in mind these tags are to identify specific bears and their movement. Fish & Game does not do this to just any bear, they do it when there is a requirement to study or monitor them. This can be the first step in identifying a problem bear that has been in a negative encounter, which means if he is found performing the same behavior they will possibly be relocated, but more likely destroyed since relocation rarely works. This is why feeding bears either intentionally, or "unintentionally" as will often be the persons defense is bad, because once a bear learns this behavior, it is all over for the bear. Court records do not lie... Search them up. She is the demise of these bears, not Fish & Game, and not the person who has to pull the trigger.

When I was a kid I lived off a game reserve that had family of raccoons and like 200 Canadian geese with a bunch of ducks.. Well we fed them, We loved seeing how the two heads of the geese would move each family from the patio so everyone had there time to eat.. We stayed inside mostly unless I wanted to take off on my bike or needed to put food out and they would back off for a bit but just to give us a buffer zone then come back to eat... Now the Raccoons they where something. Each one had there own personality. One would love to sit and slap at my pedal's watching it spin. One would love to climb on my bike while one would hang up side down in the Spanish arch style cut out window and it would just show off... With the years of interacting with all them animals I feel if you are going to share your yard with any wild animal. 1 keep in mind they are wild and never fully trust them so stay alert but relaxed at the same time. 2 you and them set boundary and respect them. 3 Enjoy the life changing moments they bless you with...... In my eyes long as she keeps doing rule 1 and 2, they will allow rule 3..Like letting her baby sit the cubs..

    • @@jennifers9389 osiyo (Hello) 👋 Wado (thank you). Fun fact, the bear and it's relevance to our tribe is a tradition that has survived more than 35,000 years of evolution. The Siberian people, for which the Iroquoian branched tribes (and inuit/Canadian/Alaskan tribes) come from, also celebrate the bear. They use a pelt to dance outside for the hope it causes rain and good fortune to come (the Siberian Indigenous I mean, but also here in the Americas either for good fortune or good harvest to come (which depends on rain anyways so same message and use). They even still celebrate the bear festival in Siberia. Also the reason the Americas have Caribou, they are the evolutionary cousin to the reindeer, that the Siberian Indigenous peoples brought with them. They are known as the Reindeer People for this reason. The only people in human history to be able to domesticate reindeer, however they domesticate reindeer by picking the right ones out of their herd who will become sled pullers or even to become a type of spirit animal partner and guide. So, not true domestication but also still yes, they domesticated the reindeer? It is phenomenon not seen anywhere else in the world. Even the Pacific Northwest tribes of Washington/Vancouver area of Canada, use the bear pelt and dance just like they have done in Siberia. We have held this tradition for so long, it is a main piller to show our passed down story telling is a historical record, not just made up stories. Anthropologists are finally realizing how great our passed down knowledge is, they are finally allowing us to tell our story and they actually use it in conjunction with fossil finds and other ancient finds.

On the other hand grizzlies evolved on the Praire where there are no trees and found it necessary to defend their cubs agressivly. The fact that the cubs themselves are not running away is because they have lost their fear of her by a process scientists call desensitization . It consists of being exposed to a condition stimiulos without being paired with an unconditioned stimulus. Inother words seeing a human who's not shooting at you, throwing something at you or yelling at you. Check out the dozens of other videos of folks who get visiting bears that they've desensitized.

    • The bears do not "love her", the only reason the bears will act this way is because she is feeding them and has done so for a very long time. There is no "relationship", it is only food, and it is irresponsible for her because these very actions create danger for her and other people and the bear always loses. In that regard, most if not all will need to be destroyed all because of her selfish need for companionship.

There are many on here who lash back as though I am hating on her, even jealous when in reality I am trying to educate people on the dangers of feeding bears, but also how evil this person is because she has been educated to the issues, even convicted of illegally feeding and other crimes involving bears, yet she continues.

    • @Skummehso what if she feeds them in the yard? Shes not handfeeding them. Bears will go to foodsources anyways regardless if shes feeding them treats or not. Alaskans can kill hibernating bears, can kill mother bears with babies, shoot whatever they want, live trap them so they bleed out over the course of many hours, but feeding them treats on the yard from a distance? Oh how DASTARDLY. Fucking ridiculous
