Your favorite mechanic, Edd China from Wheeler Dealers, is back with what we hope will be a new program series. In Edd China’s Garage Revival, Edd will work with car owners, whose restoration projects have got the better of them, to get their plans back on track. In this pilot episode, Edd travels to Norway to get a Golf MK1 GTI back where it belongs - on the road.
Thank you for watching! Please share, subscribe and like!

    • I agree dude. It would have been equally exciting if there was a camera crew at his home, documenting how stoked he was while waiting for Edd to arrive. We don't need the typical TV fake suspense.

    • @Nicholas Barnes He's not looking at the camera because Edd is simply taking in the size of the building - it's huge! This is "telling a part of the story" as any good film will do.

  • When Edd parted ways with Wheeler Dealers (WD's) he said in a YT video on his own channel that his leaving was because the revamped version of WD's wasn't going in a direction he felt comfy with but wished the show, Mike and the mechanic replacing him all the best, a gentleman at his best. Edd also said he hoped to do a show that was more about the mechanics and less about the (money/politics/commercial) business aspects of mechanics. Edd, you and your production team have in episode one delivered completely, delivering what many of us had hoped we would see with you as the host. In this episode we saw what could be done in a less than equipped work shop, you got to show us many hints and tips, the trouble you went to ensuring the vehicle was legal in the owners country, it was a delight to see you helping others out with your skills when matters in their own life's have taken more time than they could dedicate to their projects. Well done everyone... I'm thrilled to see that what you wanted has made it into production, and good luck to all with the future episodes.

Things sort of went pear-shaped when the cars got more and more expensive, and we saw less and less real tinkering. Outsourcing is all well and good, but we want to see Edd work his magic :D

They want to gloss over a project, show a detail here and there and get some shots with sparks flying from a grinder. That way the viewers are interested enough to spend some cash and haven't learned much. That's the reason Ed left WD..

  • Great to see a program focussed on the practical aspect of working on the mechanics and helping someone get an abandoned project back on the road. I'm not going to knock Mike B or the Wheeler Dealers format; they both have their place, but I much prefer this sort of format where there is more detail of how things are done, and less attention to the light entertainment aspect. I hope this pilot leads to many more similar episodes.

  • Edd, it´s GREAT to see you back. You give to us your audience what we want: knowledge disguised as entertainment. See you working is a real pleasure. I´m happy to have found your channel. Your program was the reason I decided to restore vehicles as a hobby.

    • Hey! Why the face! You're right, roadkill/MCM/skid factory/barn find hunters are pretty good too! But of those I think only SF and BFH have a "real" production team and it still is down to earth. :)

    • Wheeler dealers and Car SoS have a few things in common. they both get stuff back on the road, they both have great mechs, sadly they both have knobheads that take up valuable viewing time.

    • Couldn't agree more. Reminds me over the first 4 or 5 Series of Wheeler Dealers with all the 'hands on' mechanical 'how to's' ... Edd's charm & knowledge can easily carry a show without the 'selling' part ... well done Edd ...

    • I loved Wheeler Dealer.. I thought Mike & Ed had a good combo / perspectives but as Ed has said direction of show and Ed were not aligned. It is best Ed went a direction he was happy with and Mike go in a direction he was happy with. Appears no hard feelings either way. And we get to experience both now..

  • I got the feeling there was more time for tinkering and less dealing. Normally there would be some trading and whatnot, instead: «these parts are standard and easy to come by; lets start putting them on the car.»; which was very refreshing. Because, lets be honest, we want to see parts being swapped, tools being used and stuff being easily explained.

  • Edd was always 85% of Wheeler Dealers and Brewer knew it. If you look around on KZhead you can see Brewer mouthing off about Edd. It's not nice and not what you expect from a fully functioning adult. Fingers crossed this gets big for Edd. It does need some advertising though as I nearly missed it.

    @golders99@golders996 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, I agree - I certainly hope they do come up with a sizeable advertisement budget. I think they will only need it for the first few months, after that it will take off like an airplane!

    • You are so right.... Never really understood the appeal of the Mike Brewer part of wheeler dealers, always seemed heavily scripted and fake. He came across as a not really very likeable shady car dealer. Which is what he is i suppose
