    • I was so close to visiting South Korea and Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture performer and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan and visit South Korea.

  • Thank you, TL, for creating such a beautiful footage of my beloved hometown of Tokyo. My family and I just got back to the Seattle area from a month-long trip back to Japan to see my parents in Tokyo and other family members around Japan. As a Tokyo native, I am feeling incredibly homesick right now.. We have decided to purchase a second home (though not in Tokyo, prefer to have a better balance of city and nature, so possibly in Fukuoka or Okumikawa region in Aichi). As much as we enjoy the PNW, there are so many aspects of Japan we truly miss, not to mention a more equitable, less capitalistic nature of our society (in comparison to the U.S.) and the extensive and well functioning high-speed rail system we have around the country since 1960s. That said, Japan has a myriad of its own social problems such as the absence of joint custody, an extremely closed immigration policy (virtually nonexistent to asylum seekers), to name a very few. To those traveling to my country for the first time, I could not recommend enough to make sure to get the JR Pass (all-you-can ride bullet train pass for one whole week for ar/ USD $270!) and travel outside of Tokyo, too. Also note JR will increase that price by approx. 70% come October of this year. But it will still be an incredibly a bargain deal only available to those who live outside of Japan. Just like the UK and most other countries, going beyond large cities is when you truly start getting a lot of flavors of other cultures. Also highly recommend watching the Great Anthony Bourdain's take on Japan - He was truly a legend with thought-provoking insights on Japan and the way in which he interacted with the locals, esp., the one he did on Hokkaido in his "No Reservations". Enjoy!!! どうぞよい旅を!!
