Minecraft's lore is so unknown and secret but I honestly love it this way! It makes the community come up with their own lore in their own world and that is the pure essence of Minecraft as a whole imo. I love the history behind the Allay but better yet, how the community will try to fit them in the lore of Minecraft! Maybe something having to do with the Vex... 🤔

basically they only want the world to be modified if the player is involved or can prevent it if it’s unwanted; Endermen are an exception because they don’t do it enough to cause any issue (at least, most of the time), and probably because they were added in an old update, which is possibly before Mojang’s design philosophy for this.

The entire concept of the Allay stealing from yourself was actually something I was hoping for, because it would solve the giant chest monsters where not even the player knows where all of their items are.
I mean you have easy redstone filters for almost anything
And then it could also ruin your monster of a sorting machine.

I love where the Allays spawn 1. In cages at Illager Outposts 2. In the jail cells at the Woodland Mansions. Possibly hinting that vexes are either corrupted Allays or related to Allays in some way. I would deffinetly call them a magical mob which means that in the lore the Allays are connected to Enchanting and Brewing through the Vexes and Illagers.

I can see that the Wisp's original design seemed to seep into the Baby Ghast's design in Minecraft Dungeons!
There are already wisps in Minecraft Dungeons, but yes, they look similar
There are also wisps in Dungeons. Interestingly they also spawn in the woodland mansion prison level in ancient hunts, just like where you would find an allay

The Copper Golem had a ton of potential honestly. Imagine them following you around like a little helper. Lifting you up a block to help cut down that tree, holding a item or two for you whilst you mine. Heck, maybe even make it charge up via a lightning rod, or make it so it can be used as a portable furnace. The Copper Golem has so much potential to be an awesome addition... instead we got the Alley because kids thought "FrEe DiAmOnDs" and went with that.
Hey, maybe same for the golem. All it did was press buttons and nobody got that much info. The allay didn’t need much explaining, anyway, and it’s really cute, with its dancing and noises. It also adds lore. Spawning where illagers are, adding lore, because they look similar to vexes and sorta sound the same.
I'm still holding out for the Copper Golem sometime in the future, I gotta have that lil guy in my world.

I played on a snapshot yesterday and the names of sounds the Allay makes are just so cute. It turns out, that Allays get happy when they get to find things and they get slightly upset when they don't have a task anymore
I played music with some yesterday, they danced and spun around making cute noises, and with a animation pack for smoother animations it was super cute-
I think it would be genius of Mojang if they added the feature of harmonizing the Allay mob so that whenever it is near another Allay there could be a musical interaction. I think this would fix the jarring sounds produced by the Allays in groups. This would also add a new dimension of sound mechanics and fit well with the update. We could also have a choir of Allay! I think that would be super cute!

Mojang showing us these videos are amazing, it shows you a lot of the 'behind scenes' stuff, as well as the developers though processes when making the Allay.
This would be so helpful with farming! You just "train" an allay to retrieve wheat, seeds, potatoes, carrots, or beetroot, and when you harvest the crops, the allay would pick up what you didn't!

This show is downright hilarious. I absolutely love every single one of these videos.
Something I love about Minecrafts Lore is that it is not set in stone. They don't cram a single specific story down your throat. Instead they provide small tip-bids of Lore but leave enough room for the player to interpret and have their own ideas until in some cases it's accepted by players and Devs.

Actually, I just thought of a way more interesting use of the allay than it’s past and present purpose: If you die near soul sand then a large group of allays will leave the soul sand and grab one of your items. the allay they’ll either fly around the nether aimlessly while still holding one of your items, or they’ll retreat to the soul sand where they came from with the item they’re holding so that the item is transferred into the soul sand. Also maybe you could even tame it by given them a valuable item while they’re in the soul sand, allowing it to still be used for its initial purpose. It would be use to save and preserve your items so that it doesn’t despawn while you’re trying to get to it. Plus if the allay just flies around with your item then it could also help you get one of your items back (without it necessary being tamed). So yeah that’s my idea. I’ll allow it to be used for free however if you *are* reading this mojang I’d like to take this opportunity to say that as of now I am of working age and unemployed, and I have experience in the fields of programming, design, art, and music, and design technology. If you (mojang) respond to this comment then I’ll send you my business email and talk about future employment opportunities, it would be greatly appreciated.
