      @maryelle1927@maryelle19274 жыл бұрын
    • there's a different concept of friendship in russian culture. they are often translating english word "friend" into russian as "друг". but in fact it's a totally different word. english "friend" should be translated as "приятель". "friend/друг" in russian is a very close person, often it means more than a family, this is literally someone that you are ready to die for. you can't say in russian that someone you know for a couple of months is your friend (or it would sound weird at least). so it's a "lost in translation" thing, since they don't have a russian concept of friendship in english. and there's nothing wrong that sasha don't know if the girls at the rink is her friends (in the russian meaning of word). she's a family person and spends a lot of time with her family/little brothers.

Medvedeva, never made it to another olympics other than 2018 because of her sprained back and injuries that she suffered due to poor health because of Eteri starving her. Plus, Eteri has a bunch of juniors lined up to take the seniors spots once they started to fail because her teachings are only for girls who haven't reached puberty. Not to mention they still have to go through the growth spurt if you haven't hit puberty and unfortunately most skaters don't make it passed that. Elizaveta Tuktamysheva started landing the triple axel when she was 11 and when she hit puberty that's what happened t her. She's still developing as an athlete and a young lady, weighing 78lb makes doing a quad much more simple as well. So we'll see what happens.

  • This young lady skated into my heart in the Juniors this year. Her smile is contagious and such beautiful hair and I was amazed at her perfect performance in my opinion. I have been watching female skaters all my life. I am 58 and she may be my favorite after all these years. I am American but I will be always pull for Alexandra and I hope she ends up with Gold in every event. Others say she won't be able to do quads when she gets older. We will see.

    • Always haters gonna hate. First was " she's going to get injured doing 2 quads" after 3 years doing more than 2 quads (currently 5) she is clean of injuries. Then was "she is going to grow and will be unable to land quads", she was 148 cms tall and landed 2 quads the 3rd one always she failed. Now she is 155 cm tall and she can do 5 quads and trixel in training easily. Ignorant people thinks a jump depends of the skater hight. Rika Kihira is shorter than Sasha and yet is unable to land a quad in competition. Her haters will continue saying she is starved, she is going to break her hip, she will loss her skill to do quads with something weird, unmesurable that they call "puberty". Jumps depend of mass, power, time (on air ), rotation velocity, gravity and location into space.

  • I never saw interview with her but she seems so powerful and mature as a person. I admire that because I am much older than her and still have to work on the way I think about my life/goals and accomplishments. For example I would never say that I am not afraid of losing. Everybody should have hobbies and sports, I guess. Beacuse they build your personality, and give you a chance to manage your "flaws". Of course, people you are surrounded with also have a major impact on your way of thinking. All in all she has a mindset of a winner, but there are more things beside being in the first place, dear Alexandra, you will see it in the future. To me its most important to leave an impact to at least one person and that is, again to me, the real winning. Good luck, looking forward for your new choreo.

  • She seems like a really nice girl. For someone who is shown really promising results at a significantly young age I feel like she is really down to earth and humble which is really nice to see. I loved how highly she speaks about her coaches and the skaters too. The part about her not being sure about friendship seems most likely lost in translation. At least I hope. I can’t wait to see her shine and be the next big thing in skating. Also her brothers are such a big mood.
