What’s the Legend (2015) movie about?
From Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Reggie is suave, charming and volatile. Ronnie is his unstable twin brother. Using violence to get what they want, the siblings orchestrate robberies and murders while running nightclubs and protection rackets.
Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.

The time teddy hands reggie the gun and the mom barely sees it always makes me laugh. plus the scene where shes like "hes not well, hes sick" and he pretends like he has a stuffy nose.
me and my dad just watched the movie, and when he sniffed hard after she said he had a fever, we busted up laughing.
It's contrived. She leaves the room to make tea or get cake whenever she knows they will be discussing "business" and she plays on Reggie's slight cold and prepares the bed for him to give him an alibi if ever he's questioned about the murder in the pub (and then appears again and acts surprised that the gangsters disposing of the weapon and intimidating witnesses have gone). It's clear she's also aware of Reggie's (and more famously Ronnie's) bisexuality, because she invites the pretty boy Teddy to stay behind despite her son's alleged "fever". It's a small scene, but a significant one: Violet Kray is thought to have had certain narcissistic tendencies and she transferred them to her sons. Her specialty was silence and that's how she wins the respect of the male criminals around her in this film portrayal.

@@RobRIPDG They threatened the psychiatrist to lie so that Ron could be released. There's a scene prior to Ron's release where a thug working for the Krays visits the psychiatrist. There's also the scene after the hearing where the doctor gives the medication to Reggie to administer to Ron. This is narrative support for the fact that Ron was clinically insane. The doctor knew it, but lied because he was threatened with violence. Why is the doctor giving antipsychotics to a patient who doesn't need them? It wouldn't make any sense. The true answer, and the only logical explanation, is that Ron was insane. Reggie threatened the doctor to get Ron out. Reggie accepts the medication to give to Ron as a compromise because Reggie knows full well how sick Ron really is. Did you even watch the movie? You clearly remember the scene where he gets released from the ward. But not the scene directly before or afterwards? No wonder you're completely wrong. That’s mum keeping Ronnie near her so that Reggie doesn’t thrash him. And reminding Reg that his brother is mentally ill.
So this is my opinion… but I think that part of the scene was trying to show how Ronnie gets very uncomfortable when someone touches him affectionately or shows him affection in general, even if it’s his mom. You can even see that mom was hesitant to touch him because either she knows how much he dislikes it, or she’s lowkey afraid of him, or both. But it’s clear the amount of tension in his face and shoulders it causes him. I might be wrong but that’s the impression I got.

Arthur Shelby working for Venom, having an argument with Alfie Solomon and kingsmen in the same room... This looks like an interesting alternative universe
gotta love the mum she knew something was up but wanted to make sure it was all wholesome for them
It won't be faked for long...Get out... Like a bad moment... Unbelievable 💎🏆💎🏆💎🏆... Amazing how you can internalize the role and as a double role...🙏🍀❣️
this movie is a masterpiece. all the way through. deserves way more praise then it received. I think this movie going to be one of those "classic" movies in the way that we look back on movies like pulp fiction.
Great scene and character execution. It really shows how he has the attitude down for such outrageous characters
Einer der besten Filme die ich je gesehen habe

It wasn't Ronnie Kray. It was some short guy with a limp and a Geordie accent officer. Yeah.

It's almost impossible to believe that this is the same actor. Brilliant acting helped by an excellent supporting cast.
