In my humble opinion, I think the bar was set even higher with the pandemic. People had time to sit in the studio all the time. Even if it was just 3 people in the studio at all times; the engineer with any two people that needed to work on the song. Silk Sonic murdered it tho, I agree.

I saw Silk Sonic perform in Vegas, and on paper, that should have been pretty silly. Bruno and Andy are kind of dorky dudes playing in a guady concert hall and wearing cheesy leisure suits and 70s sunglasses. But they came out there with so much conviction and with such a tight groove that by the time this song came on, I believed them 100%. At that moment, it really felt like these guys were the coolest dudes on the planet. I thought it'd be just pretty fun, but ended up being probably the best concert I've ever gone to. We should all hope to one day be as fly as Silk Sonic.

I went to see them on 5/29 & it was a non-stop party. I love Bruno's concerts because you see every ethnic group, all ages, etc. just dancing, singing to the top of their voices. The musicality is amazing, the choreography on point.

@@joshalben833 He had modest success with 'Yes Lawd' and 'Venice' albums around 2012. He was on Dr. Dre's 'Compton' album in 2015. Other albums followed, 'Malibu ', 'Oxnard' and 'Ventura. He also has 4 Grammys. I mention this because, many still don't know who he is. They think Silk Sonic is a Bruno Mars project, featuring Anderson Paak. I've seen a lot of KZhead reactors not even acknowledge Anderson. I just want him to get all of his flowers.

@@joshalben833 Yeah, I know 'Venice' was first. I thought 'Yes Lawd' came before the Dr. Dre project, because Anderson said he sang 'Suede' to him, which ended up on the 'Malibu album. There is a music video of 'Suede' with Anderson and Knowledge. Whatever the time-line, I'm glad others have figured it out.
