    • Yes! My dog jumps on me and others. After letting her out and then back in, she jumps. Out of no where she’ll jump on me. Lots of times she jumps on my back. Help.

  • Thank you for this video. It’s just what we needed for Gigi, our 2 year old mini goldendoodle. Gigi loves walks, but pulls a lot when she sees someone or another dog she knows. Also, we noticed she jumps on us when there is something that scares her. We will definitely try the u-turn and kibble training. Does this also work when guests come to our house? We are struggling still with the overexcitement when we have guests. We found that if we take her to the backyard and the guests come in and sit down and ignore her, she has a few Zoomies and then gets calm. Also, we are not out of the “happy pee” phase. In addition, Gigi sometimes on walks will hide behind us and bark at people out of fear. Note that this occurs with some people who are friends of ours. Please help. 🙏🐶💕

    • Yes, you can start to practice these techniques inside, then slowly start to use them outside. It sounds like you've found something that works with guests. That's just what we recommend. Give the dog no attention, allow her to sniff, then ask for a calm behavior. There's a little more to it than that but you're on the right track!

  • I'm going to try this. My boy Scout is about 62 pounds and is a Rottweiler/ German Shepherd cross. When we go for walks, he is sniffing all over the place and if we meet a new person, he gets so excited and jumps up in them. It is a little embarrassing and I realize that it could be dangerous. I am hoping this technique works for him

    • You can definitely train him to be more neutral, but be sure to work on this from a distance so he can succeed. It'll take some practice before he's ready for "the real thing".

  • Can you teach a puppy not to jump when returning a ball playing fetch? I love that my puppy is so good at fetch and can't wait to bring the ball back but she comes barrelling at you full speed before launching into you paws first. I've learned to turn my back or dodge her completely and she'll give me the ball nicely but only after she's tried to take me out 😂

    • Yes, you can definitely teach her not to jump on you, even when excited. The tips in this video can be applied to different situations. Pay close attention to the treat scatter, that might be your first strategy when she comes running!

  • How do we keep our puppies below threshold when people visit our house? This is the biggest challenges we've faced so far. Our puppy is triggered whenever something comes in sight, regardless of distance. It feels impossible.

    • Great question! Try creating a safe space for your puppy. This is where the crate can really come in handy. If you're able to fill your dog's cup by providing the appropriate outlets and a calming environment, you can set him up for success! You can try a white noise machine, crate cover, snuggle puppy, adaptil plug in and calming music. Also make sure he is getting plenty of mental and physical exercise before guests come over - each is equally as important!

  • For me it's not people, it's other dogs! My 2 yr old labradoodle is a terrible puller when he sees other dogs. Now that I have a newborn there's no way I can handle him with a stroller too🤕
