There are 3 simple steps in my imitation lessons.
1. Listen to me and read the text on the screen.
2. Listen and then imitate me when the video pauses. Copy and repeat, exactly what I said, out loud!
3. Lastly, I’ll invite you to shadow me. Speak the words with me and copy the natural rhythm in my voice.

This weekend? I'm really looking forward to it, actually! I've got my sister visiting from overseas so... I'm going to be playing tour guide for a few days! And Saturday's looking pretty good, weather-wise, so we might go somewhere for breakfast. Bib & Tucker is my go-to whenever I have people staying. Have you been there? Everything there is amazing and the view over the ocean is to die for. So yeah, I think we might start there since it's going to be nice. And then, do a bit of exploring. Maybe we'll stop in for lunch at the Botanic Gardens, it's so beautiful there at this time of year. And, they often have free concerts actually, so that could be pretty cool. And then on Sunday, I think I'll take her to the National Gallery and we'll probably wander around the markets for a while. Actually, my friend's playing in a band and she's offered us free tickets! So, we'll probably check that out too as long as we're not too tired! So I've got a lot planned! How about you? Have you got much on?

I'm looking forward the weekends☺️ because I have very good plans. On Saturday I'm going to study a little bit. I usually just repeat all information that I learnt for the week to refresh it. The weather is going to be sunny and warm so I plan to meet with my friend and go kayaking on the lake. Actually, we've recently started engage in this type of sport and we like it. On Sunday I have day off so I want to spend time with my mom. We are going to go to the park, have a lunch there and wander around. In the evening we'll probably watch the movie.

This weekend i have some household chores to do. I am going to prepare my Portuguese lessons. At night i will have a shower and watch tv. This what i am planning to do on Saturday. On Sunday i am going to lunch with a friend, then i will read a little, cook and send some emails. The weather invites us to stay home. A huge hug from Azores.
Hi Emma! This is really a change of pace and style. So useful for getting much better in common conversations. A genius idea I will follow for sure. Last weekend I went for skiing in the nearest mountains from Lugano, and also for the first time this year. Surprisingly there is a lot of snow since November, that's so unusal since climate change happened! I'm looking forward for another ski-day during the next weekend , hoping of suitable weather conditions. Thanks a lot Emma, your lessons are so nice and vivid too!

Hi Emma, Your lesson is a opportunity to learn about imitation technique, it little bit tricky on first time, but keep practice with your lesson make easy with this technique. Weekend plans: My weekend started Saturday and Sunday. From the other busy five days of work in office. I really get some rest and then take care and spend time with my family and we go outside home to walk in park or watching any movie. Thank you.

Hi Emma! Thank you for you lesson!! Here my answer: We're planning our weekend camping close to the Balaton lake, in Hungary with my boyfriend and some friends of him. There has been a long time since the last time I camped, but I'm excited to do it again and take it like a kind of adventure and to be more in contact with the nature. I'd already checked the weather, it says it'll be sunny and hot, so we could swim in the lake :)

I find your videos very helpful especially those about connected speech. What I think could help me even more with pronunciation would be a phonetic transcription and how words link together underneath each text that you're reading. I really love the imitation lessons but it's a little difficult for me to find/hear the links myself as my ear is not yet trained, if that makes any sense. I fell like I keep saying it wrong every time no matter how much/hard I try. Thank you so much for all the videos you've made for us!🤗🤗🤗

At/on can be used, because it differs in British and American accents.
What are you going to do at the weekend***
You can say either (just not "in" the weekend). I personally say "on" the weekend. In fact when native speakers ask "What are you doing on/at the weekend?" you can hardly hear the word "on/at" because it gets linked to the word "doing" "What are you doin'on the weekend?"

Keep practising, keep listening and imitating - not just me, but movies and TV shows. Learn to sing English songs. If you stop trying, you will never improve.
