I believe the HTX 4K to be one of the best mice around for those that like fingertip or fingertip/relaxed claw hybrids, especially if you enjoy flat mice and/or have longer fingers. This mouse sits right on the border of being an S+ mouse and I might shuffle it in the future.

  • Great point about the sensor placement. More forward sensor placement would give the flexibility of fingertip grip whilst keeping the stability of claw grip.

  • Corepads makes a skate pad for the HTX now and it fits the entire front and back lip as well as the sides so I don't get scratching during lift off. My favorite shape thus far.

  • Yoo nice and detailed review again bro, I'll give HTX a try but my HTS 4K had major problems.. Whenever i click i feel like mouse is breaking apart from the inside, too much creaking in general that my other friends didnt have. I wanted to ask you why you prefer fast pad with low sens/control feet? Thanks :)

    @gillik7801@gillik78017 ай бұрын
    • I feel more in control this way, as any input is therefore dictate by my human range of motion and input. If I need to make big movements, I swing my arm around, if I need to make micro-adjustments, my fingers and wrist do the motion which generally doesn't generate a lot of force and therefore a faster pad makes it so much easier. I use P-51 not just because fast but also because smooth, which means I have unrestricted range of motion at any time. Lots of people play higher sens without realising they can't play low sens because their arm gets stuck trying to move around on the mousepad. Instead, my aim now is far more controlled via my human input, with various range of motion, versus relying on smaller range of motion and therefore what feels like less fine-tune ability and relies only a multiplier (sensitivity).

  • Intuitively, you'd expect mouse designers to put the sensor directly below where your fingertips rest. So even farther forward: probably where that central skate is.

    @obscur_artiste@obscur_artiste7 ай бұрын
    • I honestly wouldn't even mind trying a mouse designed like that but there probably is a point of being too far forward.The important thing you have to consider is the physical size of the PCB as well as switches/clicks being mounted, relative to the position of the mouse. I wouldn't say its impossible given how G-Wolves HSK proved you can build the smallest PCB and switches being mounted, but perhaps it is harder than imagined?

    • @@its_yifang I suspect it's just been overlooked. You're probably too young to have ever used pre-optical mice, but they used to have a trackball at the bottom. The position of the optical sensor is a legacy from the much larger trackball assemblies from the days of yore.

      @obscur_artiste@obscur_artiste7 ай бұрын
    • @@obscur_artiste I've used trackball mice before but this was long before I ever touched games that needed anything to do with it!

  • does anyone know if the honeycomb version is worth considering? like does it affect the build qaulity or comfort?

    @roboticbum@roboticbum7 ай бұрын
    • Slightly less weight, doesn't really affect build quality because the exterior of the shell is the last thing that'll break, but solid does have more dust and sweat resistance obviously. Internals are all IP rated though so it shouldn't be an issue, solid shell if you're someone who's more concious over these things.
