I head out to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. My intent was to photograph the 6 month old baby orangutan. However, for this moment, what got my attention was the call of the white cheeked gibbon. Incredibly loud for such a small creature. Would be an interesting experience to hear them in their natural habitat.
Apologies for the high grain footage and losing focus in some parts of the video. Lighting conditions weren't the best and it was hard to keep track of the primates in the camera's viewfinder.
Imagine walking around in the jungle at night and suddenly this starts all around you slowly increasing in intensity
It does sound ghostly.
Imagine if it was gorillas at night though damn u fricked up
@Digicraftmon the Crystal Gem well it's a good thing gibbons are friendly
They're usually diurnal
@@Undivided_X Imagine harder
I love that sound! It is so hauntingly beautiful, like music.
Very eerie sounds yet mysterious & beautiful at the same time. Thanks for sharing this!
They are like the Pink Floyd of monkeys.
It s weird but this sounds relaxed me... Still better for my brain than sound of the train, motorcycle or plane...
Gibbon is a gentle animal. Very nice.
the beginning sounds ghostly and hypnotizing
I know right holy crap it was beautiful though. Id shit myself if I heard that in the forest.
😬😱
1:35 sounds like they’re singing
Remind me of fear game menu soundtrack
Sounded ghostly only cos of being distant and echoes.
I could listen to this all day
Absolutely fascinating creatures
omg they are almost the whales of the land! the Brookfield primate house is my favorite.
i just noticed the baby taking a nap in the first shot. so cute
At my local zoo, the siamangs and the gibbons would get into a verbal "discussion" back and forth across the Asian exhibit, especially in the mornings. The white cheeked gibbons always sounded like enraged hamsters compared to the deep bassoon voices of the siamangs.
Siamangs are my favorite
What zoo? Cause I know animal kingdom & zoo Miami have them in the same enclosure just water separates them.
Imagine we landed on a new planet and we heard such sounds for the first time.........
I hope there's a planet out there with just peaceful monkeys
I know I'm a bird person, but I love all wildlife on the whole planet from forests, jungles, rivers, oceans, even our backyard
These things make better music than a lot of humans. How do I get in contact with their leader about potentially signing a couple to my record label?
they probably take over your career lol
Call your shitty musicians "things", those are small humans
@@user-jq6vk1it9w What would you call them? People? Not likely, they aren't even in the Great Apes family.
This sound gives me a feeling that cannot be expressed It's like I'm walking on another planet or another world The strangest sound I've ever heard
Either you're being mesmerize or you're having a euphoric momment
Nope just this planet
Something must be funny. There are times they all make noises at once and move around like they are excited.
I could listten to this all day.. Having said that, I got no Idea why Im here...
Gibbons are some really freaky animals. Very fascinating. Sounds like alien music.
I'm thinking about incorporating some Gibbon call samples in one of my beats. This one you can hear in the beginning in the background of the orangutan clip is absolutely trippy and beautiful
That would hit hard
Monkey Type Beat
Would work great as a riser, or effect sound with additonal processing.
@@CozyJuffyWuff I've used it once as bgfx for a whole tune, really great!
Did you do it? Link it
Man, what a trippy way to communicate. Wonder what they're talking about.
Sadly saying how they wish to be back where they belong. In the wild.
@@Youneverknow222 Nope
@@Youneverknow222 they are in there for a reason you know...
I think it sounds awesome! Like at 3:40. Pretty intense. This is a great video. Thanks!
scary in the echo dome
Bro how big it that dome?
They look like little elves, except for the fangs.
Saw these for the first time today at the Houston zoo with my family. Intriguing creatures.
Hypnotizing and so beautiful.
The OG rock concert.
I love how the orangutan in the beginning is just vibing.
I've watched videos of Britain's Monkey World Rescue & Rehab through the Beyond Wildlife series on KZhead, and their yellow-cheeked gibbons sing when they are a couple - a kind of back-and-forth song, and my understanding is that it's a territorial song.
Imagine if there up at 4 in the morning and you cant sleep
The baby at the beginning just vibing
A very relaxing video.
Schlatt Gibbon
Schlibbon, if you will
The ghosts of the forest
Damn I remember going here all the time and my favorite part would be standing in the Tropic World hearing all the bird and monkey calls.
I love the sound the mother monkey looks like she just got a new haircut lol
She's really pretty and her little baby.
Thank you kindly, Gregg, for sharing this immensely interesting footage!!! I wish someone could interpret the different meanings associated with the vocalizations...
They want to be free
@@Omer698 Not really
Wow, just wow
This plays in the ambient soundtrack to a horror game set in Southeast Asia.
Oh giving me a spook
Orang-utan : ah, shit here we go again
Thank you for putting this up.
Help protect and defend wildlife everywhere !
Imagine what the 3D version of this sound would be like😮
This is the most interesting song I have ever heard coming from an animal. OMG!
*Exotic Voice* *Beautiful*
Peace and blessings. The mom look like she had come from the beauty shop sporting a bob hairdo and had her hair dyed too. I wish I had seen babies face. I like the sound...like a sad, mournful, yearning piece at the end. 3/25/18. 12:49 PM
That monkey is an orangutan. The ones singing are Gibbons. That monkey is ugly and she cant sing I dont know why she's in the picture
I could sleep to this.
Sounds like a horror movie, but its beautiful at the same time
Sounds like a train stopping in the distance
Schlatt?
yes
Sure that dosent get old.
sounds like a beautiful song
The handsome orang utan
welcome to the the food court of hell
he's basically an old man yelling at his neighbors
Love them n wish the authorities could give them things to inspire them- toys , objects etc.
Best Atom Heart Mother cover
Sound of nature
I think I heard funky town in there somewhere.
This is the closest thing to a dragon or even a dinosaur
Yeah, forget about crocodiles, monitor lizards, Komodo dragons, alligators, certain birds of prey, but the gibbon, ladies and gentlemen, is the one extant animal that comes close to being a dinosaur or a fictional dragon! You're an idiot, Clay Harris.
Never knew the existence of white cheeked gibbons ; their voice is very mysterious ; they are very 'strange' creatures.
Mommy is very hungry eat tweets and her baby sleeping by her side she is very good mommy baby got bad hair day thank you for sharing Bless you all have a good day.
Que agudo sonido y músical parece intergaláctico, que interesante. Hermosa creación de Dios.
Así es parecen de otra dimensión ❤
You should enter this in a contest. The first part of this is like a David Lynch movie. It's very surreal
Sounds like a Stanley Kubrick soundtrack.
Awesome!!!
Quite the decibals they can reach. 😅❤
They baby like I’m laid back lol those humans gone look at you all day. We animals what the hell we supposed to do talk. They we would freak the hell out then
Very good video !! I enjoy how white cheeked gibbons look, I wonder what advantage the particular colouration gives them?
Since only males have these, it's likely used in courtship
So much reverb
Haunting
i like sounds this mangky
If you blur your eyes a bit, you ll start seeing the white cheek as a freakin big pair of white-out eyes.. and with that sound they make, you definitely dont want to encounter them in the jungle at night
Sounds scary
Listen to them, the children of the night. What sad music they make.
wow amazing...
so much echo in there how can you bare to hear all that like those Orangutans
There probably use to it
The sounds they make reminded me of Xen part of Half-Life.
Some people would have you believe that these creatures came from rocks. God bless
Why they screm?
The ourangutan do be chewin on da stick do
North korea at 6:00am
?
Real asmr
Let this noise haunt humanity long after they’ve caused the extinction of all apes. Let it remind them of all they’ve destroyed.
Nice
Orangutan mother with baby: Bruh.-
how edited is this sound?
Not😂
Sounds like a helicopter
Jesus his fangs are fucking HUGE!?
Scary
Why is the audio so out of sync with the video? The sound comes way after the video. This would have been a really great video if not for that. And still a good video though.
I imagine it’s because of distance. The video looks like the dude has the camera zoomed in, so I assume he’s a bit of a distance away from the monkeys. Sound takes time to travel, especially with it echoing like it is.
سبحان من علمها.
HELLLLLL NAWWWWW!!!
What are they saying ??
Food, sex, territory, territory, food, food, sex, territory
Oowaaa
4:24
incroyable
I wonder why they have so many male gibbons together as they are territorial. Must be males before they reach maturity. aaooooohhhh hehe I want to join in with their song.
The thumbnail 5:40
I want one
