    • My first year watching was 92 and I remembered Gannon from that time, being a Bears fan. Years later, Gannon shows up on the Raiders playing at an MVP level and I was like why the hell was the league against this guy for all these years?

  • Gannon had one of the best pump fakes in the game, was able to sell the short pass to allow a deep threat WR to get open and in a great position to make the catch. It's been said in the comments previously, Gannon is the last great Raiders QB. Wish we could have won that Super Bowl, not just for Rich, but for the entire Raider Nation!

    • If Gannon plays in the 1997 playoffs, I’m thoroughly convinced that the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. That defense was nasty, and Gannon brought stability and diversity to the offense. When he left KC, he could have gone anywhere but another AFC West team and I would have rooted for him.

  • I’m a Broncos fan, Gannon was a treat to watch. Best sidearm mechanics in the game. His 2000 stats are better than the Mvp year he had. The year 2000 he had could stack up against anybody in any era. 28-11 pass 529 rush 4 TD

  • I remember Gannon had a great year that year he took Raiders to the SB. Then the coach changed game plan last minute and it was too much for one of their star linemen and lineman went awol before the big game and Raiders got soundly defeated.

  • The disrespect to this man, I swear - some coaches are always in their heads, choosing loyalty over obvious results and actual talent. I always liked Rich and his run on the Raiders was epic. They should have won that Super Bowl, their coach sabotaged them and didn't change any of Gruden's original offensive signals. They also should have gone to the Tuck Rule Super Bowl, Tom and the Cheatriots made sure to steal that one too. Gannon could easily have 2 rings and be considered a HOFer if things could have been slightly different.

    • The 2001 Raiders would have gotten blown out by the Rams if they went to the Superbowl. The Raiders complain about the tuck rule which was standard at the time; they never mention the Patriots were the #2 seed in the playoffs; the 2001 Raiders were overrated.
