Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan are joined by the Owner of the newest NHL franchise in Utah and current owner of the Utah Jazz Ryan Smith to discuss bring NHL hockey to Salt Lake City, the message to the players and management, why the process of the naming the team might not be done in time for next season, how can he learn from Vegas or Seattle’s experience and more. The boys give the fans life advice in the latest edition of Dear Hayesy-B and look ahead to the weekend.
Ryan is awesome. As a Utahn it gives me so much pride hearing him talk. First class guy
Ryan Smith has been amazing for the state! When the Miller Group sold the Jazz to him, they wanted to make sure the Jazz were going to be in the hands of someone who wants to be all in on the state of Utah!
Smith has rocketed up to the top echelons of NHL owners. There are a few that come to mind but I can’t think of the last time I saw an owner be so open and nailing every question. O’Dog and Noodles are seasoned pros and you can see their wheels turning trying to find a hole in what he’s saying. And zilch. The Smiths look like the real deal. I can see a massive rivalry coming down the road with Vegas.
Utah is a good place for the NHL
Refreshing to hear speak like this
The saran wrap on O's headset is a nice touch
Lmao The Tragically Hip ‘“Faith in Larry from Calgary’
❤ Mammoth -- thanks for you input! Great show!
Ryan is also co-owner of Real Salt Lake... so that's NBA, NHL, and MLS in one man....
True, he also owns the new Women's soccer professional team in Utah.
6 min mark for ryan smith
Utah Mustangs for the wild horses in the West desert.
That’s already the name of one of the biggest hockey organizations in the state
The shade thrown at actual Designers is tough here.
Utah big enough 😁🇨🇦🇺🇸
Thankyou AM.🇨🇦🇺🇸
Utah Mammoth
Utah Outlaws or Grizzlies.
Smith will learn quickly how much is involved with owning a successful NHL team and making them a perennial winner. Right now it's a nice new shiny toy...honeymoon phase.
Not his first rodeo in the big leagues
I agree with O-Dog I really like Mammoth
Hayesey voice is smooth as 🧈 love listening to these guys even though Noodles cheap shotted one of my Wings players back in the day I think it was the Mule Franzen
An owner who know and cares. Go Utah.
I honestly feel bad for the ex Coyotes players because they were in the playoff hunt for quite awhile there. Also I will laugh if the players start saying how they're getting annoyed that LSD members (Mormons) keep showing up to their home and practises.
Utah Sting being the beehive state
37:11 So for Me I'm the type of person that if a kid is near me and a) he's upset he can't catch a ball or b) he flubs it (ie it was his catch but due to a bounce or misplay on his part he missed and it fell into my lap) Im not going to be a jerk and not give him the ball. Also Im not the type to be pushing and shoving the kids etc as thats just a jerk move. However if its my catch then damn right im keeping it as I never got to catch a ball as a kid so if i ever legit catch one Im keeping it even though modern society will say give it to a kid if ur ner one (the key is to not sit near kids)
Exactly. Kids are way too coddled. Your scenarios are the way to go imo.
Utah Jaguars? Jazzers 😂 Mavericks? The list goes on and on.
Should call themselves the utah saints
You got to own your name. Though what if he introduced himself as Harry and then said, just kidding, it’s Larry.
Utah Mammoth 💪🏻
No terrible name it should at least be plural. Mammoths Yetis is cooler and outlaws too
@@mitch511 your right yeti is a cooler company.
Yes and it will sound terrible with the typical hockey chant @mitch511
Game 3
What will bring utah silverware first? Hockey or basketball
Expect Pastrnak to wake up soon, at which point it's game over for the Leafs.
There ate Coyotes in the Salt Lake area. Keep the name.
They kept the name in arizona
There are plenty of coyotes in Utah, and the team isn't going to have Salt Lake in the name.. there weren't exactly Coyotes running the streets of Glendale or Tempe, either, jackass.
@@user-jb4gj9nx7l Are they keeping the name? I know Arizona Coyotes was the original Winnipeg Jets (where Teemu Selane played his Rookie years) before they moved to Arizona in 1996/97
@@OwenRona Alex Merelo gets to keep the Coyotes name and has been granted an Expansion team BUT only if he can prove he can build an NHL Arena in Phoenix within the next 5 Years. Otherwise the name Coyotes is off the market
Larry….it becomes Lawrence 24/7 and nothing else
I wanted 70😁🇨🇦🎯
Utah Mammoth 🦣 let's fucking go... straight strud muffin
Did Mathews get a little too much time down the stretch 😁🇨🇦
The owner of Utah looked coked the fk up lol 😳
