    • Place your hands on the piano, and just move them if you can, I am sure just playing a few notes, feeling there vibration even if not played perfectly or as before, will cause a burst of happiness in you. Or if you can't, listen to this music every day... music never dies. I am 49, and I just got my mom a keyboard because her dream was to learn how to play, she also has crippled hands due to arthritis. But she wanted one, so I got her one a few weeks ago. Thank you for sharing your story here, you are not alone. Always dream, Always keep moving forward. Big hug from New York. :)

  • My mother was a professional pianist. I remember in my young age lying down on the floor playing puzzle while my mother played these pieces. Childhood memories comes back to me whenever i listen to classic. The light breeze, warm sunlight and my mother's restless finger running on the keyboard as i mindlessly dream away without a worry...

    • @@carolinavensius2469 Maybe because it hits people in their deeper conscience, one that has been there before we were born. This music speaks to everyone. Mozart is still selling out major concert halls worldwide, and he's been dead 230 years! Others are doing the same from Bach to Beethoven, later ones too. But within the past 120+ years, not so much. So, I will repeat your question in a different context... "Why is that?"

  • The piano is such a beautiful instrument. It is so calming and peaceful. For the first few years of my life, I listened to classical piano pieces every night to fall asleep, because my mom played it, and recently I’ve been doing it again rather than watching tv to bed, and it just makes me happier, and mellow. It just hits me right deep down in my soul.

    • Believe it or not, you're not truly a unique person, with really truly unique experiences. To believe otherwise is to waste time chasing some mythical idea of uniqueness, when instead you should find similarities to others. Plenty of young people of every era since the creation of easily sharable music (through notation, then through recordings) have enjoyed these, and continue to enjoy them, and will continue to enjoy them. People that you would never guess are into classical music will routinely surprise you, because they know and enjoy classical artists.

  • man I want to learn how to play piano so badly, I played as a child but I never understood the point because I was never any good or watched any live performances, I never got inspired but unlike my dance, my parents took me to ballets and performances, I always got chills and goosebumps, I had no idea that it was also the music that was inspiring me. It’s so passionate and beautiful, so thank you so much for creating this

    • As a private instrument instructor (violin & viola), I have to say that you can learn at any age! And you don't have to play these timeless pieces for it to be super enjoyable. (though it takes a time investment, and truly valuing it!). But also, I note a lot of 25-45 year olds just aren't ready to have it in their life! But 50+ with retirement in sight, many see the joy and prioritize it (and have time/money to do so). Search your area and ask around for quality teacher ideas. High quality teaching is REALLY important in music instrument instruction! Good luck!

    • I've always been obsessed with music and piano+violin I want to play but I'm now 17 and still not allowed I've never even been able to see a performance in person. However in a year or 2 I move out and I plan on playing. I know I'm a decade behind but it doesn't matter I'll work harder and smarter than all of them until I'm an equal and beyond.

They keep me engaged (as I have the sheet music for most of these and have attempted to sightread many of these pieces at some point) and interested in the music, but also increase my focus in my actual work as well! Thanks for compiling this album!
