Jackie Chan is a true icon of Asian and Chinese culture. Over a 45-year-long career, he has carved a niche for himself as an actor, stuntman, director, and screenwriter, but also singer and formidable businessman.
After starring in almost 200 films, Chan has reconciled fans of genre film and Hollywood blockbusters, whilst bridging the gap between Asian and Western cinema.
Through film excerpts, archive footage and images, and an offbeat approach inspired by the visual codes of the golden age of kung fu films, this documentary will take a look back at the creation of a popular hero who has come to be an icon for China, and the entire Asian continent.

Thanks. I need this tribute. The back story of how he was part of the fray needed to fill the void left by Bruce Lee's death and how the HK industry adapted, how he rose etc was very inspiring and revealing. The heart of this birth story was how he rejected being a copycat of BL and he wedged in his own brand of self deprecating humour into his bread and butter stuntman experience for storytelling. Good stuff. Nice doco.
I ❤ jackie Chan, he's very funny and very talented ❤
We all love him :)
@@SLICE_Full_Doc 🤣I did ,but now not so much
@@jackie6343probably because he's a CCP supporter which sucks. Hopefully he will understand that and stop supporting it.

Ride On
"Painted Faces" is as close as we'll get to a biography about him at the moment. The fact that it features the childhood lives of Sammo and Yuen Biao's too is a bonus.
Great doc, but the needs to be proofed a little bit more before release. multiple audio errors and choppy and unintentional transitions between scenes.
I like Jackie where is Bing Bing? Richard Gere should be respected
I personally think Jackie Chan is really adorable 😍. My favorite Jackie Chan movie is " Tuxedo," A side busting hilarious 😂 movie, lol😊😊😊
Wow this vid is great! Rare footage! 👍🏼👍🏼👌👌😃

@@SLICE_Full_Doc was so good!!!!!
Jackie chan never approved of this documentary.. This is just a fan using narrated audio over mixed footage edited together...
Jackie must know by now, no matter how 'great he becomes' he'll never be anything of value to the regime once they're through with him.
Did it ever occur to you he's actually just playing along and using the CCP to boost his career instead?
at the end he was already too old when he became really famous in the US with Rush Hour... and came back to China cause he got the same role
