At 11 months old he's still a puppy at heart, or rather a big puppy physically, and you can tell by how cheeky, mischievous, playful and just all over the place he is.
Not just heart. They grow until they are two years old. Filling out with lean muscle and strong bones. I love Dobermans too!

Congratulations Gerald. I am an old Doberman guy and I get upset when I see what many Dobermans in America have been turned into. I have been on this channel and some others discussing "real" Dobermans. There are still a few good Doberman breeders in the US but they are few and far between. Years ago I did Schutzhund work and had some great dogs. The American dogs have become too refined for the show ring and much of their working ability and drive has been bred out of them. A lot of people don't know to look for the darker markings and larger head size. Dobermans were engineered for specific abilities, even their size has purpose. The ideal size was 28"x28" as a size suited for multiple purposes. You have a beautiful Doberman. Casanova is a Casanova and I wish you the best of luck with him. Doberman's truly are the best all around dog. They are the definition of brains, brawn and beauty. Seriously, no other breed has everything that a well bred Doberman has. Definitely would love to see how Casanova turns out in the future.

I don't have the energy to properly raise a solid working Doberman, or any working dog now. But if I did, I would have another Doberman and perhaps a Dogo or Boerbeol to go with my Dobe. Best wishes.

I have a European Doberman. He is extremely smart. He passed his Canine Good Citizen and Community Good citizen test. He knows that I have disability with my hearing loss. He did wake me up when he heard some one knocking on the door at 300am and he alerts me when someone walks up behind me. I love my hearing aid dog

I had an European doby imported, luckily with exact character as this one. Even looks very similar, only mine doesn't have cropped ear, though tail was docked from 2nd joint.

I have owned Pitbulls, German Shepherd, Mastiff, and Danes.. One thing I look for is that they keep the original purpose in the dog. This is why I'm not a fan of huge Pittbulls or the different American Doberman colors. I want a dog that has the original size, drive, and look for what they were breed for, and I have to say your European Doberman has all of that!

My brown/rust was born w a white spot, originally the breeders decided to sell him as a domestic pet if he didnt grow out of it, and he grew out of the spot by the time he was 1 week old, melanin took over the tiny patch of white. I originally had another pup picked out, but when i met this one i immediatly bonded w him, hes absolutely gorgeos, even the breeders said hes the best male in the litter and also leader of the pack. All thats left of the spot is 2 white hairs that i refuse to pluck cause i love he has that little feature. Hes a european. Cant imagine what kind of c word would just cut out a peace of skin. Greedy b..

Hi I bought a Doberman from a breeder...i saw parents on site they looked everybit of what youve explained. My dog is now 10 and half months and 90lbs..28inch at the shoulder thick bones dark markings the whole Nine yards very powerful too. But my question is do their heads widen and become more massive a liitle later since they grow to about 18months? Because he has the body of a male now but the head of a solid female...

I was hoping to get some ideas as to what people's male Dobermanns weigh. I took my 7month old to the vet yesterday and he weighed 89 lbs. We were all shocked, the vet said she thought he would top out at around 120. I would love to hear about other peoples dogs.
I’ve seen numbers like 90-100 for male being the average, so for female I’d say it should be less than that. I don’t think 120lbs would be a good weight for the dogs structure, hopefully it’s healthy wherever you guys are.
My girl was about 99 pounds, european dobermann, so dont worry about it!!

I have no idea why Americans are trying to make Greyhounds out of Dobermanns. The breed is fine the way it was designed.
My Doberman's father is Euro and the mother is American, my Doberman is sleek with long legs and a thick neck.
I’m stuck between a Euro Dobbie, Euro Rottie and working line GSD. All 3 are highly intelligent. Coming from a Belgian Malinois I am more than prepared to work with an energetic dog.
1. There is No-German shepherd dog including DDR working line on this planet, which do not have dysplasia or hip problems still starting around 6 years and further....It brakes your heart to see this pain daily....2. German shepherd loose sooo much hair anytime and everywhere....you neeed same time for hoovering than for walking, training and playing with your GSD.
@@egolfandenmatten5813 Actually, there are some German Shepards from Europe that have a different conformation than American GSD. The backs don't slope like American GSD. They are significantly less prone to health issues. The sloping back was created in America from the show ring. Somehow some people thought the sloping back was more attractive. Another dog was nearly ruined by the conformation people. If you see a GSD from Europe you will be able to see the difference. Also, the American GSD was overbred because during WW2 Americans couldn't get dogs from Europe. But you are right about dysplasia. It is terrible to see.
Nice Doberman! But me personally, I like to see more control over the dog. Like for instance, if I were in your shoes shooting this video and my dog was all over the place or all over me, I would command more calmness in that instance. But that’s just me. Clearly it wasn’t an issue for you as you didn’t seem to mind.

You really can't go wrong with any. Just depends on the breeding and parents. All three are fantastic breeds and very handsome to boot. I personally favor either a working line German Shepherd or Doberman but I also love Malinois. Remember Doberman I'm working line German Shepherd are larger than Malinois. And they both have a better off switch for home living. I don't know what other your goals you have for the dog besides guarding your home and yourself

Hmmm thats a tough question based on those 3 breeds, they're all great for protection...really they're all all-rounders. But if you're choosing take those of European stock. Sorry to say the U.S has made a mess of really fine european breed of dogs. For me personally i like the doberman. Excellent guards of compound and personally. My own left a clean cut track around the perimeter of the yard. He'd patrol as though he was mandated to. They just can't stay still, they don't walk, they trot.
