I've worked on several similar games with a small team at a different studio over the years and they've let me use the same engine they developed in house and a lot of my previous work could be adapted too, so luckily I wasn't starting completely from scratch - still it's taken a bit of work

As SupCom fan, i really looking for your game, and i wishlist it on Steam a year ago already ! I can't wait for the release !
Forged alliance supreme commander has a HUGE issue that bothers me. If you have 100 resources and 100 builders, then each builder will use that 100 resources, totalling up to 10.000 resources poured into a construction. I think this is bullshit and breaks a really cool resource flow game mechanic. Question is, does your game provides this explooit or resources allocated properly and thus makes it important to gradually scale eco, instead of having 1 mine and 9 million builders...

Been subbed for a while but wanted to give a huge thank you for all the content you do! A year ago I thought this genre was dead. But boy was I wrong! It seems like it's about to be as alive as it was back in the 90's, which makes me so happy!

It's funny but the last few months have been great for RTS and for the most part, it has been a pretty dead genre. Notable mentions are games like Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance and Aliens: Dark Descent (Aliens is a fantastic game)
The bit with mass conflict started strong but gradually made me more and more worried, we will just have to see where it goes

I'm a bit concerned with ending with an "over saturation" effect. Anyways, to narrow things down, I'm focusing on the two StarCraft-like ones: ZeroSpace and Stormgate. And the two that have a similar Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander style: Industrial Annihilation and Sanctuary: Shattered Sun.
I see, thank you for sharing. Most of these games release in non content finished states, so there is plenty of time down the years to play them all.

This is one area where PCs shine over Consoles. I mean, how many of these games are also coming for the latter?
Very few, and it is not cool. There are lots of RTS players on consoles. What RTS games have you played on consoles?

There are a lot of games I want to try on here when they come out, but many I've commented on when you covered them in other videos. Songs of Silence was new to me though and it looks really cool! Its great to see games that look like many of my favorite classics and I hope they turn out well. Warchief made me laugh because the attacks from that video looked like Demacians from league of legends. It was so close I rolled my eyes.

The Sanctuary Shattered Sun, has the feeling of the Supreme Commander, which I am very excited for as large scale battles are amazing. I am very excited and hope that RTS comes back with these games, as would be awesome to see their popularity come back.

It is really refreshing to see so many promising RTS games coming up this and last year. I think most of them made by the genre funs that grow up and no ready to make their own dream game =) Just hoping that current AAA gamedev trend won't negativelly affect INDIE devs that much. p.s. new gems each video, thanks for the good job =)

It looks way more like Supreme Commander 1, which is much, much better I’d say. It looks almost exactly like it in fact, but with more modern graphics and a different art style.

You should play oldest rts of last 1990s and 2000s gold decade. Rise of nations, command and conquer, warcraft, star raft, tzar, universe at war, empire at war, halo wars, dawn of war, etc
Definitely the golden years. People still play and adore most of the games that came out back than. Even Impossible Creatures has a dedicated community keeping it alive.

So anyone who is curious, for Age of mythology retold, there was no mention of the Chinese expansion, which either means they wont be included on the game's released or kept really quiet to severely rework as AOM needs some serious reworks because some bonuses from certain gods are difficult to overlook over others such as the plenty vault compared to a lightning storm.

@@perafilozofYes, and I thought it was needed to share since from various videos that say "top # RTSes", with AOm being up there, a number of them mentioned that there was no mentioned of tale of the dragon, which lead to speculation that the chinese are being severely reworked. But chances are, the devs will take the criticism the wrong way. Though the game itself needs some reworks for one reason or another, what I said in the comment was an example, I am sure there aer dozen others but I cant remember them.
It is hard to know about stuff they don't want to comment on. All guess work after that point.

what rts would you recommend for someone whos sick or rts's having starcraft syndrome? i just want to play a strategy game, not snort 5g of coke washed down with a litre of monster in order to micro-cheese and rattle my keyboard like im getting hypothermia while the map resources drain to zero.

I've always wanted to play a hardcore space colony builder and there are many I would choose from on this list. Honorable mention: Beneath the Mountain. It's an inde developer underground dwarven colony builder/base defender game with beautiful architecture & character design. This game deserves more love!

Really interesting RTS on this list , Agony Lords of hell, from glory to goo, gods against machines, I like titles that try to bring new concepts, and obviously if you like the C&C universe, DORF is a no brainer. I don't know why Homeworld 3 is not on this list, big name, which will probably also retail for 60 euros.

Why the Sanctuary: Shaterred Sun looks like reskined/recyclated Supreme Commander RTS?

To some extent it can't not to as its developers took direct inspiration from SupCom, but they have bigger plans to make it different and unique with stuff like destroying the surface of the Dyson Sphere and dropping units into the sun and weather control. @@perafilozof thx for the link, i played SupCom from end of elementary school and even these days sometimes get taste to play it like other my favorite RTS with mods (right now have installed CaC3 TW:KW, RA2YR, RA3 and even SC2 with multyple diffrent mods for multyple diffrent playthroughs trough each campaign, best mods are the one that are immersive but not exactly ballanced to not get feels like the sides of conflicts have just reskin units with the same purpose). by many high end quality total rework mods with full campaign compatibility link here one outstanding for RA3 that is actually in development and will come at Q1-Q2 of this year: kzhead.info/sun/rLizY65uqWqIfK8/bejne.html

Empire Eternal reminds me a lot of rise of nations. In fact, it looks more like a remake of rise of nations and all of these games seem very interesting just shows that the idea of command and conquer is alive

Will these RTS games have controller support? Things are changing and we have *hand* held gaming PCs rising in popularity now. RTS genre needs to expand, no pun intended.
Those that are on Consoles or on Steam deck count in that, I think? As for the rest, it is a rare thing to see. Which of these games are you most looking forward to?

@@perafilozof well its been awhile since I played any RTS, but I occasionally go back to warcraft 3, supreme commander, Dawn of War or C&C series (red alert 2-3, Generals, Tiberium Wars.)
