Working as an electrician I now use these backroom stories to scare new helpers. It's eerie how many places we go to that actually end up looking like this

I delivered some heavy internet equipment to a data center for credit card processing, it looked like the SpongeBob silver backrooms it was all white walls but the lights gave everything a chromatic blue light , only markings were random lettering on the floors
I really like the concept of the backrooms but the monsters are a little out of place. Would be much more interesting if it was just the never ending hallways and rooms.
I like to think of it as the monsters are what happened to the people who went mad and ended up changing into them. But i also thought about what if they're like the dark beings that feed on the stress and sorrows of extreme work life. But they do still seem a bit odd
There was a movie with this concept but it had to do with being stick in an endless field of corn crops, though I don't think it's as scary as the backrooms concept.

When I was a kid I used to go to the Pediatrician and one of his rooms was painted this color. All the other rooms where white. But this one room was yellow. And for some reason he always put me and mom in that one. That room would give me small panic attacks and I had no idea why.

It has been noted that yellow can actually make people nervous. That's why in psychiatric hospitals the rooms are painted soothing, calming colors like blue and green. 💚 💙

I have been a security guard for many years in many different places. Imagines of “back rooms” instill a little fear deep down in me. I have experienced some of these images personally. Large abandoned office buildings,factories,oil installations,and a foreign embassy that was a NYC mansion. I saw no monsters but believe me I had that cautionary fear that these images bring back to me.

the point of the backrooms is that there's nothing so the only step to escaping is finding a fake wall/floor/ceiling and going through it

For myself, Backrooms videos feels familiar and unsettling because I've been in a few office moves after hours. I noticed immediately how unnatural and unsettling the office environment feels when there are no desks and it's night. Also, more and more retail is failing which leaves these foreboding spaces abandoned like dyeing malls open to the public but not a soul in sight. Its like when I walked into Fry's Electronics only to see shelves stocked with paper or Sears before it's closure. Its all these experiences that make the backroom seem more like our collective subconscious is telling us that the world we knew as a kid is going away. But, I know there is real lore surrounding the Backroom video but I remember my first impression.
I had these type of dreams a lot when I was younger. I got pretty shocked after realizing that many people experience something close

This video is really well done, I didn't realize only six minutes have passed halfway through the video. I thought it was already ten minutes or longer. I was fully immersed in the video which made me experience the long long time inside the backrooms
I love this video and how it helps shine a light on people who are confused! And the narrator is clear and easy to understand. Personally i think there are hundreds to thousands of levels in the backrooms.

This reminds me of a dream I've had for many years. There's several variations. One is that I'm in my old house and there's like a magic door in my parents' bedroom that leads down through a hidden staircase in the walls to a secret part of the house underground that's huge and expansive, but totally empty. I would walk through it as a kid and just feel this eerie feeling like a presence but also like a longing, a shadow. The other variations are that I'm in another location, an old mansion or even a new apartment and I find a doorway. It's just like one room after another, and they're all furnished but there's no one in them and they're secret. There's this eerie feeling and a presence and it gets more intense the deeper I go. It scares me. It feels like something dark. But it also calls me and the closer I get to it, the more I feel like I'm home.

I feel like nobody remembers the old idea for the Backrooms. It was much more eerie and creepy. Endless hallways that seem familiar to you with nobody to talk to and the feeling of somebody watching you.
Its much better than the one now.
@@bek2026 Not really. It's better with the feeling of being alone. Adding creatures ruins it. Being alone and feeling like something is watching you but never getting to know or see what it is is terrifying.

@mr.wendigo Yeah, I was thinking that, too! Recently I've been wondering that if you die in your CR (current reality), you kind of regenerate or respawn in your DR (desired reality). It's very plausible imo, because when you're shifting and you die in your DR, you just return to your CR. And there's also a method of respawning yourself to your DR (it's super dangerous though, I'm not gonna attempt it until I'm like 80). And there's been so many stories I've seen on the internet where people will die and then they just reappear a few seconds later, like nothing changed. It brings up so many questions, like "is there a reality where you're completely immortal?" or "what happens when all of your lives are up?"
I have had a dream once (im not sure when I had it, but I know I did not know what the backrooms were when it happened) I was walking with my parents and then they stopped to talk to someone, I blinked, walls of sunshine yellow had appeared around us, but the adults did not seemed to notice. A black figure walked out from behind a wall, I start running, I slip and the dream ends. This dream seems so real im not sure it's a dream.

Here’s a summary of this video and a bit more info on the backrooms Basically there’s this place called the backrooms (which aren’t actually real) but it’s nothing like reality and has its own laws of physics such as “no clipping” (glitching through things) and so much more weird stuff, mostly because it is out of reality. To get to the backrooms you simply must “no clip” out of reality. The backrooms is mostly known as a long, yellow, non-linear area with buzzing lights that make you lose your sanity but it’s not that simple. The backrooms has an infinite/unknown amount of levels and no guaranteed exits. Each level is unique and has its own laws towards physics. There are also entities (monsters) in some specific levels depending on its class. Class 0 meaning it is secure safe and has a devoid of entities all the way up the class 5 which is unsafe unsecure and has a large amount of entities I hope this comment helped some people understand a bit more about the backrooms and what it’s about.

A group of friends and I legit had this happen just without the weird animal things. in a random room after getting off an elevator - nobody had ever seen this floor before. We somehow found our way back but the memories of how are gone from my brain. We tried over and over again to get back to the room but we never could. Weird part is we got to the room by jumping in unison at a specific moment when the elevator is in between floors. Idk man- we’ve talk about it a few times but it’s always been a sore subject.

The original backrooms actually didn't seem to have creatures, and for my taste, It was a lot scarier like that, because It made you feel like It wasn't right, that there must be someone or something spying you, that nothing could never ever be that empty. Spoilers: places never are that empty

how to tell if you're in the backrooms: Remove 2 flourescent lights from the fixtures and check the serial/product # ...it should say the manufacturer info. If it's blank you're in the backrooms.

Honestly having a monster thing bearing down on you is way less scary than the existential dread of something you can’t see that torments you as you wander the rooms. It can see you, but you can’t see it. That kind of dread of something behind you that you can’t see or defend yourself against, that’s the ultimate kind of fear.

Most fears originated from it. The fear of unknown is the most terrifying the fear of the dark,water,space, and death originates from it as you fear it because of the uncertainty on what will happen

I honestly like the concept of the fusion of the new and old versions of the back rooms some cryptic entity the isn’t inherently monstrous just… strange, shifting between a weird balance of silent observation and curious interaction without ever saying anything, nothing you do could stop it or maybe it’s especially easy, it could grab you but never hurt you, chase you with blinding speed but never catch you, or maybe it lags so far behind that it can barely catch up to you, but the vastness of the back rooms could you back to it at anytime long after you’ve forgotten it was there or maybe it’s initial impression sticks with you but you don’t know what it will do to you if you meet it again. Idk the thought of that scares me more just “rawr imma monster” and way more than “seeing without it being seen” cause it’s enough information to be afraid without it being some beatable monster or this enigmatic entity I can’t see, I CAN see this “thing” but I don’t know what it wants from me I don’t know if I CAN defend against it, I don’t even know if I need to but I shouldn’t try to find out, even if I can. There’s enough that it lets me do without it being borderline non existent but it isn’t animal, scp thing that just murders me. I’m not trying to argue I just wanted to share😅 hope I didn’t come off as pretentious or argumentative I just really like horror stuff like that😅

This video _itself_ is like a backroom. The almost cheerful, 90's TV commercial voice that at any moment seems like it's going to try to sell you a skateboard; the abruptness of the storytelling with no preamble to prepare you for what's about to happen; the novel-like storytelling combined with the present-tense that summarizes, seemingly leading constantly to a point just around the corner, but the corner never arrives and even when the story ends it doesn't do so conclusively. The denouement helps pull me back to reality, but I'm still discomforted.

I have a doubt:- How did we know that the backrooms existed, if no one who went there returned? And how did we know how the backrooms looked like, if there was no one to tell? Also, why didn't 2 or more people go together to the backroom?

I loved the video! The only problem is that there are no entities in level 0 and also there are no records of human contact in level 0 no one knows if it is even possible. The rooms are far too confusing and change every few minutes.

I had dreams like this but the most terrifying AND awesome dream was when i dreamed about a place like an old school, with red brick walls. Even on the inside. In building there was a wide staircase leadig deeper and deeper and deeper. The deeper i went the colder and darker it went. So i decided to go even deeper and it felt like a sci-fi movie. In my mind i thought it was a secret, abandoned staircase that someone built way back in the 30s leading to a secret research lab. The more i went down the more presure i felt in my head. Soom after like 3 hours of walkimg down those stairs i found an empty hall that was painted with a old faded yellow paint, i saw some doors but i never found the curage to open those so i went back to the stairs but the stairs was not present anymore. After that, i woke up. Playing Portal 2 when youre going back in time and see the history of the experiments is the closest thing ive ever been to that dream. Its was like a said terrifying and AWESOME at the same time.
Way more scary with just infinite rooms. Cause it’s more realistic. Got stuck in a part of the Westgate, never ending, no reception, felt like I’d been walking in circles for roughly 45 minutes. Was desperate to find an exit. I’d be happy to see another entity somewhere shoot, at least I can interact with it lol. Reflects my own fears more than anything else.
Back in highschool when the teacher tells us to do a composition writing, this probably would have gotten the A+.

@@yruganbunabiryii6914 If there are monsters, you can lewd the monsters no matter how horrific or scary they are and avoid going completly insane by just taking in a very weird kink, the lack of monsters or any other living being is scarier than anything, we humans are used to monsters on the night, after all for eons we huntered in the forest where monsters(read dangerous animals) where creeping in the night, so we are actually quite prepared to deal with that without mentally breaking, but for what we are absolutly unprepared is solitude and lack of stimulus. People will choose self harming over boredom given the choice, people will go insane without social interactions very quickly and start to allucinate. For monsters we are unprepared, but not for nothingness, for that we are absolutly unprepared.

It’s 6:45am i haven’t slept yet…. I’m watching videos a hit back rooms for the first time…. Suddenly my tv turns on and my fire stick starts updating. I’ve never seen it do that before, it was as if it quietly just snuck onto the tv as if I wouldn’t notice it in my direct line of sight…. So strange.
I believe that the backrooms should have as many levels as possible but no entities,it ruins the feeling of being completely alone. I also know that the og post mentioned something abt some being sharing the same space with you,but I like to think that nothing is there except you.

My highschool in Lexington Massachusetts looked exactly like the backrooms. These backroom videos give me an uneasy feeling about remembering that place. Almost like it wasn't real
