It's probably the most important and loved non-secular holiday in Latvia, when all Latvian families gather in the countryside and celebrate the beginning of summer with big fires, dancing and singing 😍😍. It is well known in other northern European countries too.

If you look at our history and culture you will see we have always been strong in our beautiful pagan ways. PIE is the mother of all European languages. I don't know why and how the four or five strands of PIE language branched off, Celtic, Germanic, Slavic, Latin, Greek and Baltic (is that similar to Slavic?) . I tend to go with the theory that most Europeans came as Kurgans from Russia and invaded thousands of years ago, of course you have people like Basques etc. that were here before, maybe even the Sami people too.
