New tutorial! - • 5 ways to LIGHT your v...
I used Da Vinci Resolve to edit!!
This video has the vibe of one that came out like 15 years ago on KZhead. Very cool!
SAME!!!
I know its a bit irrelevant but which book were you reading in the video?
This is good to hear as I just downloaded that! Great work!
Great talent.
Talking to yourself and keeping both characters in the same frame has to be the quickest and most simple guide. Thank you!!!!
your welcome! 😃
exactly
Can you please tell which app did he use at 1:35...... Pls! Pls! Pls!

blown away by how i never thought the talking to yourself shot was SO simple-- as simple as a stack and crop---
Right! I always wondered how they did it
My problem with that is I never have anything to say. 😄 But in my videos I do do something similar.
It is very simple but you gotta make sure the lighting stays consistent. Natural light tends to change and it can ruin the shot 🙌🏻
How does this shock anybody?
@@Pmccaff2009 Not sure, guess some people just gloss over it. I’m sure there’s something blaring obvious that I’m amazed by that I’ve never put much thought into.
Step 1: Get a camera.
Step 2: Buy a selfie stick with 3 legs 😅
@@kafkaesk_you mean tripod wtf bro selfie stick with 3 legs 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am poor 😢!
Impressive. Judging by your skills, the 90's aesthetic of this video was definitely on purpose. At least, it gives me the impression that this wasn't filmed in 2021, or even this century. The tips are top notch as well. Congrats, man.
It's giving 2000s indie film vibes for me
@@franfran1408 YES
It’s like this because of the quality of camera
And his 80's haircut made it even more convincing.
@@fearlesspie1314not true. It's like that because of the lens and color grading and effects
This had sorta a nostalgia feel to it. Can’t explain it. Great job!
Yeah it took me back to early days of youtube indie filmmaking content - like indie mogul fan kids who get into diy vfx/practical effects and stuff
@@boomcrayon same!
It feel like im watching breaking bad
The last thing to do is watch in 360p.
IKR!
I love your string on the slider trick, looks smooth and professional. Also, lights placement plays a major role in making your films look cinematic.
no u dont u just like it
May I ask what did you use to pull the string?
This is definitely a sign for me to start cause the idea of making short films or making anything on my own was floating in my head. But I always chickened out. Brilliant video. Thank you.
saaaame here I had a ptoject last semester to shoot an advertising and since then I love film making more than my major I may be able to connect these 2 tho
Ive never done a single ounce of cinematography in my life, but seeing your vid from recommendations definitely did me wonders. Every trick you used here was AMAZING. You're a genius 0:39 Looks like a genuine scene from an old 80s movie
hahah i thought the same thing for that 0:39 seconds! lol
fr, my exact thoughts!
Could be the Breakfast Club lmao
i think it's also their hair.
i mean obviously their hair doesn't play a big part in it but i feel like it plays some part in how it looks. idk :3
The color grading gives 90s teen movie vibes, what camera and lens did you use?
I wanna know me tooooo
.
Yes!! I love it.
I’m curious too!
Probably a Canon Rebel
You've taught so much of what other content creators hold back on, or take forever just to explain, in this short video by keeping it simple/easy to understand with your examples. Thank you! 😄💕🙏🏾
I’ve been thinking of making my own projects of filming myself and this couldn’t have come at a better time. This is great!
The mirror shot is super creative!! I'll definitely have to try that out sometime!! Great video! Thank you!
It reminds me of how Gus Vant Sant shoots sometimes
Love this, the selfie stick one looks like it could be used for a music video
Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 captures the Selfie Stick vibe
@@Guilherme-Ribeiro597 I just watched the music video- I loved it so much. Definitely going on my playlist. I was thinking of Christian Leave - 10 Steps when I commented about this.
@@BarknoorZ Just listened to "10 steps" and it's a really good, upbeat song. The selfie stick camera is definetely there, too!
Love this comment sections energy - you’re wholesome!
I have a new tutorial video out now!
For a beginner, what tripod and camera do you recommend to make ones own music videos??
What video editing app are you using
@@malleomusic Just iMovie on my Macbook Pro. I'm more of a music creator, but like to start branching out into music videos.
@@EmptyAngelo aye what drugs are you taking man are you okay
@tristanNitch
I really admire your artistic and film grainy style in your videos. It makes them stand out and look amazing. I enjoy watching your content and I hope you keep creating more! ❤
Can't wait to try this out. Love the moving scene one super cool for keeping things exciting in a more static video style.
Feels like some 2000's movie
I can´t wait to try it either. Looks amazing!
With tip five (pt 2), I've done it so many times but it's always a gamble for me because the lighting between the two clips is often different, so the split is pretty obvious :( I try to film with minimal times between the videos, don't change anything in the background, and film inside without any natural light interfering as much as I can, but the lighting is always inexplicably different >:/
Were there times where it looked good & natural ?
flim in the same spot as you flimed the first shot and then go to your editor invert it to make it point the other way.
@@JustMe-qs2xy Yeah, sometimes it looked okay. Recently it's just been playing up.
@@DatVex Hmm, thank you, I'll try that.
If ur in iphone hold down for a sec and itll lock the exposure. That’s probably ur problem :) I’m sure other phones have this option but I just use iPhone so it’s all I know.
Great tips! Totally on point. I’m here for this. 👏
Thank you so much! As a high school student taking screen and media classes and someone who just enjoys film in general this is so useful to me :)
Truly deserved a sub! Simple tutorial, no talking and straight to the point!
This is sick, I watched it 3 time just thinking of how I should incorporate these shots in my short film, thank you!✨
Ahh this made me feel so much better,I was overwhelmed by how I would film my short film❤️❤️❤️ Thank you 😊
This. This is what I've spent the last few weeks searching for. Thanks for the great demos!
this year i was thinking about getting into filming and editing but having second thoughts. I can't describe this made me excited. easy and doable
this is very creative and actually seems simple enough and fun to do! will attempt in the future.
Straight to the point, no unnecessary talking, the title isn't misleading....thank you Sir Tristan!
And if your character does a drug, or gets hit on the head, or has a dream, or feels overwhelmed, you can back up while holding the camera and zoom in at the same time ( it creates a really cool effect ) . Also, if you are ever turning/panning a camera on a pedestal, use a rubber-band to turn it, it smooths it out and gets rid of the jerky-motion.
Love the look of your video. Also the guide for talking to yourself in the same frame was great. I didn't think it could possibly be so simple.
I love these! So simple but they make a huge difference. I can’t wait to try these out 😊
Man I’m loving this! I’m definitely taking these pointers and trying them. I didn’t even realize how easy it was
dude you are a genius. Wish i was like you when i was younger, i tried making some films and never could figure stuff out. Perhaps i should try again now that you inspired me. Thanks for the tips
did you use any color grading in this video or this is how your room's lightinf actually looks? because it's the ambience i always wanted to achieve but could never
most likely colour grading, especially considering this channel is very film/video editing-oriented !
tell me if you found anyhting too, i soooo wonder
This is so simple and well made! Ty!
This is super cool. I love the that 70s show smoke circle effect you did and also how you cloned yourself in the talking to yourself shot. You’ve got the tools to be a filmmaker 🙏🤜🤛
The room, the music, all feels very British. In any of those shots I was expecting Jason Statham to pop out and ask you to go with him to rob a local mafia boss. Really nice!
This video is amazing on its own. I thought I was watching some old style videos for a moment. Amazing skills!!!
This looks great, man! Keep posting things like this pls!
Great video on filming tips, and I love the color grading. But man that song just makes it. The snare hits sound like actual notes I love it.
This has to be one of the coolest demonstrations of film. Thanks for sharing!
One of the greatest simplest most useful filming vids I ever seen lol wish I found this sooner, great job frfr 🔥❤️🔥❤️
i like the video! simple yet really informative, and it's not a 10 minute video about explaining useless stuff lmao. i don't need to film myself or anyone but maybe I'll keep these in mind! thanks! :D new sub earned :)
Awesome video, sick music too. Thanks for sharing!
This is such a “no bullshit, helpful and well put together” video. Subscribed and hit the bell 👍
Absolutely love these tips, especially the mirror tip! Sooo dreamy. You gave so much value and I can’t wait to elevate and make my content more interesting!
Ni hao maa, Ni Jiao Shen Me mingzi?
Simple and perfect... I wish there were more videos like this on KZhead.
Thanks for the tips!! You make everything look effortless but I can see there are a lot of efforts in the set up to get everything right
Great tips, presented in a fun energetic way. Thank you 🙏
1:26 took me 10 years but you finally showed me how to do it THANK YOU 🎉🎉🎉❤
You're insanely talented, and immensely photogenic. Thank you for the tutorial, I'm off to have a conversation with myself and try out the technique.

Just out here making an insanely helpful video without saying a word. You, sir, are dope.
Thanks, this video gave me so much more ideas that I didn't think about before. I'm trying to start out on solo filmmaking. I've already wrote the script now I'm trying to figure out all the shots so this video helped a lot!
Just found your channel, your videos are so dope! Keep creating dude
This video inspired me to just get up and film something for once and for all. Thank you, also, could you please share what program do you use for editing and color grading?
This was exactly what I needed. Thanks!! (Also, it smacks of the 80s & 90s vibe, dig how you put it together)
Very informational. not a loads of bs. i learned a lot. Great job, man.
A fellow DaVinci editor! Nice video, interesting ideas! 👍
One thing you forgot to mention is to have a cinematic background or cinematic room in your case😭
I must say, this is a very aesthetic tutorial. Glad this video came up in my timeline!
