This is the reason why Wardens are blind in Minecraft! And what is the theory / lore behind the warden, sculk, and ancient cities in the 1.19 wild update? This theory is pretty crazy!

Most creatures that live underground or in complete darkness in real life actually have very small eyes to no eyes at all. This is because when you live in pitch black, sight isn’t really a useful sense so in order to heighten their other senses such as hearing, smell, and touch they often adapt to be blind or literally have no eyes at all.
Minecraft is a video game, it has zombies, Hags, Skelton, mer-zombies, Endermens that can teleport and then flying creatures that keep attacking yiu until you have a full nights rest- trying to apply "science" on a fantasy video game doesn't make sense
@@skittles1662 why did you watch this video then?
@skittles1662 Then why would they delete features and stuff like that so than it's realistic?
its blind because its meant for pitch black darkness, the deepest depths of the world. also its more terrifying to hear it sniff you out, to know it hears your every move, to see its soul heart beating faster as it stumbles in your direction, to hear it roar and chase you down, and smash you to bits. to hear it charging its laser, to hear it growl in rage.
Like bats they have really bad vision
@@CapyTheBara1 they have no vision, otherwise they'd see you instantly and attack. they can feel you if you bump into them, which they find rude and start attacking, or they sniff you out, because steve forgot to put deodorant on and he stinks, or they hear you and hate that too so they attack.
They aren't blind guys they just see different
@@bigwarboy99 they have no eyes just a big mouth.
some animals can kinda see in pitch black but ye
Here's another theory about the Warden and skulk: When the Anceint Builders tried to make the Ancient Citys portal they were trying to go to a more peaceful place because someone or something was trying to attack them. Or... a war was going on the surface between end and nether. So some went to the end and became endermen and some went to ancient citys. But accedentily lit the skulk portal. Bringing the Warden. Everyone went crazy trying to run while some placed wool and others threw snowballs. The Warden on the otherhand wanted to go back to his dimmension but couldn't, he needed something... or things. Do you see the souls trapped in the Warden? He needs souls to power the portal. One day when he gets the souls he will reopen the portal. Like if you liked theory
Nice
@@snico1 thanks
Ok cut from when they lit the portal, they decicded to think that these are powerful creatures can protect them thus made it rule the city but ended up killing them thus (continue to your story)

What? "too overpowered with eyes". I think that because it is so dark in the deep dark, the warden developed abilities to hear better. In short, to account for the loss of one sense it grew it's other sense "stronger"? Is stronger the right word?
Yeah
Like the backrooms monster on level 0. It has no eyes so it relies on it’s hearing, and it’s hearing is very strong, that’s why the painting on the backrooms wall says, “Don’t move, stay still”

The warden with eyes looks so creepy and cursed
I don’t know, I think it looks kinda funny, it looks so surprised
I wittewy agree Even as Wardenslayer500
My theory is it was some sort of mob that died and it’s soul got caught in a sculk sensor and it was disturbed because when it was minding it’s own business the ancient builders came and destroyed some sculk, the sculk was alarmed and decided to use the souls to make a creature to protect them and then they placed them underground and made sculk shriekers so it would annoy the creature and start attacking what ever was making noise because it wants peace and quiet so it destroys anything that makes noise except the sculk so the shriekers shriek it would annoy the warden and it would dig up and start destroying anything that made a sound so then the ancient builders left. And why it doesn’t have eyes is for the warden doesn’t realize that the sculk is the one making them corrupted and the warden would turn on them
Maybe that mob was an axolotl, axolotls re really similar to wardens in look , and they re the only passif mob other than bats that spawns in caves ,they also have a really limited vision

Mini theory: the dimension from where the skulk came from is only pitch black underground as it maybe connects to another dimension underground. Maybe it will connect to a maybe more "peaceful" area on the surface.
The sculk was probably born by the xp from monster fighting each other. the sculk became self aware with the souls from dead mobs so it took bones to make its body to spread itself.
Wow I forgot you make these theories videos Keep it up
One of the best theory ever! Pls continue
such a good theory! id love to see more like this!
This is... So amazing! Like I could agree to all of this! Ima subscribe to see if the other theories are as good as this one!
The warden is blind because it has adapted to the darkness of the deep dark and has no use for its eyes and the eyes fall out of the warden
THAT'S WHAT I SAID!!! Since the warden has no eyes it's smell and hearing are enhanced
also if the other dimension is pitch black then yes the warden wont have eyes but maybe if it was in the over world then it would possibly have eyes
I agree
Not troo
!
i really hope that a new dimension gets added to further the lore
Fun fact to complicate the already complicated Minecraft lore: The warden/sculks have the same color palette as the end gateway/portal and yet they also have soul particles which means it's probably a hybrid
Skulk were made by builders to keep unlimited redstone as they were running out fast, but it was to dangerous to go get from mining, one day they experimented on the skulk, they then created their destroyer, the warden, it wiped them out and over time, they all ither starved or were killed.
It could be something simple like in the skulk dimension there's no sunlight so it either lost it's eye's or never evolved them since the skulk is like a parasite that adapts to it's situation but y'know :/
My theory is that the End is actually the future of Minecraft. After the Sculk ravaged everything living, only the bare Endstone was left. Slimes evolved into Shulkers with shells to protect themselves. Villagers had to hunt down the Ender Dragons for food, But after most of them were killed they had to eat chorus fruit that made them turn into Endermen.
Origin of the echo shard: when an amethyst shard found from the ancient builders left it in the sculked chest, it got corrupted by the sculk and it became what it is today

I think the Ancient City was where the illagers got the inspiration for their magic. And they have ran away from the Warden, though a few were caught by the Warden as well, and Illagers saw their team's soul become one with the Skulk.

In spectator the warden isn’t blind but that might be a mistake but I think the wardens eye is in that hole in its head

Ancient builders actually built the desert temples, Jungle temples, and so on and so forth, the ancient city is the main base of the ancient civilization. This is also meaning that they have made the Strongholds.
Ancient city’s were made before strongholds just weren’t added before it’s part of the lore Edit: to make it more clear, is that in the lore the ancient city was made first
The warden is blind because it has adapted to the darkness of the deep dark and has no use for its eyes 🤓
Its blind because the skulk that created it was alive but blind, and the warden is just skulk with souls, which means it is blind.
maybe the sculk always had souls, the warden just has more.
There are also many skulls in the ancient cities! I also believe in the theory that the deep dark dimension is so dark eyes are useless, which means if humans entered the dimension they would need night vision potions.
This is sooo cool! I love the Ancient Cities and Deep Dark
8:40 the warden might have become blind through evolution when the started living in the caves.
I have a question. Why would they evolve to become blind? If the caves are dark they could have evolved and increase their vision.
@@neelimarosekujur8061 Because to see, you need at least a little amount of light. If they are in a cave deep down without an ounce of light, they have no use for eys, therefor, evolution makes them without eyes.
The warden might have an echo location cause it's seems that it has no ears bit instead sensors that when a sound nearby happens it can sense it from it's echo lacation
They don't scream Unless when using the boom So they don't use echolocation
they definitely do have echo location, but I think the sculk sensor like prongs on the wardens head are ears, just like humans the ears can sense vibrantions then the brain recognizes those vibrations.
@@AnshuSingh-oq9go maybe when they scream for sonic boom they ARE using echo location, maybe they're trying to find where to shoot the attack
@@AnshuSingh-oq9go Obviously, their footsteps do the echo location. That's why they have big feet but not super big. So that they don't distract themselves with their own footsteps. But it's still enough to use echolocation.
That’s not how it works echo location is producing sound waves and the sound waves bounce off any objects and then you know where it is

@@Inactive_channel_deleted Because even humans can't see well in darkness
i swear dragon’s channel grew so much since i last checked he had 1k :D
It's because the sculk made the warden to protect themselves,as they themselves are pretty defenseless Ig It's because they don't have eyes themselves or it's because the warden would like to rather rely on his family who will alert him of movement. Sculk is everywhere,so it's hard to avoid it. Maybe that's why it thought eyes wouldn't be needed
Actually the reason warden's are named warden is cause the original name was gonna be william but they just spelled it wrong and they didn't care If you go on to minecraft's channel they made a video about the warden's secrets will some of them not all of them
Rest in peace Techno 🙏
The souls tend to be evil stuff in Minecraft, that's why they are trapped in souk sand in the nether, the warden has souls in it's chest, the "portal" in the middle of the ancient city looks like the warden, maybe the warden was some kind of deity and they just messed with stuff they didn't understand
I feel as if the Deep Dark and the portal of which it came from was in the nether, or perhaps past the lower bedrock. It would make sense, because all of the light blocks are in the nether and not the dark. You can also see the resemblance of the City portal and Nether portal. It would make sense because of the multiple soul entrapment capabilities with both soul sand and sculk
dragonic this entire video: *explains the lore of the entire universe*
When you go in spectator and go into its view, you can see normally. And not all mobs are like that. Spiders can see through all of their eyes, so it looks different. One of them also has a different view. And I doubt they forgot it. This isn't hate though!

love these videos
The one thing that everyone doesn't know is if you look closely to the wardens head it looks like he has hair
That was really nice.
This is a question I been wondering, why is the strong hold have so many twists turning hallway? When I first entered one I keep double back where I started.
actually the golden apple is a key that opens to a secret redstone experimental area when you eat it in the left hole underneath the bridge

It has been a long time seen you make a video
I like this theory because it lines up with how the nether seems to spread in the upcoming mine raft legends game
love the animations :)
The dark oak structures are the ancient builders patching up walk ways and bridges
I have a good reason to assume the ancient citys was built before the stronghold since we know they were built by the same builders they had a place to rest and stay before something terrible happened causing them to build the stronghold and retreating through the end portal and also I believe nothing "made" the warden blind if you didn't know most creatures that are born or live in the dark not above ground but in caves and stuff are blind like types of shrimp or axolotls and thats why bats are close to being blind but they aren't
Woah This Editing Is Cool

I luv this video so much! Tysm for making it! Also, who's Technoblade? And why are people saying R.I.P Technoblade?
Another thing is that if you look at the arms of the warden, they look like sculk catalysts, indicating that the Warden may be its own golem. Maybe it does have eyes, but the sculk sensor on its head grew over the warden's eyes.
Teacno never dies on our heart
Here's my theory why wardens are blind, for me it's because the sculk catalysts are the Brains of the warden, while sculk shriekers are its eyes well the, reason why wardens doesn't have eyes its because they don't really need it, think aboutb it, there are so many shriekers nearby you don't need eyes because there everywhere, and plus it's also dark in the caves, making It almost impossible to sea, and in a dark environment you don't need eyes, but it instead a strong hearing, I'm pretty sure that when ancient builders first encountered the warden. They had eyes, but when they were trapped there, eyes became obsolete, which means evolution just made the warden blind
My personal head canon as to why the warden is blind Is that scientists specifically designed the sculk As a direct counter to Herobrine. They didn't make eyes so that Herobrine couldnt turn it into a puppet. That's also why it has the sonic Shriek attack to knock him out of the sky.
Herobrine didn't exist back then, he probably appeared later
@@narrativeless404 Herobrine infected Minecraft before notch even play tested it the first time
@@wither_klng2881 The first mob was just a human with weird animations, Herobrine is not a virus to infect anything and he didn't exist Also, If Notch created Minecraft - it's just a narrative and Herobrine doesn't exist cuz Notch didn't intend him to
@@narrativeless404 I know that he doesn't actually exist. I'm just saying my own personal head cannon.
Ok dang this guy went into the lore of a block game
Personaly I think that the ancient cities (as well as strongholds) were populated by villagers. I like to imagine that the wardens lived alongside the villagers, protecting and giuding them (Similar to the iron golem) but one day the wardens began to fall sick, and were slowly corrupted. the skulk, once flourishing in gardens and reserves, became a sighn of danger. The wardens slowly went insane and began wreking the place, forccing the villager population to evacuate and join thier obove-ground friends. The skulk, slowly grew out of control, creeping everywhere, and the wardens, having only each other, got very lonely. But there may be hope to bring them (and the villager population) back.
this is reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly deep into the warden!
Ok, there are a few potholes, but still a nice theory!
awesome video!!!!
His theories are actually insane
My theory: the warden was like an golem that protected the people that were in the cities, when the sculk began to expand All over the place, the sculk got into the eyes of the warden, blocking his eyes, that's why he has some sculk parts on his head
Now this makes sense
Small counter thoughts: 1. While the sculk is focused in the cities I have reason to believe the fact that some sculk biomes do not possess cities and tend to be a bit smaller as a result do exist completely isolated from the biomes of the cities shows that the school was able to naturally leak through into the overworld but the denizens of the cities found some pockets and built around them 2. the people who dwelled within the city seem to have thrived much more than those of the stronghold (this is probably just because they haven’t updated strongholds yet) thus implying that the strongholds were last ditch efforts after the catastrophe of the surface and the catastrophe of the deep dark Which would explain why some strong holes can be found nearby ancient cities buried in the wall Otherwise absolutely love this theory
I have a really cool theory. It’s likely that sculk had existed even before the ancient cities were built, as a new, more powerful variant that has 3 properties from the normal zombie disease. 1: it can spread along blocks 2: it uses mob Xp 3: it is much, much worse than the normal variant. The sculk invaded much of the deep underground, but not much were known about this new variant , as the efforts were focused on the overground version. Eventually, the zombie disease reached a threshold where people would get infected rapidly. The nether soul sand contains souls. So they used wither skeletons, a powerful version of the normal skeletons that evolved in the nether, to make the wither. However, the wither ended up killing of even more of the humans, causing the remainder to flee deep underground. However, pillagers were also racing to conquer the whole overworld, and kill off all the ancient builders, so they also placed mini outposts in certain areas, causing both factions to fight each other. Eventually, someone triggered the warden to spawn. the builders, knowing the sculk better as they were more focused on the sculk variant after fleeing, crouched until the warden disappeared. But by the time it did, all the pillagers were killed off or fled. Eventually, the humans ended up settling near the sculk. They built giant cities, they used wool to muffle their noises, some were near mineshafts or strongholds at the Center they built a replica of the warden, and they secured peace… until the withers attacked. Turns out, the pillagers had sent an expeditionary force to the nether and got so much wither skulls and soul sand that the wither skeleton population can be classified as endangered and soul sand became much rarer than before, causing crimson and warped forests to appear. They spawned tens upon thousands of withers, which broke through. The population spawned the wardens again, and despite warding them off, ended up killing of all the builders, and damaged the ancient city. The tons of xp gained from that also covered much of what used to be the ancient cities. A long time passed. The overworld recovered. One day, someone was searching for diamonds for a certain build, or whatever they were building. Then, they stumbled on an old, ruined place. That someone is you. What would you do if you found an ancient city?
Game theory hire this man
do you think the next uptade is that the overworld just are skulk?
I always saw the mouth of the warden as an empty eye socket
Maybe the dimension the warden came from was so dark, they had no reason to evolve to have eyes, they evolved to have echo location
They do? Because echo location is actually making a sound and the vibration will bounce off and they will know where things are but warden don’t really do that ( I think btw I’m not sure if that is what echo location) my guess is they just go to any sound
I could have sworn I heard some villager related noise from the warden once
i have a theore can you look at the amethyest block it looks like skulk and echo shards are corupted amethyest is corupted to skulk
That theory maybe leads to a new game that theory the infection spreads and the mobs are infected and everyone must defend the over world trying to cure it
the wardens have a lot of simulatitys with the tyranids from the warhammer 40k universe
haha, different from what I was expecting with that timeline.
Oh that is interesting...
The end portal frames are made of sculk corrupted cobble stone think about it the end portal frames and the sculk look a like and can't be crafted by the player so it makes sense if the end portal frames are not made of natural endstone but sculk corrupted cobble stone
