plants feel pain and are also aware, they respond positively to kind words and negatively when they are berated. They also scream out in pain when stressed or damage. They also have memories and can hear. Which is wild.

Plants lack nerves, let alone a central nervous system, and cannot feel pain or respond to circumstances in any deliberate way (not to be confused with the non-conscious reactions they do have). Unlike animals, plants lack the ability or potential to experience pain or have sentient thoughts, so there isn't an ethical issue with eating them. The words 'live', 'living' and 'alive' have completely different meanings when used to describe plants and animals. A live plant is not conscious and cannot feel pain. A live animal is conscious and can feel pain. Therefore, it's problematic to assert that plants have evolved an as-yet undetectable ability to think and feel but not the ability to do anything with that evolutionary strategy (e.g. running away, etc.). I'm 'elderly', but when I was a child it really bothered me to hear people say mean things about animals, insisting they were totally unable to communicate (because they couldn't do it the way we do), stupid, etc. It was obvious to me that animals around me were 'talking' to us all the time, but our arrogance made us unable to comprehend.
This video is beyond beautiful. I've known since I was a child (90 years ago) that communicating with animals is one of life's most valuable gifts. Thank you for this gift.

There are so many people out there who don't realize how beautiful these animals are and were created for companionship not food. Just because someone greedy has introduced meat into the system doesn't make it right. If people like me can live 30 plus years and still be going strong not eating meat then it is not necessary.

Consider replacing the word "talk" with "communicate." Every animal communicates--often through senses other than verbal. They watch us and we give them so many cues. They smell our joy and fear, they see our reactions...and intentions. They feel our touch, as we feel theirs. The world hums with communication, we have only to learn and appreciate what's here for us, and participate fully in the concert.
