I liked to think, even though this isn't at all what happened. That the two were trying to have a fierce off. The Doberman trying to display why he is a feared dog, though showing his teeth. The Serval meanwhile, calmly proclaims that he has one advantage over the domesticated canine. The Serval is a wild cat who, because cat, doesn't depend on humans that much.

Blinking eyes like this means "i'm friendly" for the felines (if you blink back at your cat he will understand) and the meow are sweet too , so this serval is really nice to other animals

That's because that bad ass half wild hybrid Savannah cat knows for a fact that it can kill the dog. Clearly that cat is well fed and doesn't want conflict, so it meows softly, blinks slowly and carries a big stick in the form of athleticism, lightning fast reflexes, and very sharp claws. The dog knows this too I think, as it is clearly nervous and it's hind leg is trembling. That dog is probably scared shitless, as it knows that cat can can spill it's innards. Back to the cat's demeanor, this also applies to people. The ones who are calm in the face of conflict are the ones we are well advised to be respectful of 😆

The dog is a miniature pinscher...they're like tiny great white sharks trained by ISIS....don't underestimate a miniature pinscher. Some police departments use them to go into spaces the larger K9s can't fit. Minpins are fearless.

@@melfreemans Being fearless doesn't have anything to do with whether or not there's something to fear. Cemeteries are full of fearless fools and pride is a poor substitute for intelligence. That cat would have beaten the bark off of that dog if it needed to and it knew it. Which is why it was the true fearless animal of the two. Real strength means always questioning one's application of strength. Not waiving it overhead like if it can't be witnessed it can't be believed.

I think we should anthropomorphize a little more. All animals (we are animals too) have ways of communicating. Just because it's not like ours, doesn't mean we can't understand. Well the pincher learned agression somewhere an the cat learned to sit down an do nothing somewhere. Many videos like this (an my experience in real life) you can tell the owners are allowing an promoting one to be agressive an one to be a bia. Seen this happen in real life enough that you can tell by one or two actions when the owner appears in other famous videos like this its exactly whats happening. Humans do this to humans too. I think the dog is fiercely defending his territory of the moment...the bed. Perhaps the serval also lays there and wants to share it. I think you're absolutely right about the cat, but I think the dog is actually trying to make friends too. I thought when dogs pretend to be aggressive but they sneeze a lot, it's a cue that they are just playing. of course the cat can't really be expected to understand that kind of dog language😅

Tte serval is showing fear. The pincher is agressive. Its owner should correct its attitude, it's dangerous for those (servals, cats, dogs, babies, children, elders etc) who live with the pincher.

@@cardfreak0560 Exactly the reason why they shouldn't be kept as pets. Servals are admittedly very cute looking but they are wild animals and therefore cannot be tamed. These beautiful creatures belong in the wild so they can roam free and not be restricted to someone's apartment. For the dog, the owner and the servals sake, it should be released or brought to a wildlife sanctuary.

I've never seen such a situation where a cat communicates sweetly by blinking and meowing softly. And her body language is all in this communication. This is exceptional to see. She does not back down, she says everything is all right. The dog is angry, maybe he has had a less pleasant experience with the serval before. Wonderful to watch.

Search Savannah cats its a hybridcat bred from a domestic cat and a Serval. It's a bit complicated as there are different generations down the bloodline if that makes sense. I researched the savannah cat for 10 years. Then finally got my dream cat! Servals are not legal in the state I live in and neither are high percent Savannahs (F1, F2, F3 so I have an F4 Savannah cat. They're awesome!! But the early generations Will run you a pretty penny.

@@bo-dine7971 Pinschers are great watchdogs. This situation is likely a result of poor decision-making on the part of the owner. The serval was probably not introduced properly. Would other dog breeds be more relaxed? For sure. Does that mean that there is no value in the pros of the pinscher breed? No. The dog is fine and just sees the serval as an intruder because that's what the dog was bred for. The pinscher in this video is behaving violently, but not out of hate, rather out of fear and territoriality.

Notice how the dog sneezes between barks/growls; that is something dogs do to indicate that they are/want to play fight and are not being aggressive for real. I liked to think, even though this isn't at all what happened. That the two were trying to have a fierce off. The Doberman trying to display why he is a feared dog, though showing his teeth. The Serval meanwhile, calmly proclaims that he has one advantage over the domesticated canine. The Serval is a wild cat who, because cat, doesn't depend on humans that much.

Blinking eyes like this means "i'm friendly" for the felines (if you blink back at your cat he will understand) and the meow are sweet too , so this serval is really nice to other animals

That's because that bad ass half wild hybrid Savannah cat knows for a fact that it can kill the dog. Clearly that cat is well fed and doesn't want conflict, so it meows softly, blinks slowly and carries a big stick in the form of athleticism, lightning fast reflexes, and very sharp claws. The dog knows this too I think, as it is clearly nervous and it's hind leg is trembling. That dog is probably scared shitless, as it knows that cat can can spill it's innards. Back to the cat's demeanor, this also applies to people. The ones who are calm in the face of conflict are the ones we are well advised to be respectful of 😆

The dog is a miniature pinscher...they're like tiny great white sharks trained by ISIS....don't underestimate a miniature pinscher. Some police departments use them to go into spaces the larger K9s can't fit. Minpins are fearless.

I think we should anthropomorphize a little more. All animals (we are animals too) have ways of communicating. Just because it's not like ours, doesn't mean we can't understand. Of course that cat could kick that dogs ass. And its humans ass. It doesn't want to. It wants to live in peace in its lot, just like we all do.

These beautiful creatures belong in the wild so they can roam free and not be restricted to someone's apartment. I've never seen such a situation where a cat communicates sweetly by blinking and meowing softly. And her body language is all in this communication. This is exceptional to see. She does not back down, she says everything is all right. The dog is angry, maybe he has had a less pleasant experience with the serval before. Wonderful to watch.

Search Savannah cats its a hybridcat bred from a domestic cat and a Serval. It's a bit complicated as there are different generations down the bloodline if that makes sense. I researched the savannah cat for 10 years. Then finally got my dream cat! Servals are not legal in the state I live in and neither are high percent Savannahs (F1, F2, F3 so I have an F4 Savannah cat. They're awesome!! But the early generations Will run you a pretty penny.

@@bo-dine7971 Pinschers are great watchdogs. This situation is likely a result of poor decision-making on the part of the owner. The serval was probably not introduced properly. Would other dog breeds be more relaxed? For sure. Does that mean that there is no value in the pros of the pinscher breed? No. The dog is fine and just sees the serval as an intruder because that's what the dog was bred for. The pinscher in this video is behaving violently, but not out of hate, rather out of fear and territoriality.
This is a beautiful example for people who don’t really understand cat body language. Very carefully overt, far from subtle, like the serval knows the dog itself might need to learn ‘this means I’m not threatening you, I want peace, it’s okay’. What a polite kitty.
It has the slight tinge of 'I'm not bothered about you, but if you cross me you will regret it'. Cats give off very subtle signs, but this cat had ramped it up just a little as the dog wasn't getting the message at the start.

The dog knew the cat's intentions from the start and was also being friendly. Notice how the dog sneezes between barks/growls; that is something dogs do to indicate that they are/want to play fight and are not being aggressive for real. It was just a matter of two species trying to communicate in their own mutually-unintelligible "language".
