Exiled Chinese Billionaire Uses YouTube To Wage A War On Corruption

2017 ж. 14 Қар.
4 040 576 Рет қаралды

Guo Wengui sits in self-imposed exile in a $68 million apartment overlooking Central Park.
The billionaire Chinese property tycoon has been waging a media war against his homeland’s government. Guo says he’s trying to stamp out corruption and graft, but China accuses him of the very same thing.
Since January, Guo has taken to KZhead and Twitter making corruption allegations against top Chinese officials. Some of them have been disproven, some can’t be proven, but some have turned out to be accurate. Guo cites the retirement of China’s anti-corruption czar, Wang Qishan, as his most recent victory. Guo alleged Wang and his family made millions in mysterious business dealings. Wang did not respond to the allegations and was never investigated nor charged.
China issued an arrest warrant for Guo but does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S., which has shown no interest in detaining him. Guo, for his part, is hoping the U.S. will grant him asylum and says he can be of use to the Trump Administration. The White House hasn’t commented on Guo’s case but his position as a dissident who may have access to insider information may make him a useful bargaining chip.

    • I agree. That last part was put in by people who don't know that the base cost of luxury apartments in NYC is just that: base, it does not include the special mansion taxes, closing costs, and upfront payments for various additional amenities like special private gym, pool, yact and car garage totally separate from those of the other tenants that is part of the luxury apartment but for which you must pay separate purchase price. This isn't a regular "luxury apartment" near Central Park its in a very specific area. The producers did not do their research (OR they purposely ignored it so they could put that little "zinger" in the end even thought its 'fake news'. VICE after all is no Trump supporter and this man is friendly with the administration).

With the illusion they just don't know they are lying. Guo is one example eventually the lies cannot be covered. Knowledgeable Chinese who understand the ground truth already know Gou is a scammer long time ago. Western journalists just need some fake materials(like slave labor, concentration camps) to prove their ideologies base fabrication and pretend they are reporting. it's very effective. The whole western population are brainwashed again and again. Iraq War , Lybia , Guo, all are from fake information. Now they naively believe China is a threat.

Vice exposed this man as an unapologetic liar and spreader of fake news as they even got him to admit @ 1:02 saying the idea of "fake news" is "really good". He lied repeatedly in this interview including even about what he paid for his apartment and Vice called him out on it. Vice also reported he was "close friends" with shady, corrupt Trump admin. officials like Steve Bannon and this was BEFORE Bannon was arrested too! This story was five years ago and just a few days ago Guo was finally arrested for securities and wire fraud (lying) and only now everyone else is finally talking about him! Vice called him out on it five years ago, WAY before anyone else was talking about him! Once again Vice is years ahead of the other mainstream media on their stories and as you said in your comment, as their old stories only make mainstream headlines years later they are even more poignant as they age.

It limited the abilities of the people due to the massively unbalance education and literacy rate of the time. The system was never upgraded only patched to adjust to certain issues of the era. And the Chinese government wasn't free of this bias either at its recreation in 1949 but does have more control over its private citizens within the borders. So both have pros and cons depending on what kind of lifestyle (entrepreneur, artist, psychologist, journalist, etc..) suits you.

  • people don't understand, in China/Russia government official taking money is called bribe, because their position is selected, not voted. In America, it's called DONATION, so it's legal, and function as the exact same way as bribe, but of course, they are the one making the laws and passing the bills, so everything is okay.
