100% wild and free ranging africa bow hunting! these Grant Gazelles were one tough animal to bow hunt. getting close was hard and challenging to say the least. Which is why i had to pull off a long range bow kill at 118 yards. I wish it was 20 yards, but thats not the way it went down. he died fast and only went 60 yards. Did I get lucky? well i guess i'll leave that up to you to decide! #bowhunting #bowandarrow #africahunting

Please explain the left front leg being a dark black colour? When the shot hit you can clearly see the 2 front legs are different colours?
What do you do with the meat? Do you get to bring it back home or does it get donated to the locals? If you do donate it and have to leave it there do you get to try it at least?
yep! most likely it gets donated to the locals and some one local also does the shoulder mount and most of the time you do get to try some

Right. Had the boys follow up and put it down with a rifle but left that out of the footage…
we genuinely thought it hit him in-between the spine from our angle, its hard to see that far. but we definitely hit him in the neck after walking up on him . killed him just as fast, So im super happy with the shot.

So much of me wants to like these guys, but seeing questionable shots in multiple videos, it gets harder and harder. I will keep trying, just in case. Really hoping more ethical kills will prevail over KZhead views. Like I said, I really want to be fans. Fingers crossed and hopeful.

Dang. Not sure what to say about that. Fred Bear and Howard Hill did similar things and they are legends. I shoot a recurve so I don't have anything to compare to, but congrats on a beautiful animal.

Its one of those John F Kennedy arrows. Comes in straight down then turns 45 degrees to magically catch both lungs!
its official all ethics for bowhunting are dead in Josh's eyes. Every no shot indicator was there, extreme range check, nervous animal check, moving animal check, horrible shot angle check. Absolutely disgusting and I believe the PH agrees by the look on his face. I am so disappointed in what bowhunting has become. Please any new bowhunters on here understand that this is not how it should been done.

As a fellow hunter it's sad to see all these negative comments by other hunter. Josh has practiced and MADE shots like this before on animals. If he's comfortable with the shot then that's all that matters. Best outdoor content hands down is made by the Bowmars. Keep it up and God bless you both.

To get a through and through with an arrow do you want heavy or light arrows?
It’s about velocity, depends on what draw weight and length you are shooting. For example I shoot 72 lbs at 28.5 inches with a 412 grain arrow and I just recently got full pass through on a mule deer at 76 yards and the arrow was a good 30 yards on the other side.

I agree but I shot at it at 40 and it dropped a little low and went in between it’s legs but it looked like it hit it so I shot again when they stopped but I found out that the first arrow didn’t hit it but still an 80 yard shot of a turkey that drops it in it’s tracks

Well done Josh, pity you couldn't have shot a target on social media. While l live in Australia fighting in courts to be able to keep bowhunting here. We have heaps of IDIOTS doing the wrong thing here now all you here about is these IDIOTS taking long shots WOUNDING heaps of animals.. Yes the technology is in a bow to do so but takes a lot of training to do , like the Olympians but their is still a handful that can win gold out of the world population. All these long shot videos. It's not impressive or cool. It is egotistical, pathetic, and straight up unethical. Oh and your complaining about the Lacey Act is so so wrong. Any conservationist worth their salt knows the Lacey Act is one of the main reasons we have stuff to hunt. Do some introspection about what you're doing taking these absolutely ridiculous shots and fighting the Lacey Act to deflect from your actions.

"If it was up to me I'd shoot them at 20 every time" It is up to you! Nobody forced you to take that shot but yourself. You're hunting with a bow, accept the limitations you've placed on yourself or pick up a rifle. This video is a black eye to all the ethical bowhunters out there

What a shot even though alot of people dont agree with it i truly believe you have time and effort in everything you do to make that shot possible and you are confident in your ability so thats all that matters.
Nobody says he can’t ten ring a 115 yard shot every time but that doesn’t mean you should take it on an animal especially at that angle. The arrows in the air to long and that’s a marginal shot. Glad it worked out in what I’m assuming is a fast ethical kill. That’s why he will get hate for it in my opinion

It was a horrible shot. Bow hunters who are "masters of their craft" don't shoot a moving animal facing away at 118 yards.

I've been an archery hunter for better part of 30 years. I shoot the best equipment I can afford, which there isn't much out of my financial wheel house. I practice everyday. I practice long shots during my practice sequence; not because I take those shots in a hunting situation, but rather to make the closer shots even easier and to stretch my capabilities. Now with that said, I shoot 73.9 pounds, 622 grain arrow, fix blade broadheads. My equipment is tuned perfectly. Here are some things to consider why you DONT take this shot. 1. the length of time it takes for an arrow to reach its target. 2. animals move! targets dont - in this situation there is WAY too much movement! 3. this animal was not broad side providing any vitals; regardless of arch of the arrow - you could've easily shot this animal in the butt. 4. Penetration of the arrow at this distance. 5. and, there are about 15 more things that need to be considered. I can make a shot at 118 no problem, but that is not a reason you take this shot; jus' because you can --- you have to step back and, consider the animal and, the luck involved in any archery shot, even when you practice every day! Josh, I dig your content and you are an accomplished bow hunter and archer, but brotha, this is not the right shot under any condition .... there are rifle hunters that would NOT have taken this shot with the animal walking away, showing nothing, but his rear end!

@@CoachGoodwin23 nature is cruel. Watch some African safari videos. Did it result in a recovery of an animal? Yes. Did he feel like that's the best shot possible based on the circumstances? Yes. Other than that it doesn't matter. We hunt for ourselves. Not for if you approve. If hunter were less quick to throw judgment on others and criticize there own, then maybe we wouldn't be losing the number of hunters every year and wouldn't be losing our rights and privilege throughout. So in conclusion, noone needs your damn novel listing out all the reasons you shouldn't take this shot. If you don't feel comfortable with the shot, don't take it. If you do, go ahead. Other than that... like your Mamma said, if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

Man another awesome hunt and shot. You have to practice practice practice to make shots like that. Anytime you take a shot like that there are so many things that can go wrong but if it goes right and you confident in your skills world record down. Neck shot or not that was an amazing shot with a bow congratulations.
