No joke, I said the exact same thing to my father 4 days ago, aka when you wrote this comment, while we were eating sushi for dinner when explaining what this movie is, what are the chances man.
For those who don’t know, there is talk of a sequel where the protagonist does the opposite of what happens in this movie, and instead tries to go down the list to find IT’s origin.
That’d so coooool
It’s Gene Simmons
This film does not need a sequel...it DESERVES one.
That makes no sense because they would have to be cursed by it to see it so it would eventually be after them…
Meh I like not knowing what it is. Makes it scarier.
I have to appreciate how the tall guy coming down the hallway and stuff has this cool electronic music instead of the typical jump scare violin thing. It actually makes it way scarier
real
What scares me and a lot of other people is how calmly it walks. It walks like it knows its going to kill you, it just knows it is a matter of time. Also the tall dude walked pretty faster than usual so that was scary
I mean he walk faster, because he's tall. Each person's hight does have effect on how people walk, we are just used to it without noticing it.
its schlatt
It reminded me a lot of the Veil monster in the Doctor Who episode "Heaven Sent." Which probably took some notes from this film. "As you come into this world, something else is also born. You begin your life, and it begins a journey towards you. It moves slowly, but it never stops. Wherever you go, whatever path you take, it will follow - never faster, never slower, always coming. You will run, it will walk. You will rest, it will not. One day, you will linger in the same place too long - you will sit too still, or sleep too deep. And when, too late, you rise to go, you will notice a second shadow next to yours. Your life will then be over."

The giant man walking into the bedroom was so incredibly well done, I thought that it had to be CG. Never would I have imagined that it was an actual 7’ guy following them into the room. I also like how you pointed out the tech from different generations...I hadn’t even noticed the newer car at the end, nor the dressing for different seasons. I originally thought that her clam shell device was a contraceptive pill case with smart tech installed in it, which was really clever to me. I’m with you, James, in that this wacky, quirky kind of stuff always makes for an interesting cinematic world.

I think what I love about this is that it's what I call a 'safe' movie. Like it feels lonely but theres still people with you; you arent safe but you arent in danger. It's kinda weird to explain but think coraline, and for some reason it makes me feel cozy
Righttttt
@@peppino3609 I know its kinda weird to put into words
I agree that this movie makes me feel cozy even though it's horror! For me it's because the teens are so ride or die for each other, they're friends and they're in it together and they don't abandon her to deal with her fate alone. For me it's a movie about loving friendships, on a weird level
@riseagainphoenix thank you! You've perfectly articulated it. That's what I was trying to think of, it's that rather than 'everyone for themselves' they care about one another.

I personally think the movie is about recovering from trauma, and the pool is a symbol of freedom and control. That's why the pool continues to degrade over the course of the movie, and why the climax, where she regains control, takes place in a pool.
I still remember watching it with friends and that panning shot at the school happened. I immediately freaked out cause I saw it but my friends missed it the first time. The monster just casually strolling up behind the character in the hall, is honestly a great "jumpscare" You have the tension of the girl coming to check on em, then have the monster tower into frame from the shadows and the music ques in, instead of an out of place stinger noise
This was such a good movie! The soundtrack was one of the reasons why I loved it so much as well as the quite unique concept and how eerie it was. The old woman slowly following her at school was SO creepy as well as that jump scare in her bedroom with that giant older man that walks through her doorframe in the bedroom. So awesome!!! I also liked how obscure the “creature” was and we never really got any backstory or information about it. Part of me would love to see a prequel, but I also love that it was just one film that unexpectedly became successful even though the premise is absolutely ridiculous.
there is talk about a second movie where the Protagonist is going down the list to find the person that started it all

The thing I love about this movie so much, besides the unique score, was how clever the rules were. You had your eyes peeled in every scene, because any person walking steadily towards the camera could be It, or just an extra, and there is absolutely no way to know for certain
I loved the ending when Chelsea was following him to the kill count.
What I love about this movie is that the 'monster' is clearly supernatural, but still has to abide to many as the same laws of physics as the human characters. It can't just phase through a wall so it has to break the window with a brick. Also refreshing to see teenagers in a horror movie who don't act like complete lunatics and who actually make smart decisions.
James said on the video he didn't like the pool scene where the characters attempt to electrocute the STDemon. I think it's a perfect way to showcase the naiveté of the young characters. It's a dumb plan from the viewer's POV, but the characters are essentially children and children are dumb like that. In a classic horror movie, this plan would've been the climatic victory against the bad guy, but in this movie, it's pointless, the STDemon is still haunting them.

@@taylorrichards5133 The Difference Between Capacity and Speed You can measure RAM capacity in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), or terabytes (TB). Increasing the size of your RAM reduces the likelihood of needing to use your hard drive for these temporary files. But once you have enough to meet your needs, you reach a point where adding more may not be the best way to get the speed improvements you’re looking for. You may benefit more from buying RAM that’s faster than the RAM you already have, even if it’s the same amount. Is Your Virtual Memory Too Low? Here's How to Fix It! Is Your Virtual Memory Too Low? Here's How to Fix It! Computer memory issues can slow down your computer over time. Here's how to set the virtual memory size and boost performance. READ MORE There are a couple of metrics that determine your RAM’s speed. Frequency affects maximum bandwidth, which is how much data can travel to and from your memory stick at a time. Latency affects how quickly RAM can respond to a request. Frequency is measured in megahertz (MHz) and you want a bigger number. Latency appears as a series of numbers (such as 5-5-5-12) and you want these to be lower. Once your capacity needs are met, increasing frequency and reducing latency may yield you a more noticeable result than packing in more RAM. As for how much of a difference you will notice, well, that depends. How Much (Or How Fast) RAM Do You Need? Having buckets of RAM is useful if you’re into professional video or audio editing. Yet even then, 8-16 GB of RAM should be enough to handle running several professional applications simultaneously. You likely won’t need to think about upgrading for several years, if that. If you’re a gamer, you may get some benefits from having 16 GB, but 8 GB can handle most games. Making the leap up to 32 GB is currently unnecessary. At that point, you may be better of getting faster sticks. Regardless of how you use your PC, speed won’t matter if your motherboard isn’t as fast as your RAM. A 1333 MHz motherboard will limit your 2000 MHz RAM to 1333 MHz. There are situations where more RAM is needed, but you’re more likely to encounter them if you manage servers. The demands of running applications, games, and websites simply aren’t that high to warrant packing your desktop with all the RAM you can muster.

I think It is still very much following them at the end because I noticed that the color red is often seen in one form or another when It shows up throughout the movie. Like the dad of the girl at the very beginning wearing red, the lady they're talking to at the school wearing red when we see the girl walking outside that none of the characters notice, the red coat hanging in that shed they hide in at the beach, I could go on. The guy in his yard at the very end when they're walking on the sidewalk is also wearing red, so I'm going to assume the person far behind them is It still trying to get them. This could be a big coincidence but I learned in a film class I took that every detail you see in a movie scene is usually put there on purpose.

14:38 I have a theory why the thing was on the roof. Since they were locked in their house (and have propably barricaded the windows) the thing climbed all the way up the roof to try and circle around and enter through to second floor window. This IMO adds to the creepiness of the shot since if one doesnt understand why its on the roof, they get confused rather than scared. Oh goodness. . .GEORGIE N O-
I got to the point in this video where you started with the movie itself, Annie running out of her house in a panic and rented the movie on Amazon video and I loved it! So tense!
I like how it wanted to give them hope and relief by falling when she shot it just to tear it away by getting up and being fine the next shots
Moral of the story: Stay a virgin.

this was the origin of the “snail that always follows you” what-if scenario
One of my favorite horror movies. The soundtrack to this movie is amazing. I have it on blue vinyl for the nostalgic trip.
James has to blur out a bra but can put in someone's face getting chopped off Way to go KZhead
KZhead sucks, let’s just start showing daily motion some love
@@Brando216 dude, you trying to put James Janisse and me out of a job? This is why we can't have nice things.
You have no idea how MANY JAPANESE SOFTCORE here in YT search. No BRA.
@@triratna1397 oh wow! Wtf! I bet those channels aren't monetized though. It doesn't make sense, but if I had to guess I'd say that's why they don't give a shit about those channels.
society loves violence and watch people be blugend but soon as they see something normal like tits society acts likes its the devils magic

i came here 'cause there's finally a sequel for this masterpiece
Great video, this is such a good movie. For April Fool's Day, have you considered doing a movie with 0 kills and not addressing it at all? That'd be pretty funny.
Kohaku’s KZhead Hole those things are full of kills
@@Kohaku233 Finding Nemo, hundreds of children die before the title Card
He did Infinity War once for April Fools,
Hannah Holland He didn't actually cover the movie genius.
Matthew Cooper that’s the joke
“Farts are always funny” *CinemaSins wants to know your location.*
No
Y O yes
Idc he did nothing wrong, Louis CK said it best. Farts are always funny
People still watch that?
Jaxson Golembeski underrated comment
Love how unique this horror movie was. I like it when these types of films not catch the audience in surprise with jumpscares. No loud violin fret to startle the viewer, just electronic music which turns up the terror to an 11. SMT3 Nocturne for example uses Electro/Industrial synths in the third Kalpa when encountering Raidou or Dante but sped up so it could encourage dread onto the player. Both are very alike in tone, but that's the fun of horror done correctly; more of these films should do the same as It Follows, and not rely solely on generic jumpscares.
