Yesterday I got my S23 and it blew me away. I've been using iPhone for 7 years (currently iPhone 13) and I regret that didn't switch to android before.
congrats, it's a great phone.
Damn no more iMessage or good encryption
A lot of people come to this realization. The Apple brainwashing runs deep lol
I work in IT and simply have to have a phone that doesn’t glitch out or shut down randomly as well as a phone that is secure. I can’t afford to have the moments: Oh, just another glitch or bug I guess I can’t use my Samsung right now. Apple is superior for reliability sakes alone.
@@user-ym1oi5wg6b I've had issues with Apple, but I will say that Apple will have much fewer bugs than Android. Android hardly has any significant bugs though.
S24 Looks good and a little bigger, but if you have S23 already, it doesn't worth the upgrade, it only has AI software that the previous phone shall have soon if there's an update.
I bought S23+ at a discount. It's the best Android phone I have used in YEARS
How much did you pay?
Such honest reviews are rare these days
I'm out from iPhone after years. Bought S23 last week and it's like using something completely modern. iOS is stopped in time for, at least, 8 years or more...I don't trust Exynos, so that's why I chose S23, ana because I like smaller devices.
Im about to do the same thing
Thanks Dayo! The comparison I was waiting for. Go 💯K
finaly a honest, down to earth, no bs review. ! subbed.
Great review. Wise and objective on your opinions regarding the marketing of the 7yrs of software and security updates. Thank you for that.
5:03 Pleasantly surprised to hear Amharic in the background. Definitely getting the cheaper S23. It's pretty much the same phone.
Thanks for this, trying to decide which one I should upgrade to from my Galaxy S7!
Just set up my S24 (moving from a Z Flip 5) Loving the compact(ish) design and even on the Exynos chip, seems fast as the Flip 5. So far so good. The AI bit...I've not really noticed anything obvious yet, though I'm sure it'll become aparent!

If you live in Europe you must get the S23 because S24 uses Shitxynos this year and you will be scammed
Completely agree, S23 is a fucking beast compared to that s24 fire hazard, especially in the summer, ESPECIALLY, like think about your battery and heat damaging it constantly
Same on my region Malaysia and currently im using the S21FE with exynos thoo. And i want to switch from 21FE to S23 regular model. Will be a good switch?
The S24 is currently around £440 in the Uk. An absolute steal from what the price was last year 👍
@@kerkiraz its garbage, the exynos processor its like on the s22 from last 2 years. Garbage
@kerkiraz Used maybe....
Regarding the OS support - I'm upgrading (today, no less) from a Galaxy Note9 512G to a S24 Ultra 1T. The only two reasons are: The OS isn't being updated anymore - and - I can't get the ClearView cover anymore - and it's the only cover I'm willing to use. So, wuth the S24, lesson learnt - An extra cover was purchased and I look forward to the next upgrade in about 10 years.
Great honest review. Keep it up!
Good vid and honest review👌🏻 Little question, what wallpaper is the one that you are using on the tv behind you?
Most likely it comes from Wallpaper Engine, but I can't find it in the catalogue.
Thanks for your honesty sir. Looks like I'll be getting the s23
Im happy they've near-perfected the iPhone design mentality. a flat, clean, and premium looking design without any additional design added. I've been using an iPhone for a long while but I always loved the better battery and open installation of Android. So I've been waiting for years for a company to create a middle ground for this. Will definitely pick it up in the future. Good review as well, I like that you were being honest and compare them in a realistic situation instead of shilling it for the sake of the hype.
I dont know if samsung wants this but its always so many small changes that are super important to me that i might want to buy the newer phone but then there are some things i love about the older phone. Its so incredibly hard to decide for me because i dont want to waste money

Does the s23 and s24 still have the camera blurr issues?
I like the higher flashlight on the s23 more for whatever reason
Thank you!! 😊
thank you so much! you helped me a lot and i finally found someone who is honest and has good, quality content :)
Still if you compare s24 exynos to US s24 snapdragon, the snapdragon one wins with stability and battery life. Exynos has higher power consumption, its hotter, when heat hits camera has problem to record in 4k (camera error) and it somehow loses signal way more than snapdragon.
Great video idea for those of us considering smaller and/or entry level Android flagships. I was curious about these differences too. But weren't some AI capabilities supposed to trickle down to the S23 series in the future though?
They are rumoured to be coming to the S23 series. Whether that is all of them or merely selected ones who knows?.
Thank you for your honesty.😊
great review
I don't think it is worth paying 300€ more for the s24, especially the exynos variant
Doctors are idiots too stop having blind faith in them
So I'll have to visit him :) First of all, I'd rather buy the s24 just because the setting in vivid mode is no longer oversaturated and it doesn't hurt my eyes like with the s23. Finally, nice natural and nicely saturated colors. And the thinner frames on the s24 are simply beautiful to look at
I’m just glad Galaxy AI is being released for last year’s phones.
If cringe is a person
I got the a24 ultra for 600 bucks. Do I still need to see a doctor?
Great video, Dayo! Hoping to see a similar video with the Ultras.
I bought my galaxy s23 phone in April last year and I will probably use it for two more years. Thank you.
Is it wroth?
@@mrpizza2641It is worth it. I switched to S24 after Samsung offered me a very attractive exchange offer :)
I love my s23 and the build differences don't really matter to me because I always have a case on my phones, I believe most of the features that the s24 has are coming to the s23 with the new one ui 6.1 near the end of march or early April.
S23 is amazing just upgrade from blue view 3 Def better no need for the s24 same thing as s23 love my s23!!!!!! Love my galaxy and Def better screen then the blue view 3 tracphone!!!!!

I've been using the S20 FE for 3 years now and I want to upgrade to one of these phones. Is it worth the upgrade and if so, which phone should I get?
s23 is my favorite of the 3
Here from my s7 still working like it used to when i bought it. Never repaired. Battery lasts for the day. So im definitely going for the s24. I like keeping a phone for long as possible as you can see 😂
The best phone I have ever had…3 years user!!!
@@jimkobolitis the s23 ?
@clarapimontnogues3156 no the S7, which for me was Samsung's best phone ever produced. I wish my S23 Ultra that I bought, would keep up too!
can anyone explain to me what do the shrugs at the end mean?
Qualcomm Snapdragon not here in the UK .. so for that reason I'd stick to the S23 .. even though Samsung said battery don't last as long with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor 🤔🤔 ...
I appreciate your honest review. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Hahahah such a nice and clear video, no sponsor but u gained a subscribe from me and going to watch your next content. Good luck
Don’t jinx it, sponsors incoming 😉
Always awesome to get a new video that Nobody sponsored! Dayo is the best on KZhead - why does Nobody not understand that ?!
I wish if you could compare the S24 exynos with the snapdragon version to see if I can go for the S24 or stick with my iPhone 14
S24 SD gave 17% more battery life than S24 E in one of the videos on YT. Performance wise, SD is stable, but I have S24 E (Germany) and the feel is better than any phone I have ever used.
I bought an S23 today on eBay for $395 total (including taxes). Seems like a good value!
New or refurbished??
@@Deepubayernmunich Used (excellent condition)
That’s an extremely good deal.
@@DayoAworunse thanks. It took a decent amount of time to find the right listing though. I bought a Galaxy 10E about 5 years ago on eBay for $350 and I'm still using it so I decided to do the same thing and upgrade to the S23! Great video by the way. I like your honest approach. I subbed ☺️
@@BestStockStrategywhat do you think of the s23 so far? I too have a s10e which is still a great phone But not sure if I should upgrade to s23 or s24
Hey, so i can get the s23(256gb) and the s24 exynos (256gb) for the exact some price. What is the better choice?
exact same price.. S24 256GB by far display, gpu, updates, repairability most importantly the display with flat design and more nits and can go down to 1Hz I'd still recommend the Exynos even with a price difference of up to €120 you have the opportunity to get free upgrade literally the only problem with Exynos right now is overheating that being said.. in the past some of the problems with Exynos only started after a year or so but I think that is just anecdotal evidence and I don't think it will happen like that again
Hello Dayo, thank you very much for this review! I'm coming from samsung galaxy S10e so you can imagine that it will be a big upgrade for me but I'm still thinking should I buy the S23 that has everything under control with the uptades or should I go for the new one and waiting for the update to be in a better place?? Camera for me is a big one in the phone.I really like what they did on the outside with the titanium though.Thank u!
I would say is a solid move i replaced my old S10 for the S23 so far so good awesome battery life
@@mariomendez7727 Thank you very much for your opinion!
Good to see yours and the other gentlemen /gal whoever's, comment about going from S10E which is what I am doing . and I am now based on this review probably in the go 23 . thank you Dayo and thank you community.
While agree with eveything else ypu say on the topic, I feel like you are downplaying the software side. Going from a phone that has 3 years of os and 4 or of security to one with 7 is a huge deal. I agree that after a few years os upgrades aren't that huge. But for people who need an up to date phone for work and banking security is important. Also having a phone still supported is huge for resale value.
I have used a phone for maximum three years after that it started dropping network, no signal. Multiple reset and software flashing didn't resolved the issue. So 7yr of updates is gimmick if the hardware is not durable. Particularly heating exynos
@klystron4853, That's because you didn't buy a flagship. People are using the S10 and iPhone X to this day without problems, except for the battery draining quickly. I have an intermediary phone (a7 2018) working perfectly here as a backup. Used it for 2 weeks this year when my Flip 4 went to repair and everything worked as supposed.
@@galerinha This
@@galerinha this happened on my galaxy S9, so his argument is valid... the s24 ain't gonna' last 7 years
@ChrisCanadianHusky if my intermediary phone of 2018 is still working I bet this brand new flaship can last 7 years
I am looking for a new device because my beloved S20+ had fallen victim to the green line issue. I am really interested in these two phones, however I'm leaning more towards the S23 as it has the Snapdragon processor, which I read gets less hot and performs better in the long run. The 7 years of updates for the S24 also made me raise an eyebrow. I would think that with such a long period of updates, the phone would start to bog down around maybe 5 years in and at the 7th year of the updates, it'll be very slow, just like the iPhone 4 is with IOS 7 for exampe.
just what I've been thinking. Great video as always Day
Excellent review my man. I think I'm staying with the S23.
Great video. How often should a person upgrade there phoneto something newer?
3 years
There's no time span imo. Some people like to upgrade annually, some people like to upgrade if their device supports is ending, some people upgraded when they want to, some people upgraded if they have to. In my case, i upgrade if i want to, but typically at least 3 years or more, and i have to really like the design...but, that's kinda hard since compact phone is a myth at this point. I thought s24 is compact, but this thing is pretty huge for my baby hands.
When their old phone get battery problems, so 3-4 years of use
I have an old S9+ its about 4 - 5 years now, and really want to buy a new phone, am i doing a bad purchase if i buy the s23+ for example? I dont want the newest but I also getting second thougths of buying the S21 Ultra since the size of the screen is perfect in my hands
Would definitely pick up the S23+ over the S21 ultra
I was going to switch from iPhone 13 to S24 this year, but that Exynos 2400 in Europe pulls me back...I still can't convince myself it will last with some decent performance for more than a year.Any opinion on that matter? :D
I'm using the s24+ Exynos version. The battery life is long and very stable. You don't have to worry.
@@user-ce4ej6oj6q What about 4g/gsm performance? I had exynos wich modems were a way too hungry.... The phone couldnt last until 9h with 2 hrs sot (s20fe)
I recommend you waiting for the long term perofrmance reviews/tests but of what I've seen so far in the gaming comparations against the S24 Ultra is that both can achieve 60fps in genshin impact at max settings, still effic8ency is concerned, so wait for the long term reviews and then judge of its worth or not.
S24+ user here. Everything is going well with my device, performance, cameras, AI stuff, and battery. I think you should give it a try, and if you don't like it, return it.
Wait for 1 to 3 month review if you don't want to risk it. My s24 so far is amazing, but maybe that's because i upgraded from A50. My daily usecase is pretty light...whatsapp call, messaging apps, some youtube here and there, some news scrolling here and there and random gaming to do daily stuffs..tho i mostly use my office pc to chat, and playing games on my ipad mini (heavily) my phone daily screen time is around 3-4 hours only tho, and currently (7.48PM) still has 58% left since the las time i charged it (around 8.30AM). So far it's been amazing for me...although, i don't seem to get the high benchmark number as youtube reviewers achieved. but hey, that's not really important as long as it works smoothly.
But am I not correct in thinking that the s23 will receive the latest update soon, including A I
tf are you talking about? samsung has 4 years of one ui updates and 5 years of security updates. the s23 came out in you know 2023.
hello there can someone help me set up my camera and video settings s23 user here thanks
how does the S23FE compare to S23?
This is the best review i have seen till now. The summary at the end was superb. I only have one challenge, samsung offers now the latest smartwatch with a value of 400 euros for free with any S24. What should i do….?😊
Do you think that other phone companies will also offer 7 years of updates?
Nope , For Android phones 📱 looks like it will be Samsung & Google for now!!! 🎉
I thought it was a no brainer to get the 24 Ultra over the 23 Ultra because of the trade in deals. I got $450 for my Pixel 7 Pro. I could have gone the used route and get an s23 for somewhere in the $750 range but it was too close to a brand new phone for me
The S23 Ultra and the S24 Ultra have more differences than the S23/S23+ and the S24/S24+...
I will admit I do love how razor thin the bezels look on the S24, but apart from that and the 7 year software support (which is WAY longer than I keep a phone anyways), the S24 is a downgrade from my S23. Big skip for me
Amazing review. I will be getting the S23. I have been in a dilemma for quite a while now.
Did you get it, how’s the performance please, I’m thinking of getting one or the iPhone 13 pro not sure which to choose
I like your review and I'm ordering S23 right now
On the last part about best value samsung phone? i woud get the s23 because it's much more affordavble and there's no much diffference except the chip. Thanks for the honest review man.
Dang, that's a nice looking device. BTW, you've been to Baguio City? 😮
Yes I have
I have the option to buy samsung s23 256gb or s24 128gb in somewhat same price, in my country we get Exynos version. I come from huawei p30 PRO. I use the phone to watch you-tube, twitch, Instagram, discord, face-book. and read articles on it take few photos on it and videos. For videos I use Go Pro hero 10 mostly. What would be the best argument for upgrading from the s23 ultra the the s24 ultra?
Only a Flat display NOTHING More. S23 still has many many years of support no need to upgrade for 7 years when your phone still has plenty left once you do upgrade you'll have those 7 years to start at that point down the road.
Just CPU and flat display.
For me? 7y of upgrades. I almost went pixel this year because of it.
Tbh, almost no argument except bragging rights.I still don't get why non tech reviewers changes their phone annually if it's not broken or stolen. It's just not worth it. You can argue long years support, but these people would change their phone next year anyway...so why does that even matter. I decided to go s24 instead s23 from A50, and glad i did. S24 has way better deal during pre-order order period compared to s23 in my country.
@enesjei literally because when the s25 says I'll do 8 years of support are they gonna upgrade to that too? Like it makes no sense 😂😂
The Samsung website has the S23 around $300 cheaper than the S24. Thanks for this great review.

If you want a better battery experience you should consider a phone with at least 5000 mah, which none of those options will deliver. If I was you I would buy a s23+ s24+ or iphone 15 plus, depending on your regional prices. I got the s24+ for 700 usd last week.

3 of them has good battery life for "compact-but-not-really" phone. Buy whichever the best value for money in your region. But if you have OS preferences, you have to pick the one you want.
