    • I'm a USC fan and can respect Nebraska. Everyone talks about Bama and the SEC. Nebraska was constantly in the title picture from like 1985 to 1997. Colorado had some good years int he 90's, and OU was a bully in the 80's. That old south west was every bit as good as what ppl thought the SEC was.

      @Stopcommentingthesamecomments@Stopcommentingthesamecomments2 жыл бұрын
    • @@AlmostGangsta Nebraska had a Heisman trophy winner and went to a National Championship game after Osborne left. Then a couple seasons later Frank Zolich went 9-3 so they canned him, deciding that they needed to a pro-style offense in order to be competitive in big time college football. The rest is history and Nebraska hasn't been relevant since. None of the next 5 coaches even able to achieve a record as good as 9-3.

  • This makes me miss the football season and the NCAA football franchise from EA.

    @Goodman09@Goodman097 жыл бұрын
    • Goodman09 man what was the situation on that? I heard it was something about the players wanted to get paid for EA making players looking exactly like them

      @s1ms07@s1ms077 жыл бұрын
    • s1ms07 Yeah some former players sued EA for "Player likeness" and wanted tons of compensation money. I honestly thought they'd lose but somehow won and the NCAA also got in trouble so they forbid EA from using conferences and actual schools to avoid a similar situation. It's all shitty.

I grew up hearing stories of Bear Bryant, I was too young to grasp Gene Stallings winning in 92, but I've appreciated every moment of Nick Saban's unthinkable run. I know some day I'll be telling my little ones the lore of Saban like I was told about the Bear. Fans really need to sit back and cherish the greatness we're enjoying it's really unthinkable the sustained success he's achieved and brought back to Alabama, never forget the turmoil we endured between Gene and Nick. • After watching the Vince and Jamies comebacks, the 2017 #ClemsonTigers was the most emotional final game comeback. I know the basic stats rank the game 3rd behind Texas then FSU but there were so many other factors. Rematch, 4th down completion to a walk on in the final seconds, onside kick recovered, the MVP Watson taking the knee against the most hated repeat champs of all time. Epic and there will never be another game like it. Glad I was there in Tampa.

Had he stayed for another ten years who knows how many more NC’s the Huskers would have but Osborne surely would have accumulated 360+ wins in those 35 yrs. But Osborne kept the promise he made to Frank Solich and retired after playing for four NC’s in his last five years. Winning three. GBR!!!

    • Braden Pugel I just wish they were a legit conference championship contender. Ever since they left the big 12 they have never been a serious contender.

      @Tofuey@Tofuey7 жыл бұрын
    • As a Nebraska fan, I don't know whether I'd rather be a contender for the conference title only to piss it down our leg like we did several times in the Big 12 or continue to be meh but not be disappointed when things inevitably go south. The conference was Nebraska's for the taking in 2001 (the Colorado shellacking), 2006 (lost 21-7 in the B12 title game to a relatively weak Oklahoma team by OU standards), 2009 (if the Huskers had any semblance of an offense Texas would have lost), and 2010 (lost the B12 title to OU despite leading 17-0 in the first quarter). Hell, in our best opportunity to win the Big Ten in 2012 Bo and Co. managed to get throttled by a Wisconsin team that finished the regular season 7-5 overall, 4-4 in the Big Ten that was only there because Ohio State and Penn State were ineligible for postseason play. I want Nebraska to be great again, hell even pretty damn good would be fine with me, but I mainly just want to see a program that takes advantage of the opportunities to win championships of any sort, because that unfortunately hasn't been our program for the past decade and a half. Hopefully Riley and his staff can take us there - recruiting-wise we're on the right path, although if Vegas is any indication this upcoming season could be an adventurous one - but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    • Same, it ain't easy being a 18 year old Husker fan who never experienced the Glory Days, I wish to see the day when Nebraska wins again. After a long drought of shit seasons with Callafraud and Bo Bo the Clown Pelini. I think Riley is putting Nebraska in a way we haven't seen before with our new talented commits coming. And we have two Quarterbacks who can actually throw now with Tanner Lee and the up and coming Tristan Gebbia. We might see some serious shit in the next two years. I think a lot of people are underestimating Nebraska this season.

  • 2001 will never be forgotten in Norman but boy we have laid serious eggs. The USC loss pretty much killed our run although we resurfaced briefly in 09 but since then nothing. We've been better recently now that we have a motivated and not lazy coach. We'll have our day again soon

  • I remember the '92 championship game when BAMA beat Miami 34-13 and one sports writer from Arizona voted BAMA number one all season long from day 1, everyone was talking Miami all year, BAMA went undefeated and smacked Miami around basically no contest especially our defense dominated the entire game, how sweet it was ROLL TIDE ROLL, and may Kieth Jackson R.I.P.

I'm the casual college football fan and was tired of the sec streak. Yes the sec was very tough and good for about 8 to 10 years but for the last couple sec is down except for Alabama.
