Out of the literally 100s of videos, research and traps that I’ve done and watched, your video has given me so much hope,to the point where I have tears running down my face. I know I sound crazy, and maybe I am,but still I have a feeling your video is gonna change my life of terror I face every night and hopefully not need anymore rat experiments and save lots of money. I hate how it consumes my life. They are only outside. Two of my neighbors have ivy that grows along our shared fence where the rats live. Any way,I happen to have dry ice already so I can’t wait to try it. Thank u. You are an angel and i have a really good feeling. Thanx again.
Aww, you're so sweet! Has your rat situation gotten any better?
An equal amt.mof baking soda and peanut butter was found in a study to work best. Not poisonous to other animals as far as I know. I’ve not died it yet, I have lots of different bait.
This is a great video thank you 🙏🏽 Just want to add you seem very fun and interesting person. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and sharing your thoughts and knowledge.
Thank you!
My husband and I just moved to Texas... And we realized there are RATS in our yard. I learned another way to kill rats is baking soda mixed with flour, and also plaster of Paris mixed with flour.
Thanks for sharing that; I'll look into it since my rats ARE BACK now.... UGH!
Mix the powders and place it outside, then place a second container nearby with water so as soon as they drink it the powders start setting inside them
A KZheadr did a thorough study of which homemade mix works. The one you mention DID NOT WORK for him. What he said is the only one that worked was equal amts. of baking soda and peanut butter. FYI.
Thank you for sharing....u r so funny...I'm glad that u r still able 2 have a great sense of humor despite the problem 😀
Thanks! No option but to laugh, right?
Lol I like you! My husband & I saw 2 rats in our yard. So I found your video. Thank you for all the info. But we enjoyed this video😂
I too am in Columbus. Thanks for the informative video and your captivating manner of presenting. I hope you have been successful in your efforts.
Thank you! I was.... and now they're back 😞
I’m in Texas, the little monsters are everywhere! Very informative, TY. I’ve tried a few, will try more. I’m not willing to poison but everything else is on the table! Just spent $1500 to have our attic sealed and protected. Last year I took my shotgun to the chicken run. No chickens were inside. So frustrating! Many blessings and thank you for your time!
Love this! You are totally correct about the pellet gun with a scope!!!
Hi that’s great! I’m on the ocean and we recently went to war with rats . The houses are all packed in and they run the foundations and the git under our deck. Big Norway rats. I don’t mind poison but it doesn’t work anyway! Now I’m trapping and I was surprised you didn’t have any bucket traps to drown them. I’m building up to that. Also you are right about the boxes they won’t go in anything. They will take the baits from snap traps but we built boxes from another KZhead channel that’s supposed to get them in position. Open on one end. Bucket traps with walk the plank is next! I LOVE your gun don’t apologize to the snowflakes . Let them live with rats. If they get in the house, you have a real serious problem! Good luck great video.
Thank you! LOL - snowflakes! I tried the plank with no luck, but maybe you will. We made one and bought one. Rats can tread water for 3 hours, which is a problem......
Very informative, classy, smart and funny
Thank you!
Rats are known to move poison pellets (food) around, so they don't always eat it where they find it, and could leave leftovers in other areas accessible to other animals, spread the poison around.
Thanks! I'll give that a try!
You can easily super glue the pellet bag in the hard sturdy bait box. I use pellets in my garage and attic, and the critters don’t take the bag anywhere.
If you have a chicken coop you’ll always have a rat problem… you’re providing a constant food source.. I’m not surprised you’ve killed 55 of them and counting.. as long as they have that chicken feed they’ll never stop coming..
OMG!!! 😂😂😂👍 That was the funniest most informative Rat Video Ever!! I just found an INFESTATION last night under a wood pile….more than 8 and babies 😩😩 thank you
I've lived in this home for 27yrs and saw my first rat this morning. It scampered from our little garden/water feature to underneath our new shed. It's a big as a squirrel. Thanks for the ideas. I need to nip this in the bud before I have 15k.
How did it go? The same exact thing happened to me, I saw it and knew immediately that it was a rat. And when she mentioned the road project I was like "noo way they just re-paved the whole road next to my house". I need to deal with this asap because I have only seen 1 but I'm not sure how many there could be. They paved the road a few weeks ago.
@@juice6199 between me and my dog, we’ve killed 4 I think over the year. I use a large plastic deck storage box 6’x3’ with opening top and doors to store my trash until I can get to the transfer station. It’s on the side of the house. That was the food source. Now that has been remedied, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen one. Remove the food source and they may move on.
@@zipbiscuit just checked my trash bin, it's solid wood and has no holes or openings and it looks undisturbed. I've only seen the 1 rat so far, but we have no outdoor food or garden and the neighbour's have an outdoor cat so I think I'm alright
I’m glad yours is under control! Mine however, appear to be back 🤦🏼♀️
very informative Thank You
thank you!
I live in German Village area and just noticed one outside of my shed. When it saw me it ran right underneath. I’m freaking out!
I hope it stays at 1!
Thank you. I use Peppermint oil, flour sugar and baking soda. But my neighbor feeds the squirrels. Our neighborhood has the same problem, the city came along and fix the old sewer pipes now the problem is crazy. Again thank you. I am going to try the dry ice this week.
How has your rat problem been? Any better?
@@backyardcolumbus still have rats! I guess I’m gonna have to smoke them out, or smoke them in. I will get some smoke bombs look for their holes or burrows and kill them right in there. This I found on the Internet they are doing it in New York in Chicago which both have a serious rat problem.
I am frustrated with my rats messing with my chicken coop, I’ve killed 15 and keep thinking I’ve got them all, but, nope…I’ve raised more rats than chickens! but LOVED your video and your attitude. I’m from Ohio, but now I’m TN. By the way, I gave up on my plastic snap traps…it was effective but after a week that black one you used broke at the hinge and snapped on my finger. The hinge is cheap. Maybe I will try again. Also, rats wi t come out in light but, I don’t think they can see red light … so if your happy hunting, try setting up a red light
Sorry for a late reply; I’ll try the red light! We’ve been frustrated with the snap traps not lasting long, also. Yet another frustration!
Clintonville has lots of rats because of composting piles and bird feeders.
Please give us an update on I'm sure the dry ice smoke bombs was the most effective but on that Burt control juice and if possible, is there a label with ingredients on there because I don't think we need that fancy container they don't like that.
If you have that many rats in your yard, they are in your home (attic) too. No way they are just outside. They find any way to enter the attic.
We've been in the attic; none in the house.
Oh wow, great video. How is it going now? I really sympathise. So frustrating. I have seen a trap developed in New Zealand, good nature smart trap, that uses CO2 to drive a bolt to the head of the rat as it reaches for the bait. They are expensive but it might be worth checking their website. We have been thinking about getting one. We have used snap traps but they only seem to catch young inexperienced rats (still good). I get what you are saying about wanting a quick death for them as they are vertebrates like us and feel pain just like us. I like the idea of reproductive control or gassing whole burrows. I hope your city helps with a solution for you.
Hello! So, I haven't seen the actual rats lately, but the holes would indicate that they aren't any less present. You're absolutely right about the inexperienced ones; those are the ones we definitely catch the most of. I'll check out that NZ company; thanks for the info!
cool video thank you
PLEASE!!!!! I need your help -do I seal up the holes before or after the rats have “disappeared”? - in suburbia- major construction in neighborhood - I’m embarrassed to have them - good to hear others have them -you’re creeping me out
Imm so sorry for a late reply!! Did you get a handle on your rats?
Did you ever try the method that you get a bucket and it has like a plank that they fall in and can’t get out? Just wondering if you tried that method .I saw on another vid that they caught a lot of rats in a barn.
So, yes I did and I saw a video like that as well. Maybe they have dumber rats 🙂... That didn't work for me AT ALL. Rats can tread water for 3 hours (!) then they probably had their buddies come res cue them, lol...not lol....
I tried and got nothing. I got mice eventually with snap traps.
SouthSide of Columbus... Big issues...anywhere between Parsons and High Street
They are a big issue! Everywhere I look now - even around banks, they have rat bait boxes....
Baking soda and cake mix or jiffy mix in equal parts...
Thank you! I enjoyed your video! The birth control sounds promising! And the pellet gun!
Thanks! I'm getting ready to reorder birth control....apparently this is breeding season......
Oh.
meijer in Delaware sells dry ice
I have been catching them with a sparrow ground trap and drowning them. Disgusting.
.25 cal pellet fixes the problem right quick
Hahaha- FACT
Excellent video, how is your situation now, at this point what has worked best for you. I have seen somewhere on YT that borex detergent works . Would love an updated video great information. Thank you!
I'm getting ready to make one. SOOO, they've been gone for about 3/4 year...and now are back (!). Snap traps, pellet gun and birth control (maybe).
Were can I Pellet rifle

I swear my soulmate is my BESTFRIEND 😩💓
Informative.... but the volume!! Not good... and a White Board!?? Is it 1998? The Suggestions should be included in the video, and time stamped so people can easily go to the suggestion they would like to use.
Late in my response....I made this before my better videos came along; I'm planning on re-doing it and will absolutely do a time stamped video. Thanks for the suggestion :-)
