Fantastic video!!!! The footage, info and production of this was brilliant - keep doing this and you’ll absolute smash it!
Graeme, you're a class act. This means so much coming from someone on your level. Thanks a million mate. 🔥
Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. I went to Forbes sales yard in N.S.W. with my sons, in laws. There were 40,000 sheep selling. The inlaws were selling 240 lambs 120,100 and 20 runts. It was all done by an agent. The day of the sale we were told when the lambs would sell and what price to expect. They sold on time and for price predicted. About 40 or so trucks took the sheep away. The runts were sold later. They came off a paddock of around 380 acres which we looked at. The land had to be tilled because Berry weed had got a hold.this is toxic. The land had been sprayed something like Round up while the lambs were on it. We saw a large tractor J.D. which was direct drilling wheat on to the land. It could sow something 35 acres per hour. The farmer said the lambs would pay for putting in the crop and that he would not go near it till harvest that is if it rained, if it didn't total loss!
the effort it takes to keep 7-8bio. people fed and happy is just impossible to imagine.
The sheer scale of this is mind boggling! Wow!
Thanks for taking us along.
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
You're most welcome Patty, glad you enjoyed it
These are the reasons why Australia can competitively export agricultural produce to all over the world. Oh did I mention that we do it without subsidies like all northern hemisphere countries. We send our sheep to the Ballarat sale yards (CVLX) from 100 kms away. I can send in a handful on the trailer or send in a B double load and know I’ll be paid the next Friday. Great video.
yah you produce a lot of stock becauce you have a lot of land to keep them on we are smaller we keep less on our farm them we have compet with you send cheap rubbish over here pushing our farmers out of bissness
It might be cheaper than your sheep but definitely not rubbish. You should see the scale and through put in the abbs. It's called getting your shit together. Something that's not required when you subsidise you farmers.
@@johnholdstock8922sounds like you need to focus on customers willing to pay. Its no different here in Oz for farmer's doing things differently. I cannot compete on price with the supermarket. I need to brag about our quality / lifestyle of our pasture raised pigs compared to commercial piggeries locking them up in sheds.
Great video fascinating to see how they do it and a bit boggling! 😂
Great video Karl thats unreal how quick they sell that amount of sheep 💪👌
professional video and nice and clear to understand
Thank you!
Hi both thank you for your vlog, the amount of sheep is almost unbelievable, i can not understand how the the event runs so smoothly. 😮 very much appreciated as usual, big hugs to you both...Sue & Ben (Woodhall Spa) uk xx
I can't either guys! Thank you!
I loved it. Fantastic video. Thank for making it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video, well done
I’m glad that you worked it out in the end. There’s only one main lorry in Australia and it doesn’t have wheels. He teaches swimming. Laurie Lawrence. We call them trucks here!!!!!!!! Other than that a great video.
All these sheep are saying to each other, "I knew there was something fishy about all that free food and shelter . . . I should have run away when I had the chance . . . don't think we're going to survive the next ride". Cheers.
Lots of them are just going to another farm
😂😂
@@Bennie32831probably not being a general sales.
This was such a good video in lots of ways. The one I said to my wife was the production……very good. My 94yr old uncle,up to a couple of years ago, would often go to Ballarat to just see what’s going on and more importantly have a good ‘jaw wag’. Thank you. Loved the dogs.
Thank you Shane!
Sadly those days have all but gone in the UK. Very few livestock auction markets left. With this, the soul has left the agricultural workd and countryside.
Stunning over head video , how cool is that. We watched the North island shearing competition today at Kumeu Agri show, AK NZ . It's was fast in the opens division, the team event final was fun too. A shear of 3:5:4 to 3 Shearers per team. You would be welcome, they had a Welsh man step in competiting. Next time bro.
Glad you liked it William! Yes I'll have to get back to Nz to film at some stage.
I need to stock up on mint sauce 😋 Mouthwatering. No honestly that was one crazy market. Normal Australian dimensions I guess. Never seen anything like it in the UK or Europe.
Rosemary and Garlic is the best👌👌
It was a slow day for them, everything is so much bigger scale in Oz 😁
@@ewetube.videoseverything is bigger ...down under ;)
Australia go big or go home.....right? 😅 Just our sheer population and land size.
That's the most Kebabs I've seen in the one place at one time.
Great video, I’m Irish (Co.Mayo) in Melbourne and heading out there for a look tomorrow, pity I missed ye 🇨🇮
Great Chloe, how did you find it?
You'll need to come back for a bigger sale next year!
Will have to at some stage Tara. 🥰
Good stuff 👍
It makes sense how these countries can feed the world and sell so much cheaper it’s simply there scale!
Interesting 👍🏻
Love it guys
Thanks mate, great catching up the other day. 😁🔥
Wow I would really like to work in this company just to get knowledge of SHEEP it is my passion.
You should get on to them and ask for a job. 😁
please can you tell me how to get to them? @@ewetube.videos
بصراحه اهنيهم على الترتيب
Cool to see. Thanks for filming it. I'd be afraid of the bio-contamination risk with so many coming together from all over. Are they mostly off to be slaughtered?
Yeah they'll mostly be heading to abattoirs Eileen, although there was store lambs and thinner ewes there too which will go somewhere else for fattening
Yeap most are slaughtered. Those selling for breeding programs will go to more exclusive smaller events or sell directly from farm but still use a livestock agent
Hey you should get to a B&S ball there good crack
That market is huge 🐑
Is there any kind of online bidding or just in person only? It’s almost like a performance. 😳
just in person. At store sales a farmer might indicate to one of the stock agents he's willing to pay up to X dollars and the stock agent would bid his behalf but that would be arranged the week coming up to the sale. That doesn't happen very often.
There's often online bidding interfaced with store and stud sales, but not fat sales.
If there was online that day they weren't paying much attention to it! 😂 All in person I think.
Do you have an opinion on kelpies vs collies yet
Kelpies are great with big bunches of sheep, good at driving and they've serious endurance and heat resistance. Collies are better generally at going a distance for sheep from what I see. A kelpie would be a good addition to a team working big bunches of sheep.
👍👍👍.
When are you heading for home?
I'm home now a couple of days. 😁
Please PLEASE PLEASE you go visit Tara? I know she’s probably the other side of Aus, but I don’t care! 😂 she stopped recording the other day coz ye were going live! And you could give slug a hug from me!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
We met for dinner that evening Eithne bit I didn't get a chance to see her farm, I'll have to another time!
😳🤯😂🙆 how do you even know what you are buying. .
😅
Sometimes you don't. They go so fast you miss out on seeing the flaws. Or if you look away sometimes auctioneers will still act like your bidding when your not. That's how I ended up with 30 lawnmowers 😅
@@jmc8577 😂🤣🤣🤦
Goat is more profitable!
🤔عندهم حراج اصه اصه
Oi 👍👍💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯
We humans think it's achievement💪 but that sheep's thinks that we r getting free food and settled😮 but differently they use us how they want😢
High sheep numbers and the fast auctioneer means lower prices.
No the people bidding know that if you want to buy them nobody is going to wait around for you to play games. You want them you put your best price up or you miss out. The cost inefficiencies and waste of labour required to sell through a sale ring is mind blowing
@@JackJenki maybe but i don't buy sheep there i buy private. Not spending my money on a whim. I wouldn't be that unique.
What...no black sheep😢
They were there but they didn't make the video. 😁
Stock and station agents F'ing farmers over as well as everyone else!
Farmers can choose which one to go with 🤷♂️
@@ewetube.videos YEP! Farmers can choose between agents and choose to pay a particular whatever percentage of commission is set by the agents!
huge scale confusing for a novice
I found it confusing and I'm at sheep all my life 🤣🤣
Evil tbh.
Evil towards who? The farmer? The Sheep? 😂
