    • Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. I went to Forbes sales yard in N.S.W. with my sons, in laws. There were 40,000 sheep selling. The inlaws were selling 240 lambs 120,100 and 20 runts. It was all done by an agent. The day of the sale we were told when the lambs would sell and what price to expect. They sold on time and for price predicted. About 40 or so trucks took the sheep away. The runts were sold later. They came off a paddock of around 380 acres which we looked at. The land had to be tilled because Berry weed had got a hold.this is toxic. The land had been sprayed something like Round up while the lambs were on it. We saw a large tractor J.D. which was direct drilling wheat on to the land. It could sow something 35 acres per hour. The farmer said the lambs would pay for putting in the crop and that he would not go near it till harvest that is if it rained, if it didn't total loss!

  • These are the reasons why Australia can competitively export agricultural produce to all over the world. Oh did I mention that we do it without subsidies like all northern hemisphere countries. We send our sheep to the Ballarat sale yards (CVLX) from 100 kms away. I can send in a handful on the trailer or send in a B double load and know I’ll be paid the next Friday. Great video.

    • yah you produce a lot of stock becauce you have a lot of land to keep them on we are smaller we keep less on our farm them we have compet with you send cheap rubbish over here pushing our farmers out of bissness

      @johnholdstock8922@johnholdstock89222 ай бұрын
    • It might be cheaper than your sheep but definitely not rubbish. You should see the scale and through put in the abbs. It's called getting your shit together. Something that's not required when you subsidise you farmers.

    • @@johnholdstock8922sounds like you need to focus on customers willing to pay. Its no different here in Oz for farmer's doing things differently. I cannot compete on price with the supermarket. I need to brag about our quality / lifestyle of our pasture raised pigs compared to commercial piggeries locking them up in sheds.

It's was fast in the opens division, the team event final was fun too. A shear of 3:5:4 to 3 Shearers per team. You would be welcome, they had a Welsh man step in competiting. Next time bro.

    @claymonsterpottery@claymonsterpottery2 ай бұрын
    • just in person. At store sales a farmer might indicate to one of the stock agents he's willing to pay up to X dollars and the stock agent would bid his behalf but that would be arranged the week coming up to the sale. That doesn't happen very often.

    @tb57683@tb576832 ай бұрын
    • Kelpies are great with big bunches of sheep, good at driving and they've serious endurance and heat resistance. Collies are better generally at going a distance for sheep from what I see. A kelpie would be a good addition to a team working big bunches of sheep.
