Best tugboat tour on KZhead, thanks Dan.
Very informative... Looks like a very professional tug with everything in its place. Thanks for sharing and you do a great job of breaking it down for us laymen. Thanks again.
Great video, i've always wondered what the inside of one of these boats looks like. This brought it to life. Also very enjoyable for a Philly native like myself--nice views of the Girard Point Bridge and other sites. Thank you for posting this.
Good job. Very much enjoyed the presentation.
This was great Dan, thanks for the awesome, informative post, really enjoyed it!
Also, i never realized that the rear-facing wheelhouse had a full control station where you can steer and operate the throttles. I thought it was merely a place for a mate to sit and watch the tow. This is heaven for a boat nerd like myself. Thanks again and sorry for the repeat post.
Thanks @lenswork4! That was really well covered, informative and educational.
Excellent video presentation. Thank you for sharing.
Nice, thanks for posting this
Excellent video man! Keep it up! Cheers!
Great video Dan! In my local harbour we actually have a Tugboat called "Dan"
Looks like a Vane Brothers Tug, I recognize the colors on it. I use to work on Offshore Tugs years back similar to that but some were bigger.
Nice video!
Thank you for taking time take us around. Impressive.
Neat and precise, I like that Maybe next time while on duty, out of harbour ?
Many thanks for an impressive tour, a real eye opener. Dare we ask the price tag on such an elegant vessel?
Thanks for posting this interesting overview of Tug operations. You covered a lot in a short time. I'm curious about a few things: How many days is a typical 'shift' for a city tug crewperson, and how many crew typically on that type tug? Does one man/w do all kitchen duty and is s/he expected to do other duties too? Are hands employed by the tug company and stay with one boat, or do they come from a union and work different tugs at different times? Do you have HF radio capability, or is that only used on oceangoing tugs?
Vane brothers boat?
vane boat?
Very Spotless engine room :)
my dad haves that job!
Thats a big tug boat, I dont think the ones in the UK are like that
Great video Dan! In my local harbour we actually have a tugboat called "Dan"
