I'm the same mate - it's great beating bottom of the league, already relegated Sheffield United but we went out first round Champions League, looks like we might get Europa Conference at best this time and still no silver ware - absolutely fine being patient but it's a bit delusional thinking Howe's going to keep the squad fit long enough to compete for silverware - unless he changes. which he might tbf.
@eddouglas Not sure whether it’s Eddie’s tactics, training regime or just bad luck that we’ve suffered so many injuries this year as we were relatively injury free (other than Callum) for the first 18 months of his managerial reign. My friend is a Luton Town fanatic and they’ve really suffered with injuries this year too. They play high intensity but are used to playing 2 games per week in the efl but for some reason this year, despite playing less games have struggled. Maybe it’s what happens in between games rather than the tactics in the games that is causing our problems or maybe we’ve just been unlucky??
@@jimrockford1969 I feel like it might be a sell by date almost - look at Gordon, absolutely flying this season. If he's injured within 18 months it's the training regimen for me like. I think after 18 months it might be that all the running catches up with the players and they start getting injury prone. In a dietary sense it might be burning through all you bodies vitamin and mineral reserves, built up over a lifetime, and eventually spare protein / whatever cellular thing starts using the body parts themselves to fuel the movement. so they get weak, then injury. I'm 100% it's the training and the style of play, coupled with Howe's pretty strict first 11 getting played every week / twice a week. Bournemouth had the same problem eventually, and Wilson and Fraser are two players that Howe's style ended up making them injury prone imo. Not sure any players that know they're going to be best in the world will come here if they think they'll become injury prone. Hope he sorts it out - he sorted out the defense nae bother.
@@jimrockford1969 Gordon also said on that Overlap with Neville he's gone out of his way to not do all the training Howe demands as well. Something like that anyway.
@@eddouglas But, that’s why we need a bigger squad with quality players, easier said than done of course, but if you look at all the successful teams they can rotate and maintain a high level of football. We’re less than two years in with the new ownership, I think our only choice as fans is patience?

@@CabbageHeeedexactly this. He seems to be a very honest and genuine guy in interviews. I think he tells us how he feels with his celebrations. However if we don’t get champions league next season, then I’d begin to worry. Two seasons out won’t be good.
