Hi I'm Loui! I am an adventurer at heart who loves to share every step of the way. My travels so far ,via camper van, jeep camper, and foot, have taken me all over North America. I started this channel in 2019 in hopes of inspiring other people like me who didn't exactly grow up living an adventurous lifestyle and who might be afraid to get started on their own adventures. You two are like the toughest and most adventurous people I know and yet you're both hunkered down in town in a parking lot. Very smart move, given that so many people are stuck on I-80, etc. You both don't mess around with Mother Nature. Love that.

Just an fyi: If you are hunkered down in a parking lot that gets plowed, keep moving to the spots that are plowed, then they can remove the snow where you were.
2 days ago , highway 80 both directions were closed down ( roads ).
When two vagabonds with Alaskan and Canadian license plates say theyve never seen this much snow before, you know its a shit ton of snow lol Been a Foresty fan for years now. Glad to see yall together.

Great advice...backed up tail pipe builds fumes, pressure...can blow an expensive catalytic converter....

You know what brings so many back? That SMILE and NEVER complaining! And there's no such thing as too much bacon in a salad! Rice Wine vinegar is so much better than white vinegar as well! Simon was too busy gloming that salad down to even comment! LOL Can't blame him! Crumbled Feta cheese and a few sliced strawberries would add another dimension! Nothing like a big dinner of comfort food in a blizzard!

I wrote on Simon's page.. I worked at Cal Trans plowing the roads up there and worked for the railroad on that route too, the plow with the two locomotives were called Jordan Spreaders, I never got to work on those but enjoyed the job, well, the people anyway, some of the best guys and gals in the world.

What I found amazing was simply the snow totals. I'm in South Dakota and obviously very used to snow and bitter cold. But, this winter... my area has only received 11 INCHES of snow all winter ... Meanwhile, in the Sierra Nevada area, you all got like 7 feet or so in a day!

I find these blizzards and heavy snow conditions a great opportunity to spend in a cozy indoor space and be warm and at peace while the outside world is so unforgiving and chaotic.
New Englander here, we were in that storm on the way to Palisades, main road was closed so we had a 3 hour drive on alternate road. Then a semi flipped and we stood still for 3 hours in 100 mile an hour winds. Glad we had a full tank. We made it to our chalet at 6:30am, chilled for a while then went skiing. The rest of the week was a blast with an exciting experience behind up. On the way to the back airport 6 days later we toured Lake Tahoe, so beautiful.

(When you use your knife to slide your food off the cutting board, flip it over and use the spine instead of the blade. when I was a kid I would dig snow caves in those big piles of snow from the plowing. I miss being a kid in the WI winters.

Glad to see you and Foresty, William and Rocco. Hanging all together. I had a conversion Ford E150 and it was awesome!!! My dad built it to my moms specs so it had EVERYTHING!.... LOL And it had a coleman porta potty. Best toilet ever!!!! It never smelled bad. I used organic, environmentally safe chemical in it. When I dumped it I did it at dump stations for a quarter of the price!😁 I'm going to build me a new Ford E to retire and travel in. I'm gonna do what Simon did and put in a wood stove. A fridge and solar panels and go that way. Im 69. Don't know how long I've got so I'm gonna travel!!!!! I enjoy your channel. Im in the area and this storm has brought COLD and wind..tons of heavy duty winds❤
Me and my husband getting ready to retire within the year and we both want to do this too. We have family all over the US so it would be awesome for us to be able to travel n see everyone too.❤
11 pm down here in San Francisco, Sunday night, just had another little squall. Still coming your way! 50 years ago, I ski patrolled at (then) Squaw and Alpine, and put chains on when chains were chains, and had some hairy nights in a '64 Pontiac Bonneville with a trunk so big it fit our long, long skis. Enjoying vicariously your youthful indomitability!

Hehe I've never been in such winter conditions except for the year of 78 here in Indiana we did have several feet of snow but I that's not happened since. Our winters are pretty mild. We had maybe 2 snowfalls this winter and neither was over 5 to 6 inches. Anyway, have fun and be safe! Happy trails!

Last years' spring blizzard conditions were like what you have now. Keep a watch on the weather maps, they will give you clues to the safer routes to take. Remember the weather moves before the weather radar tracks it. Keep the shiny side up, and be safe. Greg 🇨🇦

you and Foresty have got to be the greatest hidden gems of youtube this is my favorite side of youtube.
We've had a mild Nov. thru Jan. snow fall and got hit in Feb. and now March by some major storms. A friend told me that this is a storm out of the Gulf of Alaska which is the norm. Up until now, most storms have not developed out of Alaska. And it looks like William 'Shakespear' appreciates hunkering down in his warm cozy home....take care !!

A spade might work a little better especially for packed snow. It's nice the plows get pretty close to the vehicles and angle the blade away from them. They seem very accommodating for people living in vehicles.

I kind of envy you two. I've traveled throughout the US and have been in some harrowing situation's. Blizzard's etc. I saw it as an adventure! May have been more dangerous at the time but didn't realize it. Nothing like a hot cup of coffee when snow ❄️🌨️ is swirling all around you!
