Modernised BTR-60 & BRDM-2 shooting

It is 'Muromteplovoz' corp. modernisations for old good soviet light armored vehicles, it includes the new turrets installation, new economicaly engine and armor upgrade. The new weapon kit includes high ballistic 30 mm GSh-30 autocannon with deadly armor-piercing APFSDS munition, or low recoil 23 mm autocannon. For indirrect fire the 30 mm automatic grenade launcher is still an unbeatable choice. Of course, the supplemented 7.62 mm PKT machinegun augments the picture.

  • Awesome. For some reason, I feel like I could watch armored vehicles drive around and shoot all day. You know how some people feel relaxed from looking at a waterfall or something? Armored vehicles have that effect on me.

  • For a APC, this upgrade will turn it into a mini-tank of sorts. While it doesn't have the thick armor or the big cannon of a tank, it's light weight, fast, and that 30mm cannon will hit hard, augmented by that 7.62mm PKM (mostly for Anti-personal and unarmored vehicles to save on 30mm ammo)

  • Because of the immense pressure and velocity, the skull would literally explode on impact. If it hits the body (upper torso in example), i believe everything would just be crushed and torn and maybe ripped out.

  • Infra-red needs an IR illuminator. Thermal imagers are more passive and doesn't give away the vehicle position. Either way, both would still be good on it. Thanks for the comment on this nice video. PeAcE oUt.

  • And actualy of cource ground pressure isn`t all for better offroad performance. Sadly but tracks can`t alter its rotation speed and power while for example MZKT-7922 can change it on every wheel as so as alter pressure in every single wheel as it is needed In addition to much larger clearance - it makes wheeled chassis MUCH better on soft soil with many hills and obstacles

  • BTR was infantry carrier which role was and is to cover infantry from firearms and shrapnel - and it is succesful in it`s role - plus configuration of bottom and wheels providing protection against mines more than some of MBTs dude - and BTR can move even without 2 wheels on each side. As so as is can swim at 10km/h while Stryker can`t at all. And upgraded with this turret it have firepower even greater that your precious Bradley

And sadly for M2 Bradley which IS IFV - those BTR-60 and 80 with new turret have A LOT more firepower that Bradley with it`s slow firing 25mm cannon. Russian IFV is BMP-3 - which have firepower comparable to modern MBTs, can swim and can be droped airborne with crews already inside. Also BMP-3 and BMD-4 carry 5 troopers

  • well the BTR was also made to be an amphibious vehicle, so i'd think they're want it too hold as many people as possible, it wasn't commonly used as that, but i know for a fact that there weren't alot of amphibious vehicles so you'd want to get as many in one as possible. Another reason, is that the BTR was created very soon after WW2, and even at post WW2, halftracks were still used, and the BTR's complete idea was off of them, and most Halftracks carry about 15 people. standardization i guess

Can imagine one of that CV90-40 with spike misseles on it, hollycow

  • @cuteshadowKIA BTR is an analogue of the M-113. He gives the M-113 capacity and security of the crew. However, superior to patency. Since it is easier to M-113. In the event of war with Russia M-113 would have just got stuck on Russian roads. And in the mountains of Afghanistan or Chechnya heavy M-113 would turn on the first corner. In addition, M-113 does not have the protection of radiation. It is unclear how the Americans planned to use it in case of nuclear war. Analog Stryker - BTR-90.
