I just swallowed a 20 min 110% technical review video from a guy I never seen before in the internet... and I liked it, new sub man, great content.
sex money alcohol
thats not all you are going to swallow
I enjoy his reviews more than I do on Steve's, only because he isn't a biased fanboy like the main guy.
Thanks you sealed my purchase, i was just looking for your review. ❤
Been waiting for this one. Thank you very much for the high quality review. Hardware Unboxed is to monitors like Gamers Nexus is to cases. Good stuff.
This monitor is a beast! Just released an unboxing on it. Your review was a little harsh IMO but you provide a lot of data to back it up. Thanks for the vid!
Like the Inverse Ghosting bit on the Gray to Gray chart. Thx for the review Tim.
Great video. That HDR compatible check list helps a lot.
when you say:"wow, what great colors that monitor displays!" while watching it on your own monitor.
Best comment, and rational!
Viewing this on my iPhone 11 Pro 🙈
@@dasitmaneayylmao2729 Watching this on 12ProMAX🙈
Never trust the view you get from your monitor watching another monitor ;)
@@asokanchammanur3463 watching this on 13Pro🙈🙈
Great review as always! A review of the Asus Strix XG279Q would be much appreciated.
Thanks Tim. I am still inclined to buy the LG monitor, in the near future. Greetings from Portugal. (P.S.: I hope you and your fellow countrymen are recovering well from the fires.)
Great work putting this together.
Thanks for the hard work mate :)
Thank you for tour response time testing analysis, noone else does it like you do and that's why i come to you with hard data...others just say yea overdrive looks good blah...i want real numbers!
Thanks for the review, you the man.
Nice review! Please can you review Lenovo Y27q-20? Got an exelllent one time deal for 380€ with taxes (normally here in finland 549€), so I made an order. Would be nice to know how it compares...
Honestly tired of these brands getting away with bs hdr implementations. Shits a scam and should be seen that way. Full hdr capabilities should be required to be able to put “hdr” on the box
look on the bright side at least this monitor is 10 bits while the majority of monitors in this price range are 8 bits

Thanks for the fantastic content :D. I was wondering if you were planning to review the older but widely available on sale / popular monitor Dell S2716dg ? Keep up the good work !
Congrats!!! Excelent video! Did you have any problems with death or bright pixels?
Great review! The technical stuff is fascinating, and confusing. At least I know how to configure it when I get it. I just bought the non hbr3 version. (Currently $459 US on Newegg)
Thank you very much for the review Tim. Hmm the LG is looking more tempting each day, But now I see ViewSonic has one on the way(ViewSonic Elite XG270QG) although it looks rather pricey also. The quest for a perfect monitor continues. ;)
Thank s a lot Great reviews
Very insightful reviews like no other. Can you do a review on the HP Omen 27I nano ips monitor?
Great review man in dept as usual. And for the love of god pls review aoc c24g1 tim 😭😭😭
Hey Tim, you do the best monitor reviews any chance of a review on the AOC AGON AG273QX? same specs but it's a flat VA I game in the dark quite a bit so I'm looking for a good VA. Thanks, Tom
When are you going to review the fi27q-x. Very excited to see its response times. Awesome channel and reviews 🔟
Nice vid. One question... should I run this monitor at 120hz 1440p then for the best response time or 165hz? Im a bit confused sorry.
I'd love to see an adaptive overdrive. Ties into freesync, changes the overdrive strength based on the current framerate
Exactly what I've been thinking. Just like the old variable valve timing on overhead cam engines. Takes a little bit more work for them to tune probably, but each panel respons roughly the same so it's not that bad once they set up a rig for automated tuning tests.
Thanks for the review! Aorus FI27Q-X review would be great ! Hope you guys review that one too. Thanks guys!
Tim what is your opinion on Dell S3220Dgf? I found it on sale at Microcenter for 277$.Is this a good price/performance or i should not even bother with a VA panel? Thanks for all the monitors videos. Your analysis is really good.
The key here is the contrast ratio. You get an above average contrast for an IPS and decent uniformity unlike the 27GL850 which usually (mileage vary per unit) has very poor blacks due to its sub-par contrast. Ratios of 800:1 vs 1100:1 make a huge difference. This is why this monitor costs so much because if you want a decent contrast on a NON-curved 27" QHD 144+ Hz wide gamut panel your options are basically only this... and maybe 1-2 other monitors.
thx helped me alot
Have you thought of reviewing older gaming monitors? I've been curious how well the first 120Hz monitors (like for example my BenQ XL2410T) would perform against these current generation gaming monitors in these performance metrics?
We want more 24 inch 1080p IPS 144hz reviews! AOC, ASUS, MSI, VIEWSONIC and ACER have ALL 24inch 1080p IPS 144hz monitors! Review this sweetspots!!!!
Can you tell me what you think of the Samsung 27" CJG56? I'm currently conflicted between this and the AOC CQ27G1. I'm thinking that they may also have the same panel as the AOC CQ27G1 uses a curved Samsung VA panel. Thank you for your informative videos!
Can you advise when you may have a review for cooler masters new monitors they showed at CES?
I want to see you guys review the Dell S3220DGF if possible!
@Hardware Unboxed, for racing games ( F1 2020, assetto corsa..) and time to time battlefield and watching movies, should I buy this monitor or Samsung odyssey G7(27")? better response time, input lag. For now I have a GTX 1080 but I will upgrade to a rtx 3080 or new amd graphics card. Thank you
Great video. Will you guys review the Samsung Odyssey G7 + G9 in the future?
Great review, but can you review a few of the newer monitors that are bigger ttan 27"
Thanks Jim
These monitor reviews are getting really good. Did you ever do a review of any monitor using the same panel as Acer XB271HU IPS?
I have it!
Hi Tim, any chance you could try the FI27Q non-P too? It's priced quite a bit lower than the non P here
Great video, thanks! One for the Q&A: Is there actually any benefit to using something like freesync over just keeping the refresh rate at the monitor's max and turning off vsync? At speeds over 100 FPS I don't notice any tearing.
Did they answer the question ever?
Nope
Will you be reviewing the Acer CG437K?? Very excited about this monitor.
You do great monitor reviews. As a long time fan, I would like to see you review Samsung monitors!!!
Have you done the viotek 27 inch with the va panel? I see the tn one on all your charts but not the new va one.
can you guys please do a review on the cooler masters mechanical chiclet keyboard , which is named SK651 as i have never seen one reviewed before , only the SK650 which was last years model , would love to see you also review the other 2 as well and thanks!
was confused by the overdrive settings and how you'd have to see what works, would you have to adjust it for each input?
Hey I know this is an unrelated question but what processor would you say is the max for an asus rog strix b350-f gaming motherboard?
THANK YOU SO MUCH, for the UFO TEST picture. Please put that on all the Monitors Review.
Will you review the BenQ EX2780Q? I haven't seen an in-depth review from YT yet.
+1
+1 !!
For anyone interested: Currently watching this review on the BenQ... Why? Well, the feature set is nice on the BenQ but there is a reason why I have 2 on my desk at the moment. I ordered an exchange, because the picture is warmer in the lower half, which can be noticed on white backgrounds (like the youtube comment section). Exchange has the same problem. Colors are nice, but both have a little bit of light bleed (as expected from IPS - I could live with how much light bleed they have) The reason why I will return both of them though, is the built in speaker /subwoofer combo. Honestly it sounds good BUT there is a rattling sound in certain frequencies (Volume doesn't matter) which is really annoying. It is even worse on the exchange. So I will go with the Gigabyte now - slightly more expensive and a gamer design which I don't like that much (love the BenQ design) but the ergonomics are greater and if you through in things like official GSync supp etc. I think it is the better choice. If anyone is interested -> there you go ;)
@@maxdoe6534 And how is your opinion on the Gigabyte? With both having the same panel, are your seeing any differences between the colors and blacks? Are they equivalent sharp?
@@maxdoe6534 you actually use the built in speakers lol?
16:15, months after the review, single sentence might make me not buy the LG, and go for the FI27Q-P. Thanks for being so thorough!
How does this monitor hold up today? I’m tossing up between this and the LG 27850 from your previous video
How does this monitor compare to the Asus XG279Q?
Would appreciate it if you could review the MSI Optix MAG272QR, if it's a (more) budget alternative to the lg27gl850
Could you guys please review the ViewSonic ELITE XG270QG 1440p 144hz/165hz oc, I am curious how the IPS nano display with Gsync would compare to the rest ?
any chance of reviewing the FI27Q (non P) model ?
Can you do the Viewsonic XG2405? I wanna see how does it compares to the AOC 24G2,cuz they are pretty similar.
Please review the other 24" 240Hz IPS models the Asus VG279QM and xg 270 elite!
Does the aorus cv27q comes with display port 1.4 compability? I thought cv27q and fi27q were almost the same, but from this video I saw fi27q was only 1.2 ready and this made me confused about cv27q.
Which would be the best overall monitor for gaming modern warfare in specific ? I’m looking something that’s great all around in refresh rate speed great colour quality etc ?
The response time and overshoot on the non -P version is the same as this one, or more like the first model?
Could you test the LG B9/C9 OLED @ 1440p120Hz ? I would love to see how it stacks up against these gaming monitors.
Please review the ViewSonic Elite XG270QG!
Ordered mine on sale at newegg atm. Pretty stoked to see how it pairs with the 2060 super i just picked up for some solid 1440p gaming
What do you think of it now, i'm thinking of getting it. Did you have any issues with it ?
@@SS-ho8jx no issues. Beautiful display. Yes there is that ips glow but its not crazy and i notice it less and less every day. I get 165hz, gsync and 10bit hdr. What else can you ask for
Acer Nitro XV272U review please. Only high refresh IPS monitor available here in India for a reasonable price, and I would love to hear your thoughts about it. Thanx for the amazing in-depth coverage on these. Keep up the good work ❤️
Steve try check out the new monitor line from Acer XV240YP (1080p, 144Hz, IPS) to compete with the budget champion AOC 24G2
I hope he do it. And he is Tim not Steve
@@katech6020 Oh really? hehe i only remember Steve...
I just bought this monitor are there any calibration settings from you which I should use for best coluor accuracy? Or how can I calibrate it myself?
How is. The monitor
What amount of backlight bleeding is acceptable and considered as normal?
Please do a review of the new Asus XG279Q monitor, 1440p 170hz.
That panel has already been tested: Au Optronics M270Q008 V002 on the Asus VG27AQ, this just add fake HDR support ( 400 nits) and 5hz OC.
H. Wrong. They dont use the same panel. The XG279Q panel model is 270DAN06_6
www.prad.de/testberichte/test-asus-xg279q-monitor-mit-elmb-sync-ueberzeugt/ German review looks promising Basically, it has the best performance I have ever seen. However, the price of 900€ in the EU is just way too much
My first xg279Q had 2 dead pixels and 860:1 contrast ratio (measured with spyderX using Datacolor and DisplayCAL3 software) beside that it was really nice! Better than LG 27GL850 I returned earlier (No dead pixels, lower bleed, great white, but that greyish black and angles sucked hard - 630:1). Awaiting a second Asus in a few days..Also ELMB is quite ok, except some flickering here and there. Did not had the time to play with it and refresh frequencies.. will see in a long run, if there are no headaches.. HDR for movies is kinda there but nothing extra of course.. in BFV it's not usable at all.
Guys!! Quit bickering. As long as you calibrate your monitor like BenQ does upon shipping your display and as long as your display manufacturer is AU Optronics, who cares about what the shell is or the whole not true 10 bit. 8 bit +2 or fake HDR concerns. Take a look at a perfect calibration for gaming. You won't want any artificial aid on your monitor after your eyes witness true color accurracy and not some daughterboard and processor faking vivid colors like Digital Vibrance or other tech tricks... HDR.... 👎 Ha!!
Hey Tim can you review Asus XG279Q sometime in the feture?
Yes, please, and the XG270QG too.
Can you do a rundown of a the best content consumption monitors at different price points?
So lower the HZ for more performance or is 165HZ the best setting? (New to all this)
Is there a list/ guideline of what monitor you should buy given price/ features?
Which one is better for gaming: LG 27GL850-B, Asus TUF VG27AQ or Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q ?
@Hardware Unboxed The FI27Q (not P) is on sale for $489. Is this worth the price with the 27GL850 completely sold out everywhere? Trying to find a great video editing / gaming monitor for $500
please do a review on the non -P model, so we can decide if is worth it also.
My dream is to see a Hardware Unboxed review of the alienware 34" ultrawide.
Aorus in a nutshell: High to enthusiast grade quality, VERY HIGH price
i bought one, and i bought another one a year later. Fantastic display
It would be nice if you tried out their VA too :)
This channel, tft and rting are 3 best monitor reviewers on the net at the moment.
verissimo
If i have to chose between ASUS TUF GAMING VG27AQ and AORUS FI27Q, which one should I pick (they have similar price in my country) ?
are you working on the Aorus FI27Q-X review by chance?
Question: is always the case that FreeSync (v1) monitors NEED two distinct overdrive profiles for high and low framerate and gsync monitor does not?, there is any example of a FS monitor that does all the range on the same overdrive as gsync does?
Hey fine gentleman i have a question.. what does the SA letters mean? because in my country i can find this monitor with -SA at the end and i can't find the gigabyte page or any other place to see what is the difference
hey thanx for Review ... but i have some Issues ... When I change monitor to HDR mode from windos The picture becomes gray !! Then this is also reflected in the games ... Please, I want a solution
are you planning on reviewing the Razor Raptor monitor?
Just bought one at sale, first thing i noticed opening the box.... EnergyRrating .... G ... 90W max (when other brands aruond 45W similar spec) , 31KW /1000h.... i hope its not too hot... i feel warm around the power button area... but nice display it is, especially at this sale price.
That Dashboard is great
I was actualy thinking to buy new monitor, though I have a couple of question. Can I safely mount this monitor on a wall with general monitor/tv wall mounts? Does it matter what brand other than Gigabyte motherboard/graphic card I use, will I have any compatibility issues and other way around?
I believe he said It has a VESA mount so it should be fine. Also, the graphics card/motherboard shouldn't matter in terms of compatibility, as long as your graphics card has hdmi or display port.
I agree with prices to high, I disagree with "mid range"
PLEASE review the ViewSonic ELITE XG270QG. It's regarded as the best 165hz IPS 1440 display
One thing I am missing in your reviews is minimum brightness of tested monitor.
hi, thanks for the reviews ! But i am confused and i don't know what monitor i should buy, can you please tell me your opinion? thanks ! Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q , C27HG70 , 27GL850-B , ASUS VG27AQ. it would be very helpfull to give me your advice ! or if you have some other monitor in mind please write it thanks!
Easy, LG 27GL850
Hey Tim can you review the new gigabyte fi27q-x?
PLZ REVIEW THE VIEWSONIC ELITE 27" 1440p 165hz MONITOR. On another note, that stand not doing anything to hide the wires on this Gigabyte monitor would drive me nuts!
wlhere can i get a spreadsheet or chart or ranking of all your testing with all models you've done?> thanks
Yes please
How does that compares to your titled "Best of 2019-2020" Gaming Monitor: LG 27 GL850 ?! It seems possibly better than the LG Flagship you recommended last time. I can't find anything in stock (Amazon though)... ;(
He mentioned he thought the LG had a better panel in general. I just ordered the LG 27gl850 myself and it will be delivered tomorrow. The only downside to the LG is a rather bad contrast ratio, this differs per monitor though. And a lot of people seem to state that the difference between 1200:1 and 800:1 is rather small and not really noticable, but i'll der that for myself ;D.
Great! What about BenQ EX2780Q? seems like the same panel but a very different device
