In this restoration video me and Rob Rojas recover a 1953 John Deere #40 bulldozer abandoned in a neighbors yard for 20+ years. With some help from eBay and few rattle cans we get it running like a top!!! Rob did all the hard stuff! Thank you and enjoy!!

I'm a lead technician at a construction John Deere shop, I've been wrenching on equipment professionally for 20 years and Jimmy about 6 years gave me the inspiration to get back into creating outside of work versus creating and repairing at work. The things my kids and I have learned that I apply in my day to day, be it at work or at home just by watching his videos are immeasurable. To wake up this morning and see him giving this piece of American history a new lease on life has got me so excited and has reminded me yet again. Get off that couch and do more, go outside your comfort zone and learn more, create more and just do more. Thanks Jimmy for inspiring us all!
Thank you! thank you! ☺️☺️☺️
I hear you loud and clear
I say Yabba Dabba Doo on this great rescue!
That is so true! I was just thinking while watching this vid how much inspiration I've gained over the last few years from the likes of Jimmy, Bob Clagget, Marc Spagnuolo, Neil Paskin, Adam Booth, Chris Salamone, Quinn Dunki, James Clough, Wesley Treat, of course Adam Savage, and so many more than I can list right now. Things like how to visualize a project better and order of operations, just for starters. And "Thank You!" Jimmy, for inspiring and energizing so many of them!
Now get your company to stop destroying the freedom of american farmers to repair their own equipment.
My dreams of driving a bulldozer have finally come to life 🙌🏼 This one was a fun rescue! 🚜
Now you understand why John Deere kept the two cylinder for so long. They wanted the average low education farmer to be able to fix it with the basic tools they might have on the farm. And for it to last a lifetime. Have a 1950 John Deere m 2-cylinder except for the starter still running all original for mowing the roadsides around my property
Great work!
@@2naturesownplace Now, it's the exact opposite. If you try to fix your John Deere, your warranty is voided and they sue you
Now that's what my previous employer would call a Sherwin Williams overhaul with a comfort option, thanks for the video🤗😎🤗😎
Is there anything more satisfying than an old engine coming back to life?! What a beast!
Now that was really cool. Thanks for sharing.
That was a real Dr Frankenstein moment when it finally started up. IT'S ALLLIIIVVVEEEEE!
Another vehicle saved from the scrappers, well done mate 👍🇦🇺
I restored a couple of them, a couple MCs and a real early flywheel start linderman John Deere. You are quite the Craftsman, I live up in Grafton not too far from you.
That's one pretty old boy! Love the humor. Thank you.
A Deerestoration! Thumbs up and thanks for posting.
Haha the grin on your face in that opening segment. Pure joy.
14:26 what a happy looking Dozer it is
Seriously giggled when she cranked and stayed running! 😂 Don’t know why but I felt a sense of accomplishment and I wasn’t even there!
When that thing kicked over, it was just joyous! Good work!
what a cute little dozer cracking job
Another win for the legendary ice-pick
paint and sticker job on point
When they say vintage being fixed and renewed, with a masterclass level of ability and knowledge and wisdom, they mean you, Jimmy Diresta. Always a pleasure.
Diresta and J.D. in the morning - what's not to love😀..
That peace on the back of the seat is to keep your tractor top link held up when not being used. I have the 430 tractor with the same seat frame
This was a fun one! Rob was definitely the hero of this resto. She runs and looks great now! Thanks for sharing!
Lovely old job
So great. More Rob please. He’s a great character in Jimmy’s world.
Very cool, the ol rattle can resto
That tractor is the same age as my dad (70)! It’s good to see it fired up again!
Just noticed you crossed 2million subs. Congrats Jimmy.
Super cool guys!
Have a great day Jimmy! Thanks for the video ❤
Finally NOT a short! Love your work but don't watch shorts by anyone.
Diresta been watching this stuff for a long time always been one of the best diy channels around amazing thanks
Looking forward to a full service.
That's a gorgeous little machine
The anticipation of getting it to run!!! Another great video!❤❤❤
As a child I loved to build models , I did it all the time and they lasted until the 4 th of July . You my brother are building models but they are Life size . Stay safe Stay well to Taylor , Rob and you my brother..... I'm glad I woke up on Sunday to find it wasn't a dream on Saturday.
Very cool 😎 thanks Jimmy!
Its great to see these old machines, get some tlc.
Jimmy, how about another Fitzall Pod??? You 3 are fantastic!
Amazing restoration of the JOHN DEEREsta 😊👌🏼🔥
Great restoration! Grettings from Córdoba, Argentina
Awesome dozer, and great project. Simple machines are the old work horses of America!
I generally love the content on this channel. This video felt like a deviation from the standard level of quality. A one day rattle can restoration about made my green blood boil. I'm glad it was saved and not scrapped, but this classic rig deserved better
Thank you I am a one man operation for 12 years now. Just me on camera and edit and producing . Some videos are quicker To make then others. This was one. 🤘🏼🙏🏼
At the very least, Jimmy gave it a lot better than what is was previously getting...you know, just sitting there for 20 years and all...
Hammer to Fit, Paint to match... Thanks for sharing. Great Video Jimmy and Crew.
No, paint THEN hammer 😂
Love from Egypt jimmy❤
Expert restoration...one can of green paint at a time.
Great collaboration video.
I love this because it envokes so many memories of growing up on a New Jersey farm. Please rename this video.... "Made to run forever in the USA" John Deere.
Such a clean job!!! Looks brand new
Be a hell of an episode to see you repair the the blade to "good as new" in your blacksmith shop area.
The decals made the aerosol overhaul first class. Welcome to the green team. Deere keeps on rolling!
I cant wait to wheel this relic around!!! Rob.... the krylon king gave her the bath she deserved!!!
So sick!
That old tractor came right back!
Love it!
Grinning like a kid when it finally turned.
Great save!
I absolutely love to see old machines brought back to life and given another chance.
That is one hella cool bulldozer! Excited for the rest of the video!
Great fun to watch!
Excellent job fellas. I do have to agree with the others- I think the sticker is spelled wrong. Should be DEERESTA. Nothing against Americana by any means, but if Jimmy hasn't earned Americana status then nobody has! John Deere, Jimmy Diresta, baseball, & apple pie! ...and maybe a brass icepick one day! Nice work everybody. Troy
Brilliant find what a result 💯💯💯
Beautiful!
This is one of the coolest acquisitions in the Diresta Stable! Laughed so hard at the stump getting “…’dozed!” 😂😂
У взрослых мальчиков и игрушки серьёзные!!! Классный бульдозер!!!
I love to see these videos of old equipment brought back from the grave. Another one saved!
Well done Jimmy & Rob! This proves that old saying "Nothing Runs Like A Deere"! 👍👍
Nice little dozer!
Nicely Done Guys! fun video for sure!
Looks like a lot of fun was had by all. Thanks, Jimmy.
beautiful machine🤠👍
Fabulous save, so quick, practical & delightful. Glorious joy to see it all green & running again. Thank you for sharing!
Clicked on this thinking it was a Marty T video. Plenty of good abandoned machines to go around I guess :)
I just made a MartyT reference/ comment. 😂
Oh, what fun! A refresh on a beautiful old tractor! Jimmy, Rob, nice save guys, you should be proud! You too, Lucas!
That is so cool!! love the old John Deere crawlers!! I STRONGLY recommend that you get a flapper cap for the straight pipe exhaust!! We used to have an old massy tractor from the '30s (as a guess) that my dad and grandpa would start up in the summers just to tool around on. it had a straight pipe that needed the CAN put on. One year, the can blew off and the rain went into the cylinders and rusted it up tight. I still feel a loss for that!! I was just a kid, but that was a lot of fun! thanks!!
What an incredible transformation! Looks beautiful
Restoration videos are capable of evoking feelings of nostalgia. They remind us of the craftsmanship and attention to detail in the past 👍👍👍
that was fun
This is so cool my cousin had one of these on the dairy farm to haul trees from the bush in the winter… very nimble in a huge bush lot also ran like a top… much love from deep river, Ontario, Canada 👊✌️🇨🇦
Awesome project, love seeing an old deere brought back to life!
In the Army we called it POD or Paint Over Dirt. It was the best way to pass inspections with things like tanks and bradleys.
Another great direstoration by Jimmy Diresta . I've never seen a dozer that small . Great find and job guys
Very cool!! Love those old machines
New life for old iron I love it ty brother much respect
I was REALLY hoping that when I didn't see a ton of Instagram stories last night, that meant that you were editing this! What a great video! PERFECT for a Saturday morning! Well done!
Man, that's a fun toy.😆
Looks like so much fun
I never knew I wanted a bulldozer until Thanks so much for showing the finished product up front! That's a really important things so many tubers miss!
How cool is that. Love the sound.
Thats a fun toy!
JD + heavy machinery....saturday afternoon just got a bit more interesting!
so great man, not many people get the chance to project or play with a tiny tank
Nice work - these machnes deserve to be restored and preserved
Great fix up Jimmy and team.
That's Diresta type of video. More like it please
Love to see old equipment come back to service. Cool video.
I love this old John deer stuff it's really built to last not like all the new electronic junk that doesn't last keep up the great work love the content 😺😺😺
Nice restoration! 😜
Haters won't understand; done is better than perfect!
Okay this made me so happy! It kind reminded me that you’re just like all of us. Sometimes you just want to get something running and have fun with it. This was incredible
Right to repair!
Awesome rescue, you got it going far easier than I thought it would take
