THE ULTIMATE TORNADO UP CLOSE - Divine Tornado Conception 4K
Unbelievable swirling clouds appear to be fertilized by a tornado. This violent, long track tornado packed EF3 tornado force winds over open Kansas country southwest of Dodge City on May 24, 2016. The incredible twister took on many dramatic shapes during its 32 minute life span and destroyed a home near Ensign Kansas. For licensing 4K footage contact hankschyma@yahoo.com
At 5:09 PM, GOES revealed an exploding thunderstorm initiating near Minneola Kansas. By 5:21, NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for this storm and by 5:24 a tornado warning. At about 5:53 the tornado touched down and tracked over mostly open farm land as it grew into a photogenic monster stove pipe with a max path width of approximately 300 yards / 274 meters. As the path of the tornado curved to the northwest toward Ensign, the tornado began to reveal its strength spewing dirt and crops high into the atmosphere and toward the end of it's life, hit a structure verifying EF3 force winds. You can see debris from this structure whirling around the tornado. After 32 minutes on the ground, the tornado roped out at 6:25PM. Two people were critically injured from this tornado outbreak but no fatalities have been reported.
This was only the first tornado of 12 that I witnessed during this unprecedented tornado producing cyclic supercell. Several clutches of twin tornadoes and at one occasion 3 tornadoes were on the ground simultaneously under the storm. You can see these tornadoes in Part 2 of this youtube series.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Extreme instability was in place east and southeast of a low centered over the Western Kansas and Colorado border. Near a dry line and outflow boundary triple point, strong heating, ML CAPE from 2500-3000 j/kg, dew points near 70 degrees F and very steep mid-level lapse rates set the stage for splitting supercells with significant tornadoes.
I admire the fact that you are able to express your fascination without the typical yelling and screaming of many other storm chasers.
So true.
Yes, he's awesome!
Bet he doesn't wear flip flops and shorts either.
They scream and yell to create a fake level of intensity.
wheresmyhouse ... I agree, his low- key way of commenting actually intensifies the dramatic feeling, bringing a touch of intense scary thrill, an unbearable kick of tension
The absence of hysterical yelling makes this the best channel for watching anything to do with storms and tornadoes, absolute gold!
scary i cannot see😨😨😳😳
ho now allah?allah is do like this because i don know
Indeed.
Not gold but platinum
Also an absence of "Foreground Muzak". His photography and camera work does all the talking needed.
Notice that once the tornado gets a lil too close, He backs up respectfully. While other rookies be all like "OoOoOh hERe wE gOoO"
Nice
I've not seen any other chaser consistently make videos that are presented in such a calm, informative manner. Instead of the usual chaotic, loud, panicked screams accompanied by the wobbly shots. Even when it's a murky, rain wrapped blob of a tornado, all Hanks shots are still and clear. He's a legend. O and im sure there are other chasers with quality footage, but I've not seen it. Yet! Hope you're good.

Your footage is a step above almost all storm chasers I see. Your demeanor is that of awe and reverence. You don’t yell, cheer, or joke. You treat nature with the respect she deserves and demands. And holy hell what absolutely stunning footage. Clear, focused, and smooth. Absolutely earned a sub. You inspire me to do this one day and be able to share the majesty and horror of nature.

When Its late and I am still watching something in my phone I play some of Hank's videos. I do that so I can fall asleep. His videos are so calm that they make me sleep at night no matter what. I love this channel.
Sometimes I’ll listen to them when I’m trying to sleep because it makes me feel less lonely and have something positive to feel asleep too. He’s just really calming.
I still gave you a thumbs up. Even though it’s almost like listening to the golf. At the same time there is so much in general loud and irritating people at work or when you come home or even when you’re just out at the supermarket as I struggle to contain myself when moms have their kids and they’re all screaming or asking for what they want and the mom is doing her best but of course with a raised voice and I’m just thinking how the hell can I get out of here fast enough!

The ghostly howl from that thing is terrifying.
It looks like is straight out from a nightmare or horror game.
It is truly terrifying.
Terror que vem do céu.
Yes indeed
But in a good way.
Ambient sound of the Tornado at ~ 6:00 is awesome and unnerving. There is a visceral reaction to the menace it adds to the images. Sound is the missing element in most tornado videos, because of talking, recording from the interior of a car or-get this-music. Well done, Pecos Hank.
There is background music in most of his videos, a lot of it if not all, he does himself. Still no word on whether he can play Classical Gas though, lolz
YES! And it's eerily reminiscent of the tornado sound from "The Wizard of Oz"--in retrospect I'm impressed all over again with that scene, which still actually spooks me quite a lot. Another video where you can really hear the tornado is one of the videos from the Tuscaloosa tornado of 2011--the one recorded by two dudes who were just hanging out when the tornado came and tore the roof off their house, with them barely getting down to the basement in time. Amazing, menacing sounds in that one, recommended.
Ok boomer
Ann Teve, for sure. Most of the tornado chasers never bother to get the ambient sound.

The fact that you don't yell to add drama actually makes it more dramatic. The fact that you don't freak out about every little thing lets me know that when you are saying you're too close, you are indeed too close. I appreciate your calm demeanor that actually reflects the danger that you are or aren't in.
💯.... I can't stand it when they yell either. I turn the volume all the way down or stop watching it entirely and give a thumbs down.
Торнадо
They yell because it's nerve racking and scary, an average person would freak out in those situations. I bet you would freak out, don't judge because you're not there
this ironically calms me down whenever i’m having severe anxiety moments: there’s something quite magical about tornados and the way you talk about them is so soothing. thank you, these shots are beautiful
I've only recently discovered your channel. I love watching tornado footage, but often I find they are overwhelming. Not the footage itself, but the narration that happens. Yours, though, are so poetic, relaxing...like the Bob Ross of storm chasing
That is the perfect way to describe Hank. He's so wholesome just like Bob Ross. He even includes little animal friends sometimes, just like the happy little cloud master himself.

Right there with you, mm. I find it therapeutic to feel humbled... to be reminded that there are things I am powerless to control, and the best way to handle them isn't by freaking out, but rather backing away and observing them with calm curiosity, looking for a lesson to learn. And then Hank's humor comes in adding just the right amount of levity. :-)
I was having no complex issues before watching this video, a bit stressed but nothing uncommon. After viewing this video I feel warm and content. I came to see if anybody else felt the same. It’s wonderful not being alone so to speak.

Congratulations Hank, you've done it. Everyone tries to capture the ominous roar of the beast, and it always sounds like strong wind blowing across a microphone. Your video is textbook for what one actually sounds like. It's like a rattlesnake, once you hear one for the first time, the next time you don't even have to see him to know exactly what is making that noise. Thank you for sharing this remarkable footage
Eric Brown😍
Eric Brown thought its supposed to sound like a train.
Eric Brown I think it sounds like a swarm of bees
Smaller tornadoes can sound like a waterfall, a jet engine, or a swarm of bees. When one was near me in Calhan, CO on 8/9/04, it was a rope maybe a few yards wide at the ground and had a path of a quarter mile long, it sounded like a waterfall until it hit a power line, and then it dissipated soon after. The funnel cloud however, remained aloft as the storm passed over town, and a pretty noticeable drop in pressure was observed, almost enough to pop your ears. Apparently, the storm had enough rotation to keep it together, but not enough RFD present to continue tornadoing, a very good thing that afternoon
I just read your comments guys and I rewatched the video again with my headphones. You are right, it's a characteristic sound that this tornado made! So thanks for these comments!
I have a huge fear of bad storms and tornados. I can keep calm enough to make sure I’m safe, even when driving. But serious anxiety gets even when the wind picks up too strong. Your videos seriously help! From being more knowledgeable on tornados and getting to observe them calmly it just helps in so many ways. The way you capture them is beautiful. Thank you!

spellthemagicword how does tornadoes kill people? Like will they get sucked into the sky if they get caught into the vortex?
The wind speeds and debris. At 200-300mph, it picks up pavement, vaporizes wood home structures, and pretty much destroys anything it comes in contact with.
🤣
Ahmed saeed that’s actually very possible if you’re in the path without shelter. There are videos of tornados picking up semi trailers and train cars and lifting them into the sky. So a human would be nothing.

You know what I appreciate about you, Hank? You actually let us hear the tornado. Most videos is just people saying "omg can you hear that? Listen you guys! It's roaring!"
