I'm pretty sure this is the World's Largest 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube. The only other big one I found was from Tony Fisher here: bit.ly/TonysGiant2x2

  • Excellent work! :D I find it really interesting that the first 2x2s (from Rubik's brand anyway) were a new design for the core and connections... then fast forward a bunch of years, and the standard 2x2 design is "just use a 3x3 mechanism and hide the edges. It's such a simple solution in hindsight!

  • Nice video, it's cool how smoothly it seems to turn despite using one of those large 3x3s as a core. All through the video I kept getting reminded of when I was making a 2x2 build of my 4D portal cube ( gamejolt.com/games/rubiksportalcube/325536 ), literally just took the 3x3 build, turned the faces and edges invisible and enlarged the corners, leaving the entire 3x3 mechanism in place, saved me a ton of time in programming.
